Monday

The last day of April

Good morning.  A lovely start to a new week, quite mild out and no rain (yet). We had a right mixture of a weekend, all good of course.  Lots of visitors on Saturday to my little sale.  There are still a few bits and pieces left so if you fancy a cuppa this week and a browse, please do pop in.  If you dont know where I am, please get in touch so that I can send you directions.  Met a lovely lady early Saturday morning *waving at Sue* and then yesterday we went out tile hunting but failed.  Spent the afternoon and early evening with Jayne *waving at Jayne* and Paul cooked for us, which was very good.  Then as soon as I sat down to watch TV, I fell asleep, oopps.

So today, being the last day of the month, means that I shall be putting a little order in with Stampin' Up! If there is anything that you need please please do let me know.  As usual there will be a 50p packing and posting charge when collected from the Craft Room.  Of course you are most welcome to order via the on-line shop which is open 24 hours a day and  p+p will be £4.95 delivered direct to your door.

I have been busy working out all the dates of our next get togethers.  I have decided to add a Saturday morning get together for all the working folks, as requested.  So from 10.30 - 12.30 once a month we shall have a crafty get together on Saturday.  I will send an email out to everyone that I know and update the blog as soon as I can with the dates

Here is a card that we made last week at one of our get togethers.

The wreath was stamped and cut as as were the table and chairs.  The awning and window was stamped and coloured directly on to the card and then the coloured and cut out elements were added.  I didnt add a sentiment to mine as I am unsure who it is for yet but it is a wonderful bundle to work with.  Unfortunately this is one of the bundles that will not be in the new catalogue and it has so many possibilities.  I can certainly recommend this.  If you would like some more information about this card and how it was made, please get in touch.

Well it is blood test day, bank, a little shopping before coming home to an afternoon in the craft room.  Thank you so much for having a read and do get in touch if you want to pop over or place an order or look through the sale items or... or... or....you dont need an excuse.  Tracey x

Lovely as a tree

Good morning and what a damp end to the week.  We have drizzle here in Derby but it wont spoil the day.  Christiana is still struggling but I am hoping that another day of rest and she should start to feel strong enough to do things again, we believe that it is the pleurisy that is the culprit still.

We have had a fantastic week of crafting and I have loved every minute of it.  I do feel so very blessed to have such wonderful friends.  Thank you to everyone for being there for me. The world has been put to rights, we have caught up with all the good news as well as bad and we can all manage until next month.

Lovely as a tree is an amazing stamp set.  It has been in the UK Stampin' Up! book for as long as I know and it has had a little bit of an airing.

Everyone loved this and the possibilities with this set are still endless.  I think I may be using it for some Christmas cards at our next get together.  To create this we used masks of photo copy paper and quite a bit of tape.  If you would like to have a go at making this why not get in touch and I would be very happy to show you how.

I am having a sale in the craft room.  There will be lots of things available for the next week so if you fancy a rummage and a look see please do pop in.  I shall be adding things daily from stamp sets to papers and cards and ink pads and, and, and......when it has gone, that is it.  I need to make room for some more cupboard doors.

Lots of new items will be available next week to order, new ink pads, bundles plus more.  I shall be sharing all this news with you and as always, the online shop is open and I am very happy to answer any queries you might have either in person over a cuppa or via email.

Right, it is Friday, I have that Friday feeling and will start with some pottering in the house.  Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely weekend.  Tracey x

Swaps

Good morning and what a lovely sunny day it has started to be.  Mind you yesterday started sunny and then it rained all afternoon and evening, fantastic for the plants.

We managed to get out yesterday, a lovely time was had in Derby and we managed to purchase the things that were needed, which is always a bonus.  Lunch out in a little cafe watching the world go by.

As soon as we got home I am afraid Christiana took poorly.  She had a major coughing bout lasting for nearly 3 hours fortunately, it did subside.  On the plus side, her lung consultant telephoned in the middle of all this and he heard her and suggested a medication which may be able to help so that was good.  He will call her today to discuss it with it.  I feel very blessed that this busy many in such a high position at the hospital has taken the time to get in touch.  More good news is that her lungs have not deteriorated, phew.  She has to have a test to see if she is safe to fly, something we haven't heard of before.  It is usually 6 - 8 months to get this test but the consultant has arranged it for next week which is wonderful.  This does mean that we will not be jetting off this weekend but it wont be long and I am all prepared for it whoop whoop.

Here are a couple of swaps that I received at my recent trip to Telford.  Arent they cute, thank you ladies.

The next Stampin' Up! event is in November in Birmingham.  Would you like to attend this with me?  It is open to all demonstrators and it is a fantastic experience.  The main event is all day and as it is in Birmingham, just 45 minutes on the motorway or a quick train journey away, it isnt difficult to get to.  Of course there is the added bonus of a lunch at John Lewis on the way there if staying overnight.  If this is something you would like to do please get in touch and I can tell you all about either being a hobby demonstrator selling to your family, friends and purchasing yourself or a demonstrator who would like to go and hold parties/classes etc.  It is easier than you think and I know it is one of the best things that I have ever done.

I am being brave and off for a pedicure and an hours pampering of the feet.  I know I will feel so much better afterwards.  Thanks for having a read and wishing you a wonderful day x

Good morning and whilst it is still warm today, it isnt going to be as hot, which I dont mind.

Yesterday was a great start to the week and to continue the theme (of having a good week), we are off into town today to buy a few bits and pieces we need.  It should be a lovely time out and I am looking forward to seeing what is new.

