Friday

Charleigh turned 6

Good morning and I cant believe that it is the last day of July already, that went rather quickly considering the circumstances.

I shall be placing a Stampin' Up! order later today.  If there is anything that you would like adding to the basket please do get in touch.  If you would like to have a chat about Stampin' Up' products, the weather forecast for today is very nice so you are most welcome to pop round.  Just let me know when you hope to be here so that I can be sure no one else visits at the same time.

We have had a smashing week.  Finally finished off all the decorating despite rain coming through our new ceiling last weekend and then discovering the hearth was smaller than the previous hearth and Paul had to add concrete to level everything out, tut tut. But it is a job well done and we are finally having the capet fitted today.

Lots of things happening in the garden, just look at the size of this flower.
I made Paul stand next to it so that we can get an idea of the height of it, so unusual.  And you can see the bright orange Dhelia that has grown tall too.

We also took off cucumber No. 3 and have 2 more that are nearly ready.  A big thank you goes to Roger for our cucumber crop again this year.

The tomatoes are not quite ready.  They just having turned red as yet but we have been picking a few off to have with our lunch times salads.  I am afraid the lettuce failed and we have sown some more, just to try.  The carrots well, we planted lots and this is all we have come through

The rest have vanished.

It was my neices daughters birthday earlier this week and to help with bubbles and families and meet ups, we went to see her at my mums for an hour, outside in the sunshine.  It was lovely, I cant believe she is 6.  This is the card that I made her

I was also asked to make a card from her Aunt and from her Mum so I will share those will you soon.
Dont forget Bonus Days.

We have started going for a walk twice a day to help with the weight loss and to feel that I am actually going out and about and it is been wonderful.  We have seen lots of wonderful ideas of what to do with the front of the house (Paul is still painting it as and when he gets chance).  And we have discovered new streets around us that we didnt know existed.  So lots happening and lots to keep us busy.  I am currently finishing off half made projects ready to send out.  Thank you for having a read today.  Tracey x

Should you place an order online, please do use the hostess code for July.
If you would like to get in touch, I do like hearing from everyone, here is where you can find me.

No layer Wedding Anniversary card

Good morning.  I do love Fridays.  I am hoping that by lunch time the painting of the sitting room is complete and that we can have a weekend off and do other things.  Just over half way round to go.  We have gone for the colour Caramel Latte for a change.  It really shows off the nice white woodwork and hopefully will compliment our new furniture which is terracotta.  Arent we brave

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and this is the card that I made for hubby
He prefers a no layer card and he says that the other types are just squares on squares.  He was very happy with this.  The stamp is a very old one from my stash and the sentiment was computer generated.  The clouds were created using Stampin' Up! inks and a template.  I coloured the image in using Stampin' Up! inks with a water brush and am really pleased with it.

As I cant go to the shops, hubby went out and purchased a joint present, we got a Hydrangea.  It is lovely.

He also purchased another two poorly ones that should come back nicely with a little TLC.

It is Zoom time tomorrow at 3pm.  If you fancy having a go, please get in touch.  Our get together earlier this week was lovely.

If you joined us on Wednesday you are most welcome to come back again tomorrow, we dont mind.

There is just 10 days left to take advantage of the Bonus Days offer from Stampin' Up!  Please do get in touch if I can help in anyway.

Thank you for having a read today, I hope you have a fantastic Friday and as the weather is nice over the next few days, if you fancy a visit and a cuppa, just let me know.  Happy to sit outside and have a chat x

Tuesday

Just saying hello with Prized Peony

Good morning and already the sun is out.  To me that means a little more time in the garden in between the craft room.

I am really pleased to say that the wallpapering is now complete phew.  The electrician came back last night and installed lights in our wonderfully newly plastered and painted ceiling.  The lights are smashing and as we have our dimmer switch back, we can change the brightness of them.  However....always a but.  The electrician made two holes in error and not little one either.  So now the holes are plastered over but they have to be sanded and plastered and sanded again.  The painted and hopefully you wont see that they are there, oh well.

We are having a crafting Zoom session tomorrow and on Saturday if you would like to join in.

Please get in touch if you fancy joining us and let me have your email address.  I can then send you an invitation.

I had another play with the Prized Peony stamp set recently and created these, which are in the Stampin' Up! cataglogue.  A bit of colouring and a bit of fussy cutting.  Really enjoyed it.  I added some new to me little dots, which just shine so much in the sunlight.  If you fancy making something similar I would be very happy to tell you how to do these, just let me know.  The sentiment 'Just Saying Hello' is from a stamp set called Tasteful Touches and is just perfect for these strange times.

