Sunday

Ending the weekend with another oopss

The good news is that MIL is doing fine. Thank you for all your good wishes. We have spent a lot of time with her this weekend and she is coping so well. Struggling with the toothpaste top and brushing teeth and a few other bits and pieces but she is so brave. Its off to the hospital tomorrow to have a proper plaster put on her wrist.
Last night I had an ooppss. I went to rest my knee on the table (no not the kitchen table, the low coffee table) and click yikes I screamed. I dont know what I have done to my knee but it swelled up immediately and is so painful. Didnt get much sleep and then tonight, it just gave way completely when I was walking, I fell over. ooopps. I am going to see if I can get in to the docs first thing in the morning as I really dont want to have caused any damage to it, yes it is the knee that I hurt during the my injury last year at work. Fingers crossed that I can get it sorted.

Some more good news, Christiana has access to the internet from Panayiotis's telephone so she can read my blog, fantastic. So for Christiana, and any other beginners that my be reading this, here is how I made the baby cards.
First of all cut and score all your card bases

Cut all your layered pieces (pink and white)
Type your sentiment onto the white layer (dont stick them together just yet). These will be the front of your cards
Cut out all your layered pieces for the inserts.
Type the verse and then adhere these together
Stamp out the clothes with black ink on scrap white card
Colour in the clothes
Stamp out the clothes again on your card front
Draw the clothes line in pencil and when you are happy with it, go over the pencil lines with a dark brown marker
Go around all the clothes with a gray pen or use a paintbrush and some watercolour pencils
Stick the card layer with the clothes on to the pink layer and then stick this to your card front
Stick the verse insert inside your card
Cut out all the baby clothes that you coloured in
Put 3d foam pads onto the back of the clothes
Attach these cut out clothes to the front of your card

Viola

I am sorry that this is such a long winded and step by step instruction post but I hope that Christiana will understand it all.

Thanks for having a read.

Saturday

Brrr chilly saturday morning

Brrrr its cold today. I thought that we had done with the cold weather but you will certainly need your ganzy on today, (for those that may not know, a ganzy is a cardigan).

I am up with the larks this morning, actually its before the larks. Just to make you feel guilty the washer is on, the house is clean and I am on my second cuppa. I am making the most of using the internet whilst I can as it is so intermittent which is frustrating.

Fingers crossed that MIL had a good night but its too early to call her.

Here is a card that was for an order and went out earlier this week.

I have a few more cards to put in the post today so if you have an order with me, look out for the postman next week. Once my craft room is clean it will be full steam ahead with lots of samples for the next crafty night, lots of swaps that I have to make for next weekend and a few more cards for the box for my first event at Aston on Trent.

Christiana, my eldest daughter in Cyprus has just spent the week in hospital having some treatment. She hasnt had a very good experience and isnt too well at the moment. I know she is going to have some internet access over the weekend so for Christiana, HOPE YOU ENJOY THE CARDS. I know she is going to be looking at the photos and she has asked for some Valentine cards. If I get chance I will get my thinking cap on.

I hope to be able to catch up with all my emails this weekend so apologies if you are still waiting for a reply to an email.

DO YOU WANT A STAMPIN UP PARTY IN FEBRUARY? I am taking bookings for stampin up parties towards the end of February so if you have been toying with the idea, go for it. Not only do you get your fantastic hostess gifts but you could also get some FREE stamp sets from the Sale a Bration. Give me a call on 01332 721877. You dont have to be in the Derby area either as I am very happy to travel.

Have a lovely day whatever you are up to and thank you for having a read. I would love to know what you have planned for the weekend so leave a comment if you can.

Friday

oops

YEAH its the weekend and mine has certainly started with a bang. Well a bump and fall actually. Mum in law to be has had a fall and has broken her wrist in two places, lots of bruises and grazes but putting on such a brave face. My weekend will be taken up travelling backwards and forewards to her as she doesnt want to move in with me for a while.....such a brave and independant lady. So, if you want to catch me this weekend I would give me a ring on the house phone first.

Remember all those baby cards I made and remember that I went to clean up the craft room well *cough* *cough* the craft room didnt get cleaned, it got even messier but look at these.....arent they lovely? I am so so pleased with them.

