Stampin Up Rollers

I have seen some wonderful cards created using the SU rollers. I have had a quick play with these in the past but it was time for some serious rolling.

These cards were made using the forever flower rollers in bashful blue and certainly celary.

Tuesday

Oh Brother

I have been wanting to play with my distress inks for some time. I have been watching youtube tutorials, listening to advise from friends and bugging craft shop assistants for help.

Here is my first attempt on a card I was asked to make for a 13 year old who likes guitars. The picture isnt brilliant because I was having problems with my camera. Please note, no white space.

Sunday

Sirstampalot Day with Gina

I was lucky enough to have a wonderful day at Sirstampalot with the extremely talented Gina Martin. I drove there with Pam (via Morrisons to pick up lunch).

We settled into our seats and it seemed that 5 minutes later the day ended. I dont know where 6 hours went. We made 6 cards, drank plenty of coffee, picked up lots of tips and even managed a bit of shopping before heading home.

Here are the pictures of one of the cards we made

I am looking forward to my next day with Gina.

Friday

Anniversary Card

As a lot of you know, I have been struggling to use my copics. I just cant get the result that I want. I have been watching everyone use them getting better and better and on Sunday I saw some cards that were so scrummy that I knew I had to play again.

This is the first attempt that I have been kinda happy with. It isnt perfect but not a bad start. As I was asked to make a card for a sister's first wedding anniversary I used this image to make this sweet and simple card. I do like my white space.

I promise to play and play and play with my copics until I am happy with them but, any tips anyone can give me will be very welcome

Wednesday

Debbies Party

I dont know if you have noticed but I have added a new section on the right hand side of this blog. Other Stampin Up Demonstrators links to blogs that they have and what a lot of inspiration there is. I have been spending my time blog hopping (is that the right terminology)? There are some wonderful ideas, well worth spending a few minutes (or hours in my case) having a look through.

I just had to case some of them for Debbies party. You know when you see a card and instantly its "oh I must do that". Well I did.

In fact I am spending more time looking at everyone's cards rather than sitting in my craft room making them. Nor am I updating my blog as much as I should, ooops.

Anyway, I am rambling again, last Friday I had a lovely evening at Debbies Stampin Up party, there were 7 of us and here are a couple of pictures that I managed to take.

We played with the tart and tangy set and the blooming with beauty.

Lots of concentration going
on here

That was the last party using the 2008-2009 Stampin Up catalogue. My next event is the 2009-2010 Catalogue launch on 31st October. Details will be sent out nearer the date.

Thursday

nearly the weekend

Yet another busy and stressful day at work but only 6 more work getups and then its holiday time YIPPEEE.

Got a few chores to do at home before I nip off to the fat club to see if I have lost any weight this week. I feel as though I have as I have been very good again. I hope to get to do a bit of playing in the craft room later, starting to get ready for my big 31 October event.

It was Sandra's birthday yesterday, Sandra is a neighbour, friend and an important part of the Derby Dabblers and here is the card that I made for her.

Tuesday

Tarty again

After a hectic weekend, this is not a complaint, I have finally manage to grab 10 minutes before going to bed to update the blog. Saturday was spent shopping for my daughters and oohhh, what fun I had. Sunday we had parents for lunch- no we didnt eat parents, they came to eat with us, ohhh you know what I mean (it is late) and visitors all afternoon. Went to bingo in the evening and then that was it, weekend gone. I do wish we could work weekends and have the whole week off, for the same salary of course.

Last night had a couple of friends round and we played with the rollers again. I am so crazy with the forever flower roller at the moment, I will share my cards with you later in the week.

Have been making commissioned cards last night and tonight, which I do enjoy. I will get these finalised tomorrow and given out on Thursday and I must remember to take photos of them to show you.

I did manage to finish off these two cards, from the tart and tangy set. This is another set of stamps that I have been doing lots with. Not too sure if the green greeting goes with the red cherries, what do you think?

Thanks for having a read and look forward to seeing what comments you have left.

Saturday

The last from the Craft Class

This is the last card from Phil's workshop. Quite a bit of cutting out and I love the shape of the card. I didnt get the images quite right.

I am going to have to get my skates on now as I dont have any new cards to show you this week. Over the last week I have been busy catching up with paperwork and housework and preparing for a stampin up party at Debbies at the end of next week. Lets hope I manage to get something rustled up in the afternoon as I do have a lot of orders to do.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to.

Friday

Craft Class

Here is another card that I made at Phil's workshop a couple of weeks ago. We made four cards throughout the day.

This image is from the Penny Black Christmas collection. Its a very unusual shaped card. Thank you to the lady who sat opposite me for loaning her watercolour pencils. I didnt realise we should have taken our own.

An update on the cards I sent to Katerina over 3 weeks ago - they still havent arrived.

Thursday

Who has stolen my background???

On my screen I dont appear to have a background anymore. Did someone borrow it or is it just the view I have.

Can you see a pretty background?

UPDATED - no one owned up to pinching my background so I will not worry about it. You must have liked it so much to take it so I have decided that you can keep it, really, I dont mind.

So now I have a Summer theme for a while, to last over the Summer Holidays. Please dont take this one, I will give it to you in Autumn.

What does everyone think of this background? ok so I know its not a card but will put some more on soon (I just have to make them)

Penny Black

The week is really going quickly and I havent done all the things I should be done, I keep getting waylaid, but at least I am having fun.

This little chappie is for a card I was asked to make for my sister's friend. I got him from our recent retail therapy day out and I can see him being used quite a lot.

We have the Derby Dabblers craft club meet up tomorrow night which I am really looking forward to. Unfortunately I have to go to the dentist first YAK.

Wednesday

Weekend Away

Paul and I managed to grab a couple of days down on the East Coast. We went to ingoldmells for the weekend and stayed at mum and dads caravan.

The weather was lovely and so was the company. We spent the whole of Saturday wandering around the market and of course I just had to pick up some bits and bobs for the girls. I cant say what I managed to find as I know that they are regular visitors to my blog.

Here is a photo of the caravan and Paul with his new car.

Tuesday

While Paul's away

the girls will play.

Unfortunately Paul, my other half, went away again yesterday. He does work away from home quite often but he has just had a really long trip and had only been home a few days when he took off down the motorway, again.

Last night I invited everyone round to collect their Stamping Up goodies that arrived at the end of last week. We sat and chatted and had a really nice evening. Pauline had made a fantastic Strawberry Terrine (is that how it is spelt) but left it at home. Her husband, bless him, got on his bike and brought it round to us. Here is a picture of it before we all dived in. It was beautiful and only 1 Syn for the whole lot, for those that on a Slimming World diet, which I am. A BIG thank you to Pauline and Robert.

Tart and Tangy

At the recent Well Dressings I was asked to make quite a few personalised cards, which have now all been made and sent out.

Here is one of them, which is a favourite of mine from the Cheers to You set from Stampin Up

As a thank you, I sent out a card which I made from the Tart and Tangy set

I had been blog hopping for days and saw something similar but I cant remember where I saw it. It was one of those that stuck in my mind for a days and I just had to do something similar.