Well I had best go and start my day.  Thank you so much for having a read.  Wishing you a terrific Tuesday, Tracey x

A little bit of masking

Good morning and we have a great start to a new week with the weather.  The forecast says it is going to be 18 degrees today with sun and some clouds.  That is lovely as far as I am concerned, just warm enough.

Yesterday we managed to get the majority of the wallpapering done.  We have just one beam remaining which we shall tackle first thing.  It has been well worth it as the room looks lovely, clean and fresh.  Next it will be to add some paint to the walls but we may take an afternoon off and start it tomorrow.  The electrician is due later to make the holes in the ceiling (that we just painted- the royal we that is) and bring down the wires to attach to the lights.

I have used an older retired stamp set to make some cards using a masking technique.  We did this on a zoom get together so that people could have a try out at this technique and what great results we got. By masking off the middle flower, I added two other flowers either side and then the leaves.
This can be done with almost any stamp.  Of course I had to make the matching envelope liner to finish the set off.
UPDATED - The stamp set I used, is not at older retired one, oppps.  It is a current one and one I can really recommend. It is called Healing Hugs and has the most wonderful, distinktive flowers on the stamp out perfectly.

This week we shall be making a no layer card on our Zoom get together.  Wednesday at 2pm and Saturday at 3pm.  A little bit of sponging/dusting to create a shaped background through a template which we shall make ourselves, a little light stamping and some darker coloured stamped images.  If you would like to join us, here is a list of what you will need.
  • a shaped template, to colour and stamp through.  You can get this by die cutting one of your larger dies in the middle of a piece of card or paper.
  • a script stamp of some description or something with a small delicate pattern.
  • a stamp.
  • a card base.
  • a light coloured ink pad and sponge, dauber or duster brush for creating the background.
  • a darker coloured ink pad to add some kind of script writing on top of the lightly coloured background.
  • an even darker coloured ink pad to add another stamp on top of the background and script.
I shall be using Very Versailles stamp set and using the script stamp as well as the falling leaf stamp.
I havent made a sample yet as there has just not been enough time.  Fingers crossed I can get a sample organised later today.

Stampin' Up! still have the great Bonus Days promotion in place until 3rd August.

If you need any help with this offer, please do get in touch.  If you dont already have a catalogue, please let me know as I shall get one out to you as soon as I can.  I shall be nipping to the post office this morning to post one to a lovely lady in Dundee and Paul is off to Borrowash to drop a catalogue off too.

Well I had best get myself ready for the day as we have quite a bit planned.

I hope you have a magical Monday and thank you so much for having a read today.  Tracey x

Sunday

Smile it is Sunday

Good morning.  It is supposed to be really hot today.  I dont mind too much as it means I can flit in between the Craft Room, the garden and cooking a Sunday roast.

We have been very busy this last week with decorating the sitting room.  We started this project in January and only now are able to get cracking on it again.  The electrician came and installed wires for new lights in the ceiling.  We gave away our comfy furniture.  The plasterer came and boarded out the ceiling and plastered it.  If ever you need either an electrician or plasterer please ask me for their numbers, they were both brilliant and I would recommend them to everyone.

Paul has now painted the ceiling and we have spent the week wall papering.  Not quite finished but hopefully we will do by the end of the day today.  Then it will be painting.  We have the paint and between us, it shouldnt take too long.  I think it is rather exciting.

I have given up being in the craft room too much for a week and boy I have missed it.  Last weekend I did sneek in this little card.

The sentiment is a very old one but so perfect for so many cards

My sister asked me to make it for a friend of hers.  I adore this set.  It is in the 2020-2021 Catalogue and if you would like more details about it, please get in touch.  Sadly the papers are no longer available but there are lots of other lovely ones that will compliment this stamp set.  More details can be found below.

Did you know that if you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products up to the 3rd August you will get a voucher for £4.50 to spend from 4th August.  Well worth thinking about if there are one or two things you have been pondering over.

If you havent got a catalogue yet do get in touch.  I have loads in the craft room all looking for new homes.

This week I am hoping to get together over Zoom on Wednesday at 2pm and on Saturday at 3pm to make a card.  I will put details of the project here on the blog on Monday and if you would like to join us, you are most welcome to, I just need your email address.  There isnt a charge for this get together on Zoom.  If you need anything from Stampin' Up! you can always let me know at the end of the get together and I will happily order it for you.    I know that not everyone likes to do Zoom and thats okay too x

Well I had best go and start my day.  Thank you for having a read, I hope you have had a lovely week and I wish you a smashing Sunday.  Tracey
