Hugs in store

Good morning, up bright an early again today but what a lovely day I have planned.  I shall be giving my youngest daughter a hug today and not too sure if I will let go.  

She is the one getting married in June and I just managed to get all the invites packed away.  Along with her thank you tags for the jars of sugared almond as well as the Happily Ever After Party invites, whatever next.  I have really enjoyed making these and it has taken a total of 2 years to get them all finished.  I do hope they travel well.

Sophia is in Croatia so no hugs for her until Friday evening, something to look forward too.  I shall not be doing a lot more today phew.

Good morning, Mr. Weatherman has said that it will rain today, well he said this yesterday and it didnt happen so the garden got a good tidy up.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesnt happen again today as I am off out this morning, we shall see.

It was sons birthday yesterday  and here is the card that was created for him.  He is a really keen Derby County Football Club supporter and I took this photograph about 23 years ago.  Things havent changed too much and I am sure he will realise it is the local football ground. 

The football papers came from a shop in the old Derby Market Place called Eclipse, this has long gone but I am pleased to say that I met a very good friend there and we are still in touch (sending you hugs Susie).

Yesterday saw lots and lots of lovely ladies visit the Craft Room.  Stampin' Up! isnt just a group of folk that craft and make lovely things,  its all the friendships that we have all made along the way.  It is so wonderful that after all these years (nearly 15) that friends pop into the craft room and meet people that they have never met before.  I do count myself to be so very lucky.

So today I am off out for an hour this morning and then I will visit mum and dad.  This afternoon is a time to sort, one of my favourite pass times.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get an hour in the garden with hubby as it really is looking lovely again.

Good morning, up early on a Sunday.  Not too sure how many folk actually chill on Sundays but I am just about to start my 'To Do' list.  Not a lot on it today but making Easter cards is a certainty.  Do you send these out?

It is Mothers Day here in the UK.  Sending out wishes to all the mums and hugs to those that need it.  Not everyone celebrates for one reason or another and it isnt everywhere in the world.  Mothers Day is on various days in other parts of the world.  

After a busy few days I feel that I have just about caught up, apart from the little tags that Katerina wants for her wedding.  If you are free and fancy doing a little punching out, please do get in touch and I will put kettle on.

How do you clean your acrylic blocks?  Me, I spray them in WD40, leave them for an hour and then wash them with fairy, rinse and leave them to dry.  The kitchen smells of WD0 for quite a while but all the glue, ink and anything else comes right off them and they are all ready to use again.

 

We had Christmas card night last Friday and here are the topers of some cards I have made, they will be completed during the next Festive Friday which will be on 5th May.  I always forget how to create these so I have a play to start with and then it all comes back to me.

The other ladies that joined me were also extremely productive. 

Well I had best get a start on my day, I just realised that it wont rain so I will need to get a little gardening done.

Good morning and what a morning it has been already.  Woke up to an eerie view, freezing fog.  It has all just about gone now which is a good job as off to visit mum in a few minutes.  I have a beef bourguignon in the slow cooker so that's dinner for today and tomorrow sorted (gives me more time to play in the Craft Room ssshhhh).

Yesterday a few of us crafters met up at a local garden center and I cant tell you how wonderful it is to put the world to rights.  We laughed, we chatted and we all have so much in common apart from the crafting.  Thank you to everyone that came along, it certainly made my week.  Our next get together will be at the end of May.  Watch this space, you are most certainly welcome to join us.

I havent used my vellum as much as I should.  So I set to and this is the card I created.

I started with a base of Smoky Slate and added a Night of Navy layer to it.  Then I opted for the Stampin' Up! vellum called Layering Designs which has lots of different designs on it, some in black and some in white.  I stamped a large flower from the Color and Contour stamp set and as it is a two step set, (I cant say that fast), I used Night of Navy ink for the flowers.  I used my water painter to add a little Pear Pizzaz colour to the leaves.  I cut the image down and used the Very Best Trio punch to add some decorative corners (this is an amazing punch and I cant recommend it enough).  The mat layer in Night of Navy was just a little bit bigger than the stamped piece of card so punching the corners on this piece created a lovely background to the stamped image.  Of course it wouldnt be complete without the Night of Navy ribbon.  Now I am not too sure how long this ribbon will be around so if you want it, I would certainly get it ordered sooner rather than later. Happy Birthday Balloons

Good morning and wishing you a super Sunday.  Not a lot on my to do list today so it will be an afternoon in the craft room for me.  I think a little play with some older Card-io products may be in order.  I will share my makes later in the week.

Had a visit to mums yesterday and finally, she has an appointment for the memory clinic.  It has taken months to get this but there is light at the end of the tunnel and I do hope we can get some answers for her, it isnt easy for her nor dad. 

Yesterday was Sallys birthday and here is the card that I made for her.  

I used a balloon stencil and had a really good play with different inks and blending brushes until I was happy with the effect.  I mounted the image onto Basic Black card and put these onto a card base made out of Polished Pink card using the 10.5cm x one15cm rule.  The dots are 2021-2023 In Color dots which will soon be retiring from Stampin' Up!   

 

Did you notice the new section called retired catalogues?  I am trying to find 5 missing years of electronic catalogues from 2008, fingers crossed I can find these and add them to the page.  This will then show how the catalogues have progressed over the 15 years that I have been a demonstrator.  It will be 15 years in May and I do hope to be able to celebrate this with something a little different.

Artistically Inked

Good evening, brrr, it has been a really cold day today.  Woke up this morning and I thought that everywhere would be white over, we would be knee deep in snow and confined to the house.  Instead it was raining, the snow had about gone and there was a bit of blue sky.  So we had a morning of chores and then off out for lunch, which was lovely.  Tonight I hope to catch up with a bit of paperwork and then put my feet up.

I know that not everyone was as lucky as we were and struggled with the weather but I do hope that you managed to stay safe.

We had International Ladies Day a couple of days ago and I opted to stay in the craft room.  I had a lot of cards to get ready for the rest of this month and next month.  I feel a lot better now that they are done.

At the end of the day I had Artistically Inked on my desk, some purple card and a query about Gorgeous Grape being inked up enough and created this card.  Not quite sure who it is for yet but it will get posted out soon.

I think I may get to make another couple of these in different colours....watch this space.