The garden isnt looking its best this Summer, mainly because I am struggling to get out there and we have been so focussed on the kitchen something had to give.  Having said that, we do have some wonderful blooms

I am still not great at taking photos but you get the picture so to speak.

I have been catching up with some kits.  These are nearly 9 years old.  They were originally cards made in a class and I put the kits together of all the products that I had left. I loved making these and will have so much pleasure finishing off all the other little bits and pieces that I have.  I expect it is the same for all us crafters.

Thank you for having a read today and I do hope you have a lovely day. Tracey x

Monday

Moments

Good evening.  Life is getting rather busy here and, as usual, the blog is the first thing to put on the back burner whilst we get on with all we have to do.

After an amazing weekend catching up with so many chores it was lovely today to have an afternoon crafting with such wonderful friends.  Thank you for making Monday a nicer day.

Speaking of nice people, just look at what a very special friend made for me recently.

Not only was the box amazing but inside I got a mat, a chocolate bar and tea bags.  I can tell you that the tea bags have been used and the chocolate bar has been eaten.

The mat is now sat in my craft room and I use it every day that I go in there with my cuppa.

I have been asked to make a few cards like this so if you would like to join me, please let me know so that we can arrange a date.

Time to go and put my feet up for a while before it is time to go to bed.  Thanks for having a ready and wishing you a lovely evening. x

Wednesday

Hope your day is Magical

Good morning.  It is supposed to be hot today so I am up early and spending yet another hour or two with kitchen bits and pieces.  It is the cleaning materials, dusters and what not that are getting sorted today.

I had a lovely time yesterday afternoon and evening as lots of time was spent in the craft room with lots of wonderful visitors, we certainly put the world to rights.

Today I have a few errands to run as soon as my hands are able, I am struggling with them unfortunately.  The steroid injection didnt work its magic??? waiting to hear from the hospital to see what I can take now that I am on all the latent TB medication....one day at a time.

Here is a magical birthday card that was made a few weeks ago.  I just love this, very vanilla and greens, it looks lovely together.

I know the stamp set will be retiring but it will be staying on my shelves for a while longer.  If you would like to make a card similar please let me know and we can arrange a get together.

Lots of talk on internet sites about all the new colours that Stampin' Up! will be bringing in, those that will be leaving etc. etc. so I hope the following will help you understand what is happening

If you would like more information, see the new colours for yourself or fancy a crafty chat and a cuppa let me know.  I will be happy to meet up with you.

Right, lets get started with the day.  Thanks for having a read and I do hope you have a wonderful day.  Tracey x

Good morning, its a bit dull here but Mr. Weatherman has said that once we get the tail end of the rain, we should have sunshine and lovely temperatures for a few days so my fingers are crossed.

I am still putting my kitchen back together and whilst it is taking longer than I thought it is so lovely to see all the things that I have.  This does mean that I have too many bits and pieces but what do I do with them all?  If you need anything kitchen wise from a rolling pin to a vase or measuring jugs etc. etc. please do let me know.  You can come for a rummage or if you know of anyone just setting up home, these items are here for the taking.

The craft room got visited for a couple of hours and I am making room in there too, arent I being good.  The sales table is getting busier and busier, I will start to advertise items soon.

Here is one of the items I got from On Stage in Telford made by a lovely friend that I only get together with at Stampin' Up! events.

It is sat on my desk so I see it all the time and I have filled it with my important bits.  Thank you.

Right, off for more sorting of the kitchen and in the craft room this afternoon.  Thanks for having a read.  Tracey x

Make Room Monday

Hi, thanks for popping in today, did you have a good weekend?  We did, putting more of the kitchen away etc. but we did manage to escape for a couple of hours yesterday.  We went to Denby Village Spring Fair and although the weather wasnt the best we did have a nice time.  Here is Christiana with her lunch

The weather has certainly picked up today, so much so that I have washing blowing on the line.  The only problem there is that it will need ironing later, yaks.

Here are this months Thank You cards which I loved making with the new slim card and envelopes.  If you havent seen them yet, they are worth checking out.

I stamped the tree on the card once I had used the markers as as ink pad and coloured the stamp in.  A little play with the aqua painter, a sentiment and I am really happy with the result.  If you would like to have a go and make some cards like this, please get in touch.

Time to sort out a few crafty bits to put on the sale dresser on my make room Monday.  Have a great day x

Piano Card

Good morning and whilst I may not be working, I still get that Friday feeling. I cant believe that it is still raining.  On the positive side, the plants are all in bud and the garden will soon be in full bloom, cant wait.

Yesterday was a bit and bob day but I did manage to get my bedroom straight.  I had so many 'extras' in it from the kitchen that it didnt feel like a bedroom but now it does.  The kitchen is looking good, we dont have a floor yet nor the tiles on the wall but I can use it as a kitchen and we are cooking, phew.

Tonight is Christmas card and chatter night and for £1 (for the tea and biscuit tin) it is a great chance to have some crafting fun and meet up with like minded people.  If you are local to Derby why not pop in, it would be lovely to see you.  If you need venue directions, just get in touch, all details are on the right hand side of the blog.

Here is a card I have to share with you. The keys were made with a retired punch which I just cant part with.

Paul loved it and I loved making it.  I shall give it another go with a grand piano design.

Thanks for having a read, have a wonderful weekend and I will be back on Monday x
