Card Challenge day number 29 - Art Gallery

Good evening.  What a strange last day of the year it has been.  It has been a right mix up of a day, not quite sure of what I have achieved today but my to do list has only two things crossed off, walk to the post office and empty the ironing basket.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day (or year).

I do have a card to share with you, so that will be another item crossed off the list.  I have used the Art Gallery set again to make this card

This time I used some different dies that are in the bundle, which I think can be for any and every occasion.  This is day 29 of my 30 day challenge.  The stamp set and the dies will be available to purchase from 5th January.  I love the words in this die set and cant wait to create more with them.

I hope you are having a nice and a safe New Years Eve and I look forward to sharing more with you, next year.  Thank you for having a read, Tracey x

Card making challenge day number 28 - Art Gallery Bundle

Good morning,  no snow out there this morning but it has been forecast for later today in Derby.  The temperature is below freezing so I shall stay wrapped up warm in the house.  I am rather sad that I havent been for a walk for a couple of days but I will get back into it again soon.  I am so afraid of slipping when I go out in the frosty and icy conditions.

Stampin' Up! are launching their new January - June catalogue as well as a Sale a-Bration brochure in just 6 days time.  It is a very exciting time for us demonstrators as we have already seen all the wonderful things inside and we cant wait to share them with you.  If you are local to me in Derby and would like a brochure, you are most welcome to call in to get one if you are out and about or I am very happy to get one posted out to you today (well hubby will go to the post office).

Today is my card challenge day number 28 and I have used some new products, from the January-June catalogue.

  • I started off with a Thick Whisper White card base (an A4 sheet cut in half, vertically).
  • I took a quarter of a piece of A4 and ran it through an embossing folder called Painted Texture and this is a 3D embossing folder so the details really stand out.  Of course if you want a little more muted texture, the Subtle embossing folder works just great.
  • I picked my colour (shown are Burmuda Bay, Highland Heather and Rococo Rose).  And I coloured in my pearls with the same coloured blending pen.  You need to colour your pearls in early so that that they are dry by the time you put them on your card.
  • I stuck the coloured card to the base card and then the textured card to the coloured card leaving a border allthe way around.
  • I inked up the flower from Art Gallary stamp set using the same coloured ink as the card and I went over the leaves of the flower with Old Olive Stamp n Write marker and dabbed the ends with a Garden Green Stamp n Write market to give it a two tone effect.
  • Of course you have to 'huff' on the stamp before putting it on to Whisper White card.
  • I ran this through the die cutting machine with the co-ordinating die (yes you can purchase this as a bundle and save yourself 10%).
  • Some linen thread was added and all I can say is that it is a little fiddly so make sure you use a longer length of thread and trim it down when you have got a nice bow.
  • The Sentiment is from the same Art Gallary stamp set and I put that on to some banners from the Tasteful Labels die set, which you can purchase now.  I must admist that any spare bits of white card I get, I run through and make lots of these labels so they are always at hand.
  • Both the flower and the sentiment have been stuck to the card using 3D foam pads/dimensionals.
  • The 3 pearls were added, in an elongated *smiling at Sally*) triangle.

If you would like to see how this card was made please get in touch as I shall be having a facebook live on Saturday, 9th January at my catalogue launch party and I would love to send you details on how to join us. All the products that I have used which are available to purchase now, are listed below.  As from 5th January you can purchase the new items.

Thank you for having a read today.  I hope you have a great day Tracey x

Card Challenge Day 27 - Life is Beautiful

Good morning, I had a lie in today, it was so quiet.  Then I opened the curtains and discovered why it was quiet. Snow and a fair bit of it too.  I dont mind the snow as I dont have to go out of the house.  If I was at work I would hate it as I dont like to drive in it nor walk in it.  So I am a happy bunny today.

It also means that I get to spend the day in the Craft Room again today, how lucky am I?  I want to use a new stamp set and get the birthday cards for January all finished.  Only a couple more to do.

So today is day 27 of my 30 day Card Challenge.  For this I would like to share this card with you.

I am so pleased to say that I shall be have a Zoom get together to show you and anyone else that joins in, how to make this, later in the week. I have used Life is Beautiful stamp set from Stampin' Up!  but you can use any tree stamp, leaves, birdhouse etc. along with a sentiment.  It involves lots of different techniques, stamping, blending, masking, using inks and more.  The details are below if you would like to join in with us.

One of the easiest things to use, to blend with, are these new blending brushing that Stampin' Up! have and will be available on 5th January.

They make blending so easy and once you have used them, you can wash them out, leave them to dry and use them again.  If you would like to find out a little more about these brushes, please do get in touch

Challenge Cards Day 26 - Dragonfly on a Monday

Good morning and what strange weather we have at the moment.  It is 0 degrees outside, the sky is gray and I need the lights on in the house as it is dark.  Mr. Weatherman has just told us that it is snowy rain that is expected today and we shall have a high of 2 degrees.  ooppps.

It is day 26 of my card a day challenge so only a few days left.  For todays card I thought I would share another Dragonfly Garden card with you showing some of the wonderful patterned papers.

  • I started off by stamping the main image on to Shimery White card which is perfect for painting on with inks and water.
  • I also stamped the dragonfly on to the same card.
  • I coloured the dragonfly in using Calypso Coral ink in the lid of the ink pad and one of the aqua painters.
  • Once the image was dry, I punched it out using the co-ordinating punch.
  • I mounted both the sentiment and the floral image onto Calypso Coral card, which is also the colour of my base card.
  • I put a piece of the lovely patterned paper onto the card base using wet glue, giving me a little wiggle room if I didnt get it straight. I left a little border around the edge of the paper so that the Calypso Coral card could be seen.
  • The floral image and the sentiment was then adhered to the card base, using 3D foam pads/dimensionals.
  • I finished it off by going over some of the flower heads and dragonfly with Wink of Stella, just to add a little sparkle.

This stamp set and co-ordinating punch, along with other items will be available to purchase on 5th January when the new Spring/Summer brochure comes out from Stampin' Up!  I shall be having an on line launch party on Saturday 9th January and if you would like to come along and join us, please get in touch so that I can give you all the details.

All these designer series papers are still available to purchase at discounted prices.  Should you want a pack or two please let me know and I can get it ordered for you and you can collect from Alvaston.  Or why not order it online to be delivered directly to your door.

Thank you for having a read today.  I hope you have a smashing Monday, what ever you are up to.  Tracey x