Tomorrow in between all other chores the craft room will get put right, I promise. To prove it I shall take a photo (that means that I have to do it now).

If there are any stamperettes reading this that havent given me there January order....please email me.

Off for a quick cuppa and a quick tidy up, phew what a day.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you for reading my quick post.

Tuesday

Tuesday Twitter

Its been a damp day both outside and inside but hay, thats another day of work out of the way. The Stampin Up deliveries have arrived so I will be out and about tomorrow dropping off goodies where I can.

I cant believe that it's nearly the end of January already. Lots to look forward to in February though.

I thought I would show you my mad or organised cards that I have been making the last few weeks, just a bit here and there but these are all for the Christmas 2011 box

So far I have 33 cards ready and another 10 all cut out. We are supposed to be having our Christmas Card Club this Saturday but I have been told that the room is being used for the Drama Group. The next Christmas card club with be on Saturday 12th February and the theme is green. More details can be found on the Derby Dabblers blog.

I have a lovely evening organised in my craft room tonight. An order that has to get posted, an order for a new baby and a 50th birthday card but first, it needs a bit of a tidy up, nope still didnt get it done. I started to tidy things away but them I found some lovely card and then a stamp and I just wondered what they would look like together......you can guess the rest.

Have a lovely evening and thanks for having a read.

Monday

Baby, Baby, Baby....

I hope you all had a lovely weekend as I did. It started off with Ilkeston Dabblers on Friday night and it was so nice to chill and relax, can you believe that I sat there colouring in Christmas Cards, yep, that's right, I must either be mad or organised. Anne showed everyone how to make a box and a band. You must nip over to the Dabblers Blog HERE and see for yourself.
Saturday I had a cleaning day as well as lots of visitors, so I was able to catch up with all the latest news from everyone. I also finished 6 hours of ironing and got lots of job satisfaction from that. Sunday was spent in between my craft room, cooking and a bit of sorting. The intention was to clean my craft room, see what envelopes and other supplies I need but horror......I discovered that the baby cards I made last week had a mis spelling. Oh no. I had to redo them all crikey. By the end of the day I think I made enough baby cards to last me a while, dont you?

The next few cards are similar to those that I made last year

The next few cards have been made using the Stampin' Up! Baby Tees wheel

and my craft room still needs sorting, oh well, at least you all know what I will be doing tonight.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely day

Sunday

Me and Mr Internet have had a fallout

oh yes, a big fallout in the Rossos household. When you pay for something, you expect to receive it, when you rely on something always being there, your whole world turns upside down when it has gone and that is what is happening with my current internet provider. I only have internet for a few minutes and then puff.....gone. I have to turn off the computer, go to the main electrical switchboard, turn the switch off, count to 20, turn it on and keep my fingers crossed that the internet is back which, if it isnt, I have to start switching everything off all over again which is very frustrating. Paul has called Virgin who have fobbed him off and so we have to purchase something else from them (its a conspiracy). But on the plus side I cant tell you how much other stuff I am doing instead of sitting at the computer, well I can but its a big list of household chores.

Big apologies for no photos, no blog updates and if you have had an email from me, you are lucky. Hopefully things will get sorted soon so please, just be patient with me. If you do need some information about Stampin Up, Derby Dabblers or a question answering, my number is 01332 721877, please feel free to give me a call.

YEAH its Sunday and there is a lot happening in the craft room today (hopefully), after 6 hours of ironing yesterday and doing all my chores, my treat is to craft, craft and craft once I have cleaned it all up that is. You really cant walk in there at the moment so I looking forward to a good clean up and finishing off lots of cards. Am I the only one who makes such a mess when I am crafting? I would love to see your workspace after you have made a card or two.

Here is another card that I made using the musical note wheel. We shall be using a wheel on the next crafty night so if you fancy coming along to see what they are all about, just book your space, there are two left on Friday 11th February.

