Birthday Card

Good morning, just.  It will soon be lunch time and today I shall attempt to make a vegetable soup.

Christiana is making a slow recovery, lots of aches and pains today which we cant explain so she will sit comfortably.  Lots of TV for her to catch up on.  I am feeling better than I have been and a walk in the fresh air yesterday made me feel a lot better.  Hopefully I will get out again later today.

Here is a card that was made for a friend on her birthday.  Silly me wrote in it before I took the photo but I just loved the inside so I took a picture anyway.

I havent been in the craft room since last Thursday, I do hope to get chance to get in there today.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely day.  Tracey x

Good afternoon and I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

Christiana is now home, thankfully and she will be picking up, bit by bit, over the next few weeks.  No news on the 'thumb' as we wont know anything for the next 8 weeks or so, yikes.  After a weekend in bed for me (picked up a tummy bug) I am starting to feel better myself today but we are having a week of 'getting over it all'.

Here is a card that was made for the second ward that Christiana stayed in at the Derby Royal

This has been made using the Jar of Love stamp set and dies in Rich Razzleberry.  The label has been created with using the new set of dies in Petal Palette Suite, it is just lovely for everything.

If you need anything from Stampin' Up! there is a cheeky little order going in tomorrow lunchtime, just let me know what you would like.

Would you like to join the Stampin' Up! family?  It is easier than you think and at the moment, there is an offer of £99 for £130 worth of products that you choose, plus TWO free stamp sets, plus free delivery to your door.  If you would like to know more, please do give me a ring.

Thanks for having a read and wishing you a lovely afternoon and evening.  Tracey x

Saturday

Quick Update and Thank You

Good morning and just a very quick post today, on this chilly morning.

Christiana was due to come home last night but after I was at the hospital for 5 hours, the doc said she couldnt leave.  She was devastated as she has been in for 13 days, 5 of those in isolation. She cant face any more hospital food or staring at the 4 walls.  So I took her to Costa for a pot of tea, which was nice.  She then had fresh Salmon and mashed potato from the beefeater opposite the hotel.  I rang and told them our predicament and said she really would like fresh food.  They were amazing and her dad walked over and picked up the meal.  She ate quite a bit of it and felt a little more human.  Lets hope her temperature gets a little lower today and she can come home.

The Cards in a Tin get together tomorrow will be postponed.  I am shattered so I really cant give it my full attention so we shall do it at a later date.  I do hope you dont mind.

Here is a little card that was made to say Thank You to the hospital ward that she was in last week.

Clean and simple but I really liked this.

Thank you for having a read and hope that you have a lovely Saturday.  Tracey x

Catching Up

Good morning and what a wet and blustery one it is.  13.5 degrees at half past 5 this morning and the wind, yikes.  It really has been blowing a gale.  I do hope no one has been affected by this and I also hope that my 'wellknown' fence panels are staying in place.  Just another short while before we get them changed.

Christiana was in hospital all last week, having her infusion in the hopes that it saves her thumb.  The treatment went well and we will know in 2 months if it is successful or not.  She came home on Friday night extremely tired, hungry and wanting a shower and sleep. She did sleep Friday night but on Saturday she was in bed most of the day and not too well with a headache and feeling off.  Well Saturday evening she started coughing and couldnt stop for over 2 hours, then she felt she couldnt breath so it was a 999 call.

The ambulance people were wonderful and her vital signs were very naughty so the poor mite ended up back in hospital.  She has been told that she has caught pneumonia whilst in hospital last week.  I was with her all night Saturday night until 7.30am Sunday morning as she had a reaction to one of the medications she received in recuss, making her eyes, face and hands go numb.  By the time it got to 7.30am she was in the medical assessment unit and they were giving her different medication.  This morning she feels a lot brighter and we are hoping that they will let her come home later but we dont know for sure, phew.  Her dad has even come over to visit her for a few days in the hopes that it picks her up.

As usual, family come first so the blog posts have been put on hold, until this morning.  It was a friends birthday last week and continuing with the Petal Passions theme of cards, this is what was made.

