Thank You

New Years Eve 2023

Good morning and can you believe I was woken up to the sound of the birds singing this morning.  Havent heard them in quite a while.

We had a chilled day yesterday although I did put lots of bits and pieces away and get things straight....as I do.  Went to see mum and dad in the afternoon who were both in good health (as best that they can be).  I also made a turkey pie, yes we are still eating the turkey.  Hubby has been after making a pie for a few years now so we went off to the BBC good food guide, found something that had good reviews and had a go.

The last day of 2023 goodness me.  I do hope that you have a wonderful day and evening, whatever you may be up to.  Us, we are off to see my parents again this afternoon and hopefully meeting my sister and her hubby there.  Mum wants to have a game of cards....should be interesting as her memory is not the very best these days, ooops. Having vasular dementia and Alzeiheimers isnt the easiest thing but at the moment she still knows who we all are.  She may get confused by the days and she may get in a muddle halfway through a sentance but we are lucky, she is still mum.   Dad is amazing with her and it cant be easy for him at times.

Do you make New Year Resolutions?  I think that this last year has made me realise that it is the little things in life that matter and make the most difference in my life.  Such as holding the door open, taking the time to get in touch, receiving something in the post for no reason at all, saying thank you, adding that extra little touch to card making, pretty packaging etc.  So that is what I shall be doing for 2024 making sure that I do the little things.  Do you have any New Year resolutions?  Would love to hear about them in the comments if you do.

Of course I shall spend another year of crafting now and then and meeting up with all the wonderful friends I have made over the years.  Fingers crossed I get to meet lots of new friends too.

Speaking of crafting, here is a card that was made for a recent birthday.

I loved making this one.  It has so many different elements to it and it is from a sketch I saw somewhere on the internet.  Do you ever follow sketches?  This is where you see an image and it shows you where you should place elements but the elements you use are totally up to you.

Well I must go and get myself ready for another lovely day.  Thank you so much for having a read x

Saturday

The last Saturday of 2023

Good morning and its a rather cold start to the last Saturday of 2023.  I dont have a 'to do' list today, I am just going to potter all day and sort out lots of little things that need sorting.  I am struggling with my RA (Rhumatoid Arthritis) today as I have done far too much over the last few days.  I think because I can do things then I should but then my body tells me that I have overdone it.

We had a wonderful get together last night with the local craft club called Derby Dabblers.  We meet once a month, always the last Friday of the month.  Everyone brings along their own projects and we spend a few hours in each other company crafting away.  If ever you fancy coming along, please do, you will be made to feel very welcome.  Here are the details of the next meet up.

Here is a card that was made for a special birthday this week.

I do hope that it was received.  One of the things that I never know when posting cards out, do folk get them?  One of my New Year resolutions for 2024 is to make sure that anyone who sends me anything knows that I have received it.  My motto is going to be 'its the little things that matter'. So a quick message, phone call or email to say thank you wont go amiss.  Ohh you will be so surprised by the amount of New Year resolutions I am making *giggling*

Do you use Facebook?  If you do have you ever had a look at the Stampin' Up! group on there?  Wow, what amazing projects they share, especially on a Tuesdy.  It is well worth having a look and if you have any queries about what you see, just get in touch with me and I will see if I can answer them for you.

Right, I am off to get myself ready for the day.  Thank you so much for having a ready and I hope you have a super Saturday.  Tracey x

Wednesday

Last Wednesday of 2023

Good morning, the last Wednesday of 2023.  I wonder how many, if any, folk read this?  I have woken up feeling stuffed, not wanting to eat for a week and confused as to what day it is.  I wonder if others feel the same lol.

Yesterday we did manage to get our walk around the park.  It was a bit chilly but the birds, ducks, geese, swans etc. were rather hungry.  It was lovely to see so many people out and about, especially the children with their parents.

I also managed to catch up with Dr. Who which was a bit of a strange episode with singing in it.  There was an extra bit on how they made the episode and that was very enlightening.

I did of course try and clean the craft room but then I got thworted, is that a word?  Sophia called me and we talked about desk calendars and so then I ended up preparing four of them for her.  Here are the bees I prepared, these are from a new set coming out in just a few days.

I am off out first thing this morning to buy prizes for games at our Derby Dabblers Craft Club Fuddle.  Derby Dabblers is a group of crafters that meet up once a month, the last Friday of the month to be exact.  There are quite a few of us and we do every craft you can imagine, knitting, crocheting, painting, embroidery, card making, scrapbooking, diamond art etc. etc.  Well this Friday is our annual fuddle/Christmas party.  I have already started preparing for it but will get the games/prizes all sorted and wrapped today leaving the food to purchase tomorrow and Friday.  So I am off to a couple of shops first thing this morning and then hopefully back to cleaning that craft room.

If you wanted to join us at Derby Dabblers next January, you will be made to feel most welcome.

Thank you for having a read today, I must jump into action and get my day started.  Tracey x

Tuesday

Boxing Day 2023

Good morning and Happy Boxing Day.

It turned out that my sis DID have food poisoning so we were able to spend our first Christmas Day with the whole family for the first time in 5 years WHOOP WHOOP.   We were so hoping that she didnt have a bug that kept us away.  They were fantastic hosts and we had a wonderful day, one to treasure. My parents were there, my neices and the children.

Got home around 7ish and spent the next couple of hours in front of the TV, I have saved Dr. Who for today.  Today will be a quiet day for (it was noisy yesterday and we are not used to it).  After a bit of tidying up I have quite a few new crafting toys to play with.  We shall have a light lunch followed by getting a little fresh air by wandering around a local park.  It is five years ago today that we lost my daughter to an awful condition called Scleroderma.  She put up a very brave fight

There isnt a day that goes by that I dont think of her and whilst the pain never goes away, it is easier to bear.  Now I can think of the happier times we had without the tears falling.  I just cant believe that it is five years.  Christiana used to love feeding the ducks at a local park so hopefully, weather permitting we shall try and get out to do that later.

I have a very untidy craftroom and will try and get that cleaned also today, the problem is that once I see things, I start to play and my little pile of untidyness is getting bigger and bigger oppps.

Although it is Boxing Day, I shall be putting my last 2023 order into Stampin' Up! this evening at 8pm.  Should you wish to add to my order please do get in touch with me and let me know. You will need to collect it from the Craft Room prior to 7th January.