Hopefully this will post, fingers crossed

Have a lovely Sunday

Tuesdays Twitterings - Anne on a roll

As you all know, because I have mentioned it before, I had a Stampin' Up! party a couple of weeks ago. A really good friend of mine, Anne, helped out demonstrating the wheels. THANK YOU Anne. Here are a few of the cards that she made

The ladies had a lovely time watching her. The wheels are so versatile, especially when making a lot of cards the same. We shall be using a wheel at the next crafty week. If you would like more information on using wheels or a one to one session on Stampin' Up! or cardmaking just give me a ring on 01332 721877 or send me an email, tracey.rossos2@hotmail.com

Sunday

Soggy Sunday morning

Rain, rain, rain today, that's the forecast so what better place to be than holed up in my craft room. That is where I shall be today.
I have had a lovely week of crafting each night with wonderful ladies and here are the cards that we made

Last Wednesday I decided to try making a victoria sandwich cake goodness, I had trouble getting it out of the oven it was so big, sorry that not everyone got to try this. I promised my girls in Cyprus that I would put a picture on my blog of the cake. I cant ever remember baking one before, maybe I did it at school but I certainly dont remember it being such a whopper. I shall make another one for the Ilkeston Dabblers next week.

Yesterday I managed to have a bit of a clean up at home, well I had to really as downstairs resembled a craft shop and I am going to be needing the bits and pieces for today. Its nearly all away now which means I can have some time making baby cards.

Oh you all missed a treat yesterday. It was the first Christmas Card Club, there were 3 of us and we had a lovely couple of hours. I had intended on making around 5 cards but I wasnt that quick, I came home with 2 and a half cards but that is 2 and half less to panic about next December.

Thanks for having a read today and I hope you have a lovely day. Stay dry

Friday

Cant do it all

okay, I admit it, I cant do it all. Since I have been told I cant work 4 days a week (I have to work 5) I must cut down on some of the stuff that I do and organise...sad but I need a bit of sanity. Plus I have a wedding to organise as well, yes yes yes I am getting married, what do you mean it's about time.
So, first of all my Wednesday crafty nights have to get the chop. I love these evenings but 5 a week takes it toll, I am so so sorry about this but there are still lots of chances of booking onto the other 4 nights. All the details about the crafty week are on the right hand side of my blog. It gets updated regularly so you can see if there is a space available. The only thing I ask is that you pay in advance to secure your place.
The other thing to go is housework, I can see everyone agreeing with this. Ironing I dont mind doing so I shall continue, for now, but the other stuff, neah, I will get someone in to do it weekly rather than fortnightly and to be honest, she does a better job of it than I do. I cant cut down on the cooking as I am really lucky as Paul does most of it. The shopping I have already stopped doing on a weekly basis, no more supermarkets for me. I just nip locally and get what I need when I need it, so its a good start isnt it. Then there is the blog, only going to be updated 2 or 3 times a week (yes I know that may be more than its being updated at the moment) but I plan to get ahead with it all.

So there you have it, my news for a friday evening. Everything is all ready for my last crafting class of the week and I have had such a wonderful week.

Here are a few photos that Lesley took at the SU party last weekend

Thanks for having a read. Have a wonderful weekend

Wednesday

2 cancellations for tonights craft class

Due to illness, unfortunately 2 people have had to cancel their place on tonights crafty night. If you and a friend are free and would like to come along to make a couple of cards, have some homemade cup cakes and lots and lots of laughter, please let me know. We start with a cuppa at 7p.m. and sit down to craft at 7.30p.m. in Allenton, Derby. You can reach me at tracey.rossos2@hotmail.com or give me a ring on 01332 721877. You wont find any strangers here, just friends you have yet to meet.

Last weekend I held a couple of SU parties. We had a make and take with the Pocket Silhoutte Stamp set, one of the most popular stamp sets and certainly one of my favourites (but then I say that about all SU stamp sets). Anyway, I made an awful lot of samples using Pocket Silhouttes, a lot cased from the internet (thank you ladies for sharing your cards) and here are a couple of photos of just some that I made...there will be more to follow over the next few posts.

Well its the middle of the week, just a few more days and the weekend will be here phew. We have our first Christmas Card Club starting on Saturday morning and then it will be a chilled out weekend for me. I plan on watching a couple of films, catching up with family and generally not doing a lot.

Have a great day today, whatever you are doing and thank you for having a read.