Some new goodies as well as some firm favourites were used as well as making an envelope liner, to finish it all off.  If you would like to make something similar to this next month please do let me know.  We can have a crafty get together, any excuse.

Tomorrow night is crafty night and there has been a cancellation.  If you would like to come along please get in touch as soon as possible.

Onwards and upwards as they say.  Thank you for having a read, thank you for all your wonderful emails and messages.  Wishing you a lovely day.  Tracey x

Good morning.

We have had a good weekend, lots of visitors so lots of news and catching up done.  It started with Friday night at Christmas card and chatter evening.  A lovely time was had although lots of folks took ill and couldnt make it.  Saturday saw me at a Scan n Cut meeting which was great.  I learnt quite a lot and cant wait to put it all into practise.  Paul came home too which was a great bonus and he finished installing the tv in the kitchen.  He is so clever.

Sunday was Pen Club in the morning, can you believe that 6 months have gone already?  The bits and pieces that were done at pen club need turning into cards and then I can share these with you.

Yesterday morning Christiana went off into hospital for the week.  We do hope that the treatment will help her with not just her internal organs but with her fingers too.  She is finding it extremely cold here so my heating is on all the time, yikes.  I dont think she will be continuing her break in the sun for a while as she needs a little looking after, bless her.  When she comes home we are going to try and get her a mobility scooter to enable her to go around supermarkets and large shops.  If you can recommend anywhere that sells/modifys mobility scooters , that would be great.

It was my sister in laws birthday last week and this is the card that was made.
I have used a 8 x 8 card, coloured in with SU crayons and lots of dazzling diamonds around too.  Here is a little close up

I shall be in the craft room from 11.00 until 3.00pm today if anyone would like to pop in for a visit?  Lots of lovely goodies waiting for collection.   Ooopps, I had best go and get ready for my day, I didnt realise it was so late.

Thanks for having a read.  Tracey x

Thursday

Thursdays post

Good morning.  Today is going to be a high of 7 degrees says mr. weatherman, which we can cope with.

Yesterday morning was spent catching up with Sandra and putting the world to rights, which was lovely. Another of my resolutions is to make more time for meeting up with friends each week and so far this year I have certainly done that.   The afternoon was spent helping Christiana so after a mad dash out this morning, I hope to be in the craft room all afternoon and evening.  Mr. UPS man arrived late afternoon with a few boxes.  I just love sorting out orders especially when I have friends to help with it.

Here is a card made with Petal Passion and Petal Pallette papers and stamps.  The bird and branch/leaves have been fussy cut although there are dies with the suite too.

This set will be used to make a card during our next get together on Friday 19th January.  Do you fancy an evening of card making, from 7pm for a couple of hours?  There will be refreshments and cake as well as plenty of crafty chatter and laughter.  If you do, please get in touch and I can give you more details.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a great day, whatever you are up to.  Tracey x

Happy Birthday Grandaughter

Good morning and what a wet one it is.  Well we shall get wet later as we are off out in the afternoon.  I say 'we' as Tana is home

She arrived yesterday morning so it was an off day for her, well it was such a long one leaving with her sisters at 3.30am UK time and not getting to bed until 10pm.  After a goods night sleep she will be feeling a lot better.

Here is the card that I made Millie, our grandaughter who turned 14 yesterday.  Such a pleasure to make.
And a bit of a close up of the mice.

It is an 8 x 8 card, something I am quite liking to use these days, makes it a bit more special. The stamps are from the stash but all the colours are SU inks and watercolour pencils which I do love to use.

Thanks for having a read today and dont forget we are getting together this Friday night for our first 2018 Christmas Card and Chatter nights.  It would be lovely to see you if you are free.

Good morning and we were up very early today.  Paul has nipped into work for a couple of hours before we go off and pick up Christiana, I do hope she has had a good flight.

I thought I would share a great bargain that I discovered late last year.  We ordered two sets of  2 beers and a glass in a presentation box.  It was on offer at £4 and I thought they would make lovely presents, reduced by half price too.

