Twisted Easel card

Good morning, oh my, it is so wet outside.  We certainly are having lots of different weather this week, freezing cold, snow, ice and today rain.

As mentioned previously, I dont have to many cards for men in my boxes of cards so this week I am concentrating on getting a few added.   If we are having another 5 weeks (at least) of semi lockdown, I may as well keep myself busy.

I used to make a lot of easel cards and twisted easel cards many years ago and it seems that they are making their rounds again.  So this time I made another.

Its strange that I even remembered how to make them, that doesnt happen too often these days.  I had a lovely time putting this together and it is so much easier than my previous attempts as everything matches.  One of the benefits of using Stampin' Up! products.  I have added a list below of everything I used.  The papers are only available in this design when you join the Stampin' Up! Family.  You actually get 5 packs of papers FREE when you join.  To find out more, please get in touch.

If you would like to have a go at making something similar to this card,  we are having a Zoom get together over the weekend.

Winter arrived in Derby

Good morning and another cold start to the day.  That doesn't matter as long as you are snug and warm inside.  So we had snow over the weekend and how wonderful it all looks.

We managed to get quite a few photographs this time, very unusal for us. Here is one I captured

Paul cleared a path from the back of our house to my craft room bless him.  He then put salt down so I had no fear of it freezing over.  He is a keeper.  I will add that he also cleared a path for the postman (for SU orders), a path to his garage and to the rubbish bins.  Maybe I ought to buy him a snow shovel?  We have more snow forecast at the weekend again but that is after a warm Thursday of 9 degrees.  I dont usually bother with the weather forecast as it is all a bit hit and miss.

Today we were hoping to get out and have a walk to the post box but by listening to the advice of folk that have already ventured out, I am staying put.  It sounds very slippey and dangerous outside and I dont need to take any risks.

So my days have been spent making cards and what a lovely time I have had. I have discovered that by limiting my time in the craft room I am more productive.  I know it may sound strange but its working for me, I have a couple of hours in an afternoon and an hour in the evening.  The craft room is clean, there are cards already made for February and I am just making some 'Welcome to the Team' cards.

I did make this card ready for Spring, it just needs a sentimen.  It is an older stamp and it hasnt seen too much use...oppps

And then I made this as I had my Stampin' Up! water colours out and the blending brushes. I realised that I dont have too many masculine cards so I need to change that.

No matter what stamp set you are using, the blending brushes, inks and watercolour pencils work with them.  I have used Stampin' Up! Shimmery White card as its just perfect for creating my cards in this way.  I do love watercoloured paper too but the Shimmery White leaves a lovely shine to the finished card when it catches in the light.

I have listed below the Stampin' Up! products I have used for these cards but if you would like more details, please do get in touch with me as I really am, always happy to help.  If you would like to purchase any of the products, now is an ideal time as Stampin' Up! have a promotion called Sale a Bration.  Every time you spend £45 you can pick something FREE out of the Sale a Bration brochure.  If you click on the CATALOGUES section above, you can see what free items you can choose.  By clicking on the Shop Here link below, you can place your own order to come direct to your house or if you are local to me, I can order it for you and you are more than welcome to collect (at a safe distance of course).

Thank you for having a read today and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday.  Tracey x

Happy Birthday Charlotte

Good afternoon, things are certainly changing here.  I dont seem to be finding time to get into the Craft Room and be creative over the last few days but hopefully that will soon be remedied (just waiting for the on line shopping to arrive).

It is Charlottes birthday today and this is the card that I made for her

It has been stamped onto Stampin' Up! card and coloured with Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils.  The actual stamp is a very old favourite of mine and there is a bit of decoupage going on too.  I am sorry you cant see the glitter but it is there and shines very brightly in the right light.

I am really sad to say that Katerina had to say goodbye to her wonderful beagle, Brownie, this week.  She has been ill for a while, with her kidneys and the vet tried a course of treatment lasting for well over a month, all over Christmas. Katerina was taking the dog each morning to have infusions and picking her up at night.  And then the blood test shows that Brownie had anemia.  So that was treated but she didnt respond to treatment at all.  Katerina only had her for a few short months but didnt want her to suffer in any way.

Of course this brings back all kinds of emotions as you can expect.

On a positive note, the renovations of the little loo are moving along, slowly but surely.  There is now a lovely light and a fan and a bit of a ceiling.  The walls are starting to be boarded and Paul is working all day every day in there, as well as sorting out other little jobs.   And then we had the tree taken down.

It was extremely tall, really.  I ummmed and arrrddd for  many months about leaving it, removing it and leaving it again.  Then when we hear of the strong winds coming and should the tree fall, it could go into the neighbours house, across the road, or our house or even the craft room.  The roots are extremely long and are distorting the pavement outside which is becoming a trip hazard so in the end, there was no choice.  It has now let a lot of light in the houses opposite and everytime I go outside, I think something is missing. We do have another tree planted and growing through.

Thank you for having a read today, I hope you have a smashing Saturday, whatever you are up to.  Tracey x

My first 12x12 One Sheet Stamped Wonder

Today I am on a bit of a mission to get that craft room cleaned up and get some things ready for sale.  In between chatting on the phone, emails, writing blog posts, facebook and that there Pinterest, there is hardly any time left at all for actually making cards.  Never mind about the cooking and cleaning and you know what, I wouldnt have it any other way.  So it is a clean up, a couple of videos of what I have for sale and then a little creating this evening.

I wanted to let you know that I was introducted to Ruth Magness, a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator a while ago and she makes some amazing projects.  In turn I discovered Amanda Bates who also makes wonderful projects but what has taken my fancy is the one sheet stamping wonder that both ladies create.  Now to stamp out designs on a sheet of A4 is one thing but I have been really brave, pulled up my big girl pants and created a 12x12 one sheet wonder stamped sheet.

Of course I was also brave after that because, I cut it all up

And created some cards with it that I cant wait to send out.

I used a right mixture of stamps and inks but had the greatest of time creating them.

I hope to do a little more creating with a 12x12 one sheet stamped wonder again, once I am all straight.
