Dressed to Impress

Good morning.  It feels a bit warmer today which is good.  Mr. weatherman says Derby will be 13 degrees with a passing shower, that is rather warm.  Larnaca will be 16 degrees but cloudy.  The girls have already said it is very windy there today.

Another lovely day yesterday, visits from mum and dad at lunch and I am pleased to say that they are both doing really well.  Then it was coffee in the afternoon and tea at night with friends.  In between it was operation craft room.  All but one dresser, the Christmas corner and one unit have now had their contents taken out, cleaned, some returned and some put on the FOR SALE pile.  The lights have all been cleaned and new extension wires put up.  Not too much to do today before putting it all back together, so exciting.

Last night we had a play with the Best Dressed stamp set and co-ordinating Designer Speciality Papers.  This is what Sheila made

I adore the colours and it is just so girly.  I am thinking that maybe we should have an evening making cards with just this stamp set, co-ordinating dies and papers.  Lets see what dates we can come up.

It is haircut day today, 8 weeks since my last cut and I think I need a radical change.  I think I will go very short for a while, it is good to change.

Dont forget tomorrow, as if you could.......If you need my address, please get in touch.

Thank you for having a read today and I hope that you have a fantastic Friday x

P.S.  Below are details of the products used to make the card shown.  If you click on one of these, it will take you directly to the Stampin' Up! shop where you can purchase the items.  If you would like to find out more on how to do this, please do let me know.

The Gangs all Meer

Good morning and boy its coad (cold) at  6 degrees in Derby at the moment.  We are hoping it will go up to 12 degrees says Mr. Weatherman with some rain but who knows.  The weather in Larnaca today is 14 degrees with sunshine, so not too much difference.  I have been asked why I mention the weather on my blog and the answer is that my girls and Cypriot family read the blog and they are sometimes quite amazed at our snow, the hail and the frost, so I shall continue with this.

Yesterday my amazing husband fininshed the painting of The Craft Room.  It is all spruced up, looking fresh and smells divine although the windows will be open all day today to get rid of the smell as not many folk like it.  So today I will be sorting out the other half of the room that I havent been able to do up to now in the hopes that by 6pm tonight it will be just about ready.  I have taken out all the ornaments, all the wall hangings are down and all the things that I am going to sell are piled in boxes.  So now my whole house looks like a craft room and Paul doesnt complain at all.  How come I am allowed to make a mess and it doesnt bother me but when he makes a mess I get upset......I am strange.

Last night Julie and Diane came to help out with making card samples for Saturday.  For some reason the stamp set we were due to use, we couldnt find.  It was on the craft room desk and someone put lots and lots and lots of things on top of the desk so he could paint......I cant complain can I.  So we used a FREE Sale a Bration stamp call The Gangs All Meer, a meerkat themed set.  It is so much fun to use.  This card was inspired by Pintrest and made by Julie with some blending and colouring in.  I think it is fantastic.
If you would like to find out more about getting your hands on this stamp set, why not pop in on Saturday and over a cuppa and some cake, I can tell you all about it.

I have had a bit of a lie in today so off to grab breakfast and get in The Craft Room.  Thank you for having a read and I hope you have a great day.  Tracey x

Wednesday

Painted Poppies and a full suitecase

Good morning and here I am, up at the crack of dawn.  I think my sleep pattern does tend to be a bit hit and miss when we return from Cyprus so it's early to bed and early to rise for another few days until I settle.

Great progress has been in the craft room, the skirting boards have all been painted, the two window sills are now painted and I had many hours saying YES or NO to craft items that havent been used for a while.....if at all.  The rubbish bin got filled a few times (it is a small one) and the big pile that Paul put in the middle of the room has dwindled very slightly.  I shall be in there all day today too trying to have a major sort out.

So I now have a table in the conservatory with essential crafting items on it and a big table in the kitchen to craft on, (where I and the majority of our crafting friends started crafting all those years ago).  Last night Diane and Denise popped round to have a play with the Painted Poppies stamp set, dies and Designer Series Paper, nothing else at all and they helped me make a few samples for Saturdays' Open Day.  Here is just one of the many made.  This was made by Denise.

I can certainly recommend that you get out just one stamp and one die and the papers and play.  We had a great time and came up with lots of ideas.  I really dont know where the time went. If you would like to see the samples in real life so to speak, please do pop round on Saturday at anytime after 10.30, kettle will be on and it will be lovely to see you.

If you would like to have a play with the Layered with Kindness Stamp this evening and create a few samples with me, please feel free to join me after 6.30pm tonight for a couple of hours.  You dont need to bring anything with you, just let me know you are coming round.

I was very lucky to get a wonderful vase from Sophia and Katerina at Christmas.  They wanted me to bring it home to use it, which I did.

As you can see, nothing else was able to fit into my suitecase, at all.  I put some flowers in it yesterday and just adore it.
That does mean that a few of my older vases will now need a new home.  I really do have far too many of them.

Thank you for having a read today.  Hope you have a lovely day Tracey x

The Craft Room Revamp

Good morning and back to the 2 degree mornings although the house is a lot warmer here than it was in Cyprus.  It is good to be back.