As I ordered them from Sainsbury and they didnt have them, the driver brought me two substitutes, both valued at £15 each but, as they were substitutes, I got them at £4.  What a great deal I got and Paul loved the beer.  When I told him the story he said it tasted even better.  I did try to do the same again a couple of days later but Sainsburys were already wise to it.

Here is a card that was made at the Stampin' Up! convention last year

It is using the wonderful Petal Passion papers along with the bird and sentiment from Petal Palette stamp set.  If you look close enough you can just see one of the beautiful leaf embellishments poking out of the punched starburst. These can all be found in the Spring Summer catalogue.  If you would like to see this card and more projects made with this set, please do feel free to pop in one afternoon or evening.

Thanks for having a read today and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday.  Tracey x

Monday

Thank You cards

Good morning and I hope you had a lovely weekend.  We certainly did and the de cluttering is in full swing.  The decorations got taken down and put away although the door wreath is still up.  I loved making it and dont want to remove it, oh well.

Christiana is flying home tomorrow.  She has a couple of health issues and mum is going to look after her which means that the poor needle on the electric meter will be wizzing around like crazy to keep the house warm, a small price to pay.  As Christiana arrives, Paul leaves, literally, opps.

Sale a Bration is in full swing as is the Spring/Summer Catalogue.  Please feel free to pop in tonight to collect your copies of both brochures or I can put them in the post to you later this week.  Here are the Thank You cards for this month from the new papers in this months suite I am using called Petal Passion as well as the sentiment stamp.

As well as the papers there is a stamp set, embellishments, embossing folding, thinlits dies, memories and more card pack and quite a bitmore.  Hopefully I can show you other projects over the next few days.

I have to go and sort out some driving glasses now......wish me luck.  Thanks for having a read.  Tracey x

Saturday

De Cluttering

Good morning and it is a brrrr morning.  2 degrees outside and silly me got up before the heating came on tut tut.  So I was huddled around a cuppa before the house got warm, I am sure that most folk reading this have done the same at some stage.  I cant get out of the cycle of going to bed at 9pm and waking at 5.00am.

This is the first weekend of the year and today is the start of the declutter.  We shall begin be taking our Christmas decorations down and put them away and at the same time, I shall have a few boxes in the hall, one for the local charity shop, one for rubbish and one for recycling.  I shall go through one room at a time until it is all done, bit by bit as and when I can.   I started by 'snoozing for 30 days' a few groups on facebook that fill my newsfeed.  My facebook is on all day so that I can communicate with the girls but I dont look at it constantly and when I do look at it, there are so many irrrelavant bits of information so I took action, get me.

The FOR SALE tab is up and running at the top of the page.  There will be items added each and everyday over the next month so if you want to grab yourself a bargain, keep popping back to see what there is.

Just one of the lovely Christmas gifts that I received this year was this.

It is sat next to my computer and is so handy already.  Thank you to George for making it for me. It has been made using Stampin' Up! papers, ribbon and card.

Well, its off to start throwing out oops I mean decluttering, sounds much nicer.  I hope you stay warm and dry today and thank you for having a read.  Tracey x

Thursday

Tea with Roger's mince pies

Good morning and what a very wet one it is today.  It has been raining for quite a while here in Derby and it isnt too warm out either.  I have just heard that storm Elena is still causing havoc oopps.  Our fence panels survived another gale but not sure how many more they can cope with.  Once the nice weather is here we shall hopefully get them replaced.

I thought I would show you a Christmas present I received.  It is a glass teapot and some flowering tea, this was our first (and last) go with it.

The tea wasnt too nice so the pot will be used for our normal brew, I do like a cuppa made in a tea pot though.  And what could be nicer than a cup of tea?  How about tea with homemade mince pies.

Sheila popped in and Roger (hubby) sent the mince pies and they were wonderful.  Thank you very much.

Not so long ago George came armed with a Victoria Sponge that Phil had made, which was stunning too.  My hubby doesnt bake, does yours?

Have you ever thought of joining Stampin' Up! to get yourself some wonderful bargains?  If you have, now really is the best time because for the price of £99 you can get yourself
  • £130 worth of products that you choose
  • Free delivery right to your front door
  • An additional 2 stamp sets up to the value of £90
  • Free business supplies
If you arent sure and would like some more information please get in touch and we can have a chat about it to see if this is for you.

