Midweek Musing where old meets new in the craft room

Brrr and what a good morning we have today.  It is -4 outside in Derby with a light shower of snow.  The ground is covered with snow and it is all white everywhere brrrrr.  No going out today, it will be a warm one in the comfort of home.
We did manage to get out yesterday, Christiana needed a hair cut so we popped along to our friend to get that done.  She was wearing 4 layers plus her coat and beautiful scarf as well as 2 pairs of gloves bless her.  The fresh air did her a bit good I am sure.  Again she had a day feeling slightly better than before but boy does she suffer with the pains.  One day at a time.

Here is where old meets new in the craft room.  Embossing skills needed an airing ready for a whole day of it soon.  The brand new Stampin' Up! Magical Day stamp set has lots of wonderful characters including this unicorn so it has been teamed  up with the WHOOSH stamp, which is embossed.  The sentiment is one from stash and I thought it was just perfect.
As well as the WHOOSH being embossed glitter has been added, to make it shine.  I am so pleased with the result.

Did you want to order anything from Stampin' Up!  I know of a little order going in later today.  There are lots of wonderful offers at the moment and if you have any queries, please get in touch.  As well as all the fantastic offers (especially the joining one) there are lots of sale items on the dresser in my craft room, I am adding to it each day.  If you are local and fancy a cuppa please pop round and have a look.

Thanks for having a read and wishing you a warm day.  Tracey x

Sale a Bration card

Good morning and what a bright morning it is here in Derby.  No settled snow, phew but there are a few flakes every now and again.  The temperature is minus something but the sky is blue.  It is another wrap up warm day today.

Well the twins are on their way home after a wonderful weekend in Athens.  One of their friends graduated from university so they took the opportunity to go for a visit, lots of shows, lots of coffees and a catch up with all their lovely friends staying in Athens.

Christiana and I ventured out yesterday to get a few thermal garments for her in the hopes it will keep her a little warmer in the days like today, when it is cold.  She did look all bundled and wrapped up when we left.  She has had a few hours sleep so we hope today will be a little better.

There were quite a few visitors to the Craft Room last Saturday.  It was lovely to meet some new friends and a big thank you goes out to everyone that came along.  Here is one of the cards that was made

It is part of a kit from Stampin' Up! Sale a Bration and it has everything inside that you need.  I chose the French 'Thank You" for my card.  Sale a Bration is still going strong.  If you fancy a cuppa and to find out a little more about Stampin' Up! or just a crafty chat, why not pop in after 2pm today as I hope to be in The Craft Room.

Off to try and do a few chores, thanks for having a read and dont forget to wrap up warm.  Tracey x

Monday

Waterfront Monday

Good morning and what a difference a day makes.  Here in Derby we have had snow, on and off for a few hours.  It is starting to settle on the path and garden but so far, the roads are clear.  The temperature is very cold, just below zero, so Christiana is not feeling the best about a day in the house.

Christiana is slowly starting to feel a little better, still not sleeping much and still getting quite a lot of pain but we took her out for some fresh air yesterday, boy was it fresh, a bit too fresh really.  Just look at that blue sky though.

Sophia and Katerina went to spend the weekend with friends in Athens, as they do.

Hopefully the blog will get a little more back to normal (whatever normal may be) now.  We had a wonderful week last week crafting away.  A big thank you goes to everyone who came along, it is so nice to spend time with lovely friends and laugh the evenings away.  Here is one of the cards we made

There was a choice to use either the palm trees or the pine trees and they all turned out wonderful and different.  Here is a little bit of a close up.

These have been created using the colours in the above photograph and a wonderful little stamp set called.   If you would like to make this card please let me know and we can arrange a little get together.  The details of the stamp set that was used are below

Should you wish to purchase this please let me know as I know of a cheeky little order going in on Wednesday lunchtime.

Thank you for having a read this morning and I hope you have a magical Monday.  I know Christiana and I will.  Tracey x

Magical Monday

Good morning and it is a good start to the new week, despite the rain.

We have had a lovely weekend, Paul took us out for the day on Saturday so it was a lovely break away from it all.  Yesterday was a pottering day and so the weekend was over, in a flash.

It was carnival time in Cyprus over the weekend and here is a sneaky little photo of Sophia (on the right).  She was dressed up to go to the night club, amazing.
So here we are, starting the week and Pippa will be joining us within the hour.  She is here for a few days and Christiana is so looking forward to it.  Speaking of Christiana, she is slowing feeling more herself and having a little more energy.  We are using a wheelchair for her at the moment when we go out but I am hoping that in time, she will be able to walk further and further as she gets stronger.