After we unpacked yesterday, Paul helped me move the craft room bits and bobs, shelves, dressers, units etc. all into the middle of the room. Tape was then stuck to the floor and the painting of the skirting boards started.  I dont know what I would do without him.  I went on line to find where sold the paint and guess what.....it has been discontinued.  I had a panic.  At 7.30pm last night we nipped out and a lovely chappie at Homebase made us some up.  Its expensive but well worth it.  Here is the progress so far.

So today once we have had breakfast, it is back in the craft room painting the walls and having a major declutter.  However, I do have a table set up in the conservatory with some essentials so that we can work on making some samples for the OPEN HOUSE this Saturday.

If you are free for a while please do come to say hello.  Plenty of cake, a cuppa and some samples and brochures to see.  It would be lovely to welcome you into my revamped space (if it is finished).

I wanted to show you these wonderful pegs of ribbon I received at Christmas
I was so very pleased to receive these so I thought I may wrap up some of the ribbon I have in the craft room and make them into gifts.  Such a lovely way to share something pretty.

I shall be placing an order later today with Stampin' Up!  Should you wish to add to the order, please do let me know before 6pm.

Off to have an early breakfast and make an early start.  Thank you for having a read today.  Tracey x

Tuesdays Twitter

Good morning and the blue sky is back.  Yesterday it was very gray and wet but we did some amazing sight seeing.

Here are some lovely crafty bits from Diane.  She has used some lovely new stamps that I have fallen in love with, bonanza buddies.

You will be seeing more of these over the next few months.

I have moved the date of my get together/open house to 1st February by demand.  If you are free on that day and fancy a cuppa, some cake and look through the SU catalogues, see some samples and even have a go at card making, please call into The Craft Room.  Doors are open all day and the kettle will be on.

Off to finish some pretty wine bottles.  Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a great day.  Tracey x

Saturday

Birthday Card

Good morning and it is the weekend.  It actually feels like the weekend too as I didn’t get up till nearly 10am.  The hunters woke me up, yes there is hunting in Cyprus and the sound of the guns got me out of bed.

We had a very lovely day yesterday, visiting family in the morning and making new friends in the afternoon with a bit of retail therapy in between.  Debenhams have such a great sale on here that it’s hard to resist.

It was Janes birthday yesterday and this is the card that I made for her using House Mouse stamps.  I hope you had a lovely day.

Thank you for having a read and have a great weekend.  Tracey x

Wednesday

Wonderful Wednesday

Good morning and it’s really cloudy today.

The temperature is due to be 16 and rain tonight.  I think it is a bit warmer than home.

A little more colouring has been done using Stampin’ Up! Watercolour pencils.  The original image has been stamped onto SU shimmery white card which is perfect for adding water colours to.  I hope to get a little more done today.

Yesterday we made it to Ikea, for lunch.  Managed to get the extending tea towel rail for Katerina and Paul is going to put it in later this afternoon.  We also went to visit my sister in law and family before going for dinner with the twins.....take away cyprus kebabs, beautiful.

Sale a Bration is well under way. This is where you can purchase SU products for £45 and get FREE stamp sets, or designer series papers or embellishments.  To find out more please do get in touch.

Thank you for having a read today and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.  Tracey x

Happy Birthday Granddaughter

Good morning and it’s very cloudy here today.  Not a problem as we are off to Ikea for Katerina.  It’s in the capital and is not as big as we have in Nottingham but the meatballs are the same, so it’s lunch there today.

Yesterday was another lovely day, didn’t achieve too much but that was fine by us.

It was Millie (second eldest granddaughter) birthday last week, she was 16. This is the card that was made for her.

I am looking forward to spending some time in the craft room soon, repainting (same colour) and sprucing up. Out with the old, sale of lots of craft things and look out Trisha, I can see you getting quite a few bags of crafting bits.  Trisha collects unwanted craft supplies and pops them into bags and sells them on to help the local Derby community.

Thanks for having a read today and I hope you have a terrific  Tuesday.  Tracey x

Monday

Monday morning

Good morning and it is blue skies here at the moment, always a good start to the day.  Not too sure how long this will last but the temperature is due to be around 18 degrees.

The girls asked for lemon cake last week so I obliged. I even found cake boxes to transport said cakes, I just hope I get them both back.

We had a trip out to a resort where I used to live and couldn’t believe all the changes that have been made, it’s only been a couple of years since we were last there....progression.

I managed to catch a view of the sun just going down a couple of days ago, on our local nature reserve.

Yesterday, being Sunday, I went to Katerinas for brunch (American pancakes around 11am) and then in the evening it was our turn to cook.....Sunday roast with yushpud studdin.  It was lovely.

We have watched series 1, 2 and 3 of the crown and wow.  If you haven’t seen it I can certainly recommend it, a great drama with some amazing acting.

Well I will go and start my day, a little colouring is in order today and a general chill out. I shall be placing a little order this evening from Stampin’ Up!  Would you like me to add anything to the order?

Thank you for having a read and I hope you have a great start to the week.