Still not got your brochures?  I shall be in the craft room all afternoon and evening if you fancy a cuppa (non flowering).  Not local to Derby, not a problem, just give me a call.

My feet are getting really cold when I am in the craft room for so long so I am off to Dunelm to treat myself to a little rug.  Thanks for having a read and wishing you a wonderful day, despite the weather.  Tracey x

Wednesday

WOYWW-448

Good morning from a rather wet and windy Derby.  It isnt going to be too warm at 9 degrees or dry today as we will be getting showers  as well as the winds from storm Elena but as I hope to spend most of the day in the craft room I dont mind.

Thank you so much to all my lovely visitors last Wednesday and a Happy New Year to you all, it was so nice of you to leave a comment.  I tried to get round to as many as possible and I shall do the same again today.  If you are not sure what I am talking about?  Just nip HERE to Julias place and you will see how you can go and visit lots of crafting areas not just in the UK but elsewhere in the world too.
Here is my desk today which includes a lovely tin of biscuits in the shape of a radio.  I am hoping these biscuits get eaten soon as I would like to use the tin for something else.  The black silhouettes are something I would like to use in card making but not sure how to use them yet.

Yesterday Pam and I spent most of the day with our Scan n Cut machines and we learnt quite a bit.  We can now download files straight from the brother canvas site onto our machines via wifi.  We know how to change shape sizes, increase the number of items we want to cut out and we had a taster of welding (didnt quite work though) thanks for all your help Liz.  I am really trying to make a box/bag of some description and a card.....I will get there.  I think it is something you have to do every couple of days so that you dont forget things.  One of my New Year resolutions is to try and do something new each day and playing with my machine is certainly helping me keep that one.

Today I have a few birthday cards to finish and personalise so I will do the best that I can do throughout the day and then Paul will take them to the Post Office for me this evening, bless him.

It is also an exciting day in Stampin' Up! world as a new brochure came out today for Spring/Summer and the annual Sale a Bration catalogue starts too.  Please click HERE and it should take you straight to all the information.  If you would like your own personal copy of both brochures, please let me know and I will get one in the post to you tonight or pop in to pick one up.  More about these tomorrow.

Thanks for calling in today and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.  Tracey x

HOSTESS CODE FOR JANUARY XGFQ426C

Tuesday

2018

Good morning and a Happy New Year to you all.  It was lovely to see on social media all the well wishes for the new year, all the happy posts and all the good news.  Did you manage to see the wonderful firework display in London on the TV at midnight, it was amazing.  All the girls in Cyprus watched it too.

I know that lots of folks have taken their Christmas decorations down but not me.  Mine will be up until the weekend, 12 nights and all that.  As long as Paul doesnt go away to work and leave me here with the decorations for the next 2 weeks, imagine that, no dont.    Have you made any New Years resolutions?  New promises to yourself etc?  If you have please do let me know.

I apologise that I have not updated the blog cover page (it is still Christmas), no new hostess codes yet and generally not up to date but the world wont fall apart because of it.  Instead of sat in front of a computer I have had a lovely few days of family time and there is nothing more precious than that, I will get the blog done as soon as I can.

So Paul went back to work this morning as 1,000s of others did too now just where did those holidays go? And where did the few months of the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! Catalogue go also.  Today is the last day of ordering out of this brochure, if you need any help I shall be in the craft room from 2pm today, pop in for a cuppa.

That does mean that tomorrow is a whole new Spring/Summer brochure as well as Sale a Bration.  If you have already seen the new products and would like to order something, let me know before 10am in the morning and I will happily get it added to an order.  If you havent seen them yet please pop down and get your hands on them, and have a cuppa at the same time.

Last week we had a get together and here are some cards that were made with the Petal Garden Set of papers, stamps and memories and more kit.

So far 30 cards have been made and there are still elements left.  What great value it is.

Thank you for popping in for a read, hopefully the blog will be a little more up-to-date on your next visit.  I am being whisked off to the shop for an hour before having lunch and a crafty afternoon with friends.  Tracey x
