Crafting in The Craft Room

Good afternoon. Not too long left now for us with the girls so making the most of it. Last night we went up to the local taverna in the village. They have the most wonderful traditional Cypriot food but as it is so busy the tables are all set up on the side of the road and up the street, outside people’s houses but no one seems to mind.

Sophia’s house is just about ready and this week is moving week. You can not imagine the mess that the builders leave, we certainly wouldn’t accept it in the UK. So it’s a bit of an upside down week for us with packing boxes here, there and everywhere.

I totally forgot to share some cards made in the last get together we had.

We used the world stamp which is a bit of a biggy. Using the Stampin’ Write markers we coloured in the stamp. This was then stamped out using a stamping platform. By using it this way, we could add different colours to the stamped image. The sentiments were generated on the computer and we just cut them down to size.

We were able to create two cards in one with the Two Tone Flora stamp set. First of all the largest die was cut out and we used this to create a template to make the first card. The second card was created by sticking the template onto a card base. Both cards were made by using sponge daubers and ink to give the cards the colours.

Beach walks and Stampin ‘ Up! Two Tone Flora

Good morning, it is going to be another warm day. I have been going for a very early morning walks over the last week and I can’t tell you how much better my legs have been. They are still very red and swollen but they feel better which is a blessing.

We have left home just before 7am and on one day we saw the sun coming up. So many other people walking, folk swimming and lots of chaps using the outdoor gyms. Yes, Cyprus has outdoor gyms and they are used in the mornings and evenings by an amazing number of people.

Changing the subject, here is a card that was created by Ruth. Lots of elements on this one but all from the Two Tone Flora bundle (stamps and dies).

The flowers have been stamped in wonderful bright colours and die cut out. Some leaves were also stamped in different greens and die cut out. The large beautiful die was cut out and trimmed down and stuck under the edge of the embossed piece of card. Some leaves were stamped (second generation) directly onto the card. The coloured card has been run through the embossing folder which is part of The Basic Folders (more information below). Everything was stuck down with glue, things raised with dimensions and then the very delicate flower stamens were stamped in yellow, finished off with a few of of the amazing embellishments that Stampin’ Up! always have to offer. No sentiment as yet but it could be for so many different occasions. Thank you for making and sharing it Ruth, I adore it.