Here is a card that was made last month with a lovely group of friends

This has been made using the wonderful Petal Palette bundle, Petal Passion papers and lots more.  To colour the papers we used the foam roller and ink which means that you can colour any paper you want to match the project you are creating.  If you would like to know more about this, why not call round for a cuppa and I can show you.  The flowers and leaves have been coloured with the new Stampin' Up! blends and wow, they are lovely.  Really, I cant recommend them enough.  I know I said I wasnt going to get any, I know I said that I didnt need them but wow, they just match everything that I create.

Right, enough from me, it is time to do a little pottering.  Thanks for having a read and if you are free for either a crafty night on Friday or a Party on Saturday, or maybe both, please get in touch. Have a Magical Monday Tracey x

Wednesday

Valentines Day postponed

Good morning on this very cold start to the day.  It is brrrr out there so I shall stay in the house a little longer.

Unfortunately Christiana was back in hospital on Monday night.  We sat in A&E on hard seats all night long waiting to have tests and have results and again, the staff were fantastic.  The biggest fear was a blood clot in her lungs.  We discovered at 8pm last night that there wasnt one (17 hours later)  but the poor thing does have pleurisy and her Scleroderma condition has worsened.  She is now getting plenty of sleep to catch up on what we missed and needs a little bit more TLC.  So Paul and I decided to postpone our Valentines Day until Saturday when we have caught up on sleep and there is no panic.  We shall all have a lovely meal together and swap gifts and cards (which I need to make).

There is no crafty get together this week either I am afraid.  I need to spend a little more time with Christiana to make sure she is feeling better and on the road to getting as well as she can so this has also been postponed.

Thank you Jayne for the lovely flowers you gave us both, they are so pretty and colourful

and a thank you to Helen for your card.

Thank you for having a read today and I hope you have a very happy valentines day.  Tracey x

Friendships Sweetest Thoughts

Good morning and wow, the temperature really has dropped here in Derby.  It was -2.8 when I got up and now it is -1.4.  Far too cold for Christiana to go out too far.  She had a good nights sleep last night so hopefully today will be a little easier for her.

Well I went to start my new treatment and got sent away after 2 hours boo hoo.  The chest x-ray that I had a few months ago is showing something, possibly dormant TB.  I have to go and get that all checked out.  Then I need to have another test and only then can I start the new treatment.  A good old MOT for this lady, never mind.  I have been promised yet another steroid injection as when I need it so I shouldnt suffer too much.

Here is a card that was made last month with lots and lots of friends

It is a new stamp set, Friendships Sweetest Thoughts with some new SU ribbon, coloured in with the watercolour pencils and it has contrasting Rich Razzelberry card against the white.  The little die for the sentiment is new too. And here is the insert, all from the same stamp set.

If you would like to find out more or even make one or two yourself, please get in touch as I will be happy to show you how this has been done.

Well I have received a couple of boxes of crafting goodies so I shall be off to sort those out and then a few light chores.  Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday.  Tracey x

Tuesday

Tuesdays Twitter

Good morning and it is a bit of a white morning outside.  We had snow.  Not a lot but it did paint a pretty picture this morning.

After a very hectic, worrying and stressful weekend I am hoping the rest of the week runs smoothly.  Christiana was rushed into hospital, again, on Saturday morning and I think I have more or less camped out there until yesterday.  I am pleased to say she is home again.

No crafting done for a while, not even been in the craft room, yikes.

Today is the day that I start some new treatment. I am very apprehensive about it but full of hope that it well help me.

Here is a card made using some of Stampin' Up! pretty papers.   They may not be in the current catalogues now but they are still lovely.

A friend has had a knee op recently and I sent her this to let her know that I was thinking of her.

Fancy coming along to a Stampin' Up! party?

It would be great if you could come along for a couple of hours crafting, meet new friends and have a cuppa and some cake.

I am off for a potter and a bit of a catch up with some housework.  I think it will take me a month to do all the housework as there is just no time for it all (plus I am very slow these days).

Thank you for having a read and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday.

Friday

That Friday Feelig

Good morning.  So pleased it is Friday, the week soon flew past.  Fortunately it wasn't a hospital week this week but next Tuesday I shall go and start my treatment.  That means that there will be no crafting events until next Friday when it is Christmas Card Club.

My dad had his shoulder operation yesterday.  He was in hospital for the day but not overnight, which makes a difference as the hospital is so overfull at the moment.  Mum said he is doing well, no pain and he watched the whole thing, yikes.

I shall be in the craft room later today, sorting out, putting away and generally giving it a once over, something I am really looking forward to.

Last Saturday 6 of us from Derby and a couple from Pebmarsh met up in Peterborough and had a wonderful day with Crafty Lou.

This is one of the cards we made and I would like to thank everyone for all the help in making this.  It was a great day out and I look forward to the next one.

A little pottering for me now whilst the craft room gets warm.  Thanks for having a read and have a wonderful weekend.  Tracey x
