...to the family
You may recall in a post a few days ago, this big box was left by Santa at our house.
It took Paul a few hours to put it all together, as shown
It was a drum kit that he has been wanting for years, well it is now in the living room. No I dont have a large living room and I am sure it wont be too long before I start putting ornaments on the symbols.
And now he cant even get a look in.
The girls are loving it but I am not too sure about the neighbours, oopps sorry. The grandchildren have yet to see it but I cant wait for them to try it out

Family Christmas Cards - Part 1
With the run up to Christmas, getting everything ready for my daughter's and their friends arrival and Paul being away, I totally forgot to share some cards with you, made especially for my family. I try to make one type of card for mums, dad, aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers....much easier as I have lots of stuff out all at once.
This was an embossed card which I loved to make. I used Bravo Burgandy SU cardstock, gold embossing powders and gold mirror card. Using my new heat tool, on a slower setting meant that the problem I always had with card bending, never happened. A really good buy.
Here is a close up.
I plan to have one night a month making Christmas cards (I did say plan) and this is one of the cards I shall be making ready for next year.
Saturday
A very Merry Christmas
to you all, and what a magical day it was.
It was made very special by having two of my three daughters with us. They both had friends here with them also so it was a busy one. I must have been a good girl as Santa was especially nice to me, lots of surprises and lots of what I had asked for.
My eldest daughter remained in Cyprus for her first Christmas with her boyfriend, in their new home.
Here are some pics of what we woke up to Christmas morning.

New Colours
Thought I would have a bit of a makeover and have some new colours on the blog. Not too sure if it works or not but will leave it a few days to see how I get used to it. If only decorating was this simple.
Woke up this morning and realised that I had made all my Christmas cards....and forgotten to make one for my other half. YIKES. I spent an hour later on in the day making it, phew, he will never know it was a last minute rush. Will take some pictures of it tomorrow in daylight.

Day out at Blyth
Last week Pam and I went for a day at Blyth along with another 60 or so people. It was a long day and a big thanks go to Pam for doing all the driving. We met some really nice ladies and had a great day.
Here are the cards that we made
This was made using sheets of fantasy film, think thats the correct name for it. There were three sheets all ironed together and a punch for the borders.
Used peel offs, mirror board and a ribbon punch for this wedding card
Peek offs coloured in and then suspended. Liked this idea
Made using one of the keepsake boards
Waterfall card
Made a nice change from making Christmas cards

Thursday
Santa's comimg soon but...
.... I am not yet quite ready for him.
Every year I say I am going to be more prepared and every year I just get worse. I have a list as long as my arm of chores and shopping and wrapping etc. etc. still to do and less than a week to do it all in. Oh well what will be, will be.
Thought I would share with you a card I made for a voucher to go in.
This is the voucher cover which has a wrap to hold it all in place. The last thing I wanted was for the voucher to fall out.
This is the inside of the card with tabs to secure the voucher, plenty of space on the flap for a verse or wishes to be written.
This is the actual wrap that went over the cover
I have made quite a few more for Christmas presents but cant show you them until after the 25th.

Jackies Workshop Cards part 2
This is the second card we made at Jackies. As there were quite a few people there we had the card making session in two halves, to cater for everyone. I'm afraid not everyone had chance to make two cards but, I promise we will make up for it at the next workshop.
A great day was had by all and a big thank you goes to Jackie for holding this.

Christmas Cards part 4
I did say that I have been busy with the card making in a previous post. I believe that I have posted out all the cards now so I can post them on here.
These are a some that I made which are not my usual style. Took a lot longer than I anticipated but really enjoyed making them. I first saw these at an evening I went to with Rachel at Hobbyhorse in Elvaston. We didn't actually get the opportunity of making this card on the evening that I went but Rachel very kindly gave me the project instructions. I have changed it slightly for my cards but just love the colours.
Thank you to the talented Rachel for showing us how to make this.
