Trucking Along bundle with Rocking Reindeers

Good morning, now where did that week go. It started off with a couple of things planned each day but it then grew and grew and I was busy for the whole week.

I  had to have a hospital pre-operation assessment which was a surprise.  I didnt realised that it would take quite a long time so I was very happy to leave the hospital after two and a bit hours and go and have a cuppa with friends.

This pre-op led to other urgent hospital appointments which I went to as well as a mammagram which had been booked for quite a while.  So it has been a lot of backwards and forwards to the hospital but I feel so lucky that we have such a service right on our front doorstep (more or less).  The facilities really are amazing and I shall be going back on 9th November to get my gall bladder removed.  To say I am frightened is an understatement so swiftly moving on.

In between these apointments I have been for a coffee in a lovely setting not too far from me with lovely company and we put the world to rights.  I do hope to go back there at the end of next month for a team meeting with my small team of crafting ladies.

I havent had too much time for doing any crafting this week but I will make up for it today.  I have a Christmas card day planned in the craft room as soon as I have had breakfast, whoop whoop.  I am so excited.  Of course we shall cook a Sunday lunch just to remind us that it is Sunday today.

My ever growing task with the photos, is still ongoing.  Today I have 31,741 photos to go through and file away.  Hubby asked me why I am doing it but once I point out that we keep looking back on them and wanting information from them, then its a job worth doing so he agreed with me.   I will let you know the total to sort next time.  All the photographs are backed up so fingers crossed we dont loose them but I do wonder....who will want to look at them after I have gone?

Friday saw me at Memory Lane Social Events helping out a wonderful group of folk to make a couple of Christmas items.

We made these rocking reindeers and a

Christmas log slice

Monday

Scrapbooking and One Horse Open Sleigh card No. 3

Good morning, hope you had a good weekend, despite the weather.

We got up on Saturday rather concerned about the flood warnings and to find out it was just two streets away was concerning.  Fortunately things didnt get so bad where we are but the city centre is still flooded and I have heard that traffic all around Derby is at a stand still.  Fingers crossed that things soon improve.

We had our first get together for the  "Craft Room Crop" and my photos didnt arrive until 5 minutes before we cleared up.  That didnt stop me from preparing page number 2 of a double layout that I started in 2008 of my eldest daughter and youngest grand daughter.

All I need now is the photo to finish the second page and to stick everything down.  In the meantime, it will just stay open on my desk until finished.

I did have another play with One Horse Open Sleigh papers

For this card I started with a 6 " x  6" card base in Basic White, added a Night of Navy mat followed by the wonderful sheet of Designer Series Paper which had been cut down to fit.

I used the Stylish Shapes dies to create the sentiment on the front with the words from the Magical Meadow stamp set.  The ribbon is Night of Navy and the little embellishments are from my stash.  You wont believe the amount of pretty embellishments I have, I struggle to say no to them knowing that they will come in handy....some day.  Do you save something 'just in case'?

As we had a relatively dry day yesterday, we sanded the stones on our front path, to give it a bit of a new lease of life, (the royal we of course), I did make a drink or two.  It was as though I had my own private beach for a few minutes

They dont look quite so dull now and we shouldnt have to do it again for at least two years.  The only problem is that not many folk use our front door, they come round the side, straight into the craft room.

This afternoon I am hoping to do a little more on the Christmas cards, some are half done, some need insert and others need glitter.  It will keep me out of mischief.  I do hope you have a wonderful start to the week.

Thank you for having a read and please, do get in touch if you need any crafty help at all.  Tracey x

Saturday

Saturday and Card no. 2 One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Papers

Good morning.  We have received lots and lots of flood alerts in Derby and the Derbyshire area.  The rain is still falling and it is a worrying time for so many.  Lets hope that things start to improve very soon.

Well we had our covid vaccines and I had a rather unfortunate reaction, again.  Wednesday evening I sat down at 6.30pm and slept for a couple of hours, when I woke up, my legs didnt work too well, it was as though the rhumatoid artheritis had struck.  Eventually got to bed but Thursday morning after a very restless night, I had the headache of all headaches, my arms didnt work, my wrists, shoulders and elbows were extremely painful due to the RA pains.  As the day progressed the pains moved and boy, was I uncomfortable.  The whole day was a right off but I still think it is worth it as the vaccine should, in theory, protect me from serious covid symptoms should I get the virus.

Yesterday was a lot better day but not 100%.  It is the headach that doesnt seem to want to go but after more painkillers I went into the craft room in and had a clean up.

Today I hope to spend the morning with a scrapbook kit from Stampin' Up!  The photos I ordered 10 day ago havent yet arrived but I can improvise.

Love this memory scrapbooking kit from Stampin' UP! which includes a stamp set and lots of elements.  I will let you know how we get on.

Remember the papers that I have been having a play with, One Horse Open Sleigh?  Well here is the second card that I created

It started off with a Night of Navy base card.  I added a very vanilla piece of card to that but first, I ran the very vanilla piece through an embossing folder which is also an online exclusive.

These are 'Basics 3D Embossing Folders' and are so useful for so many projects.

I then cut down one of the 6x6 sheets of Designer Series Papers and popped some more Night of Navy card behind it.  I added some silver thread around the the DSP and card  and 3 small rhinestones.  I added this to the card base with dimensionals/3D foam pads.  I havent put a sentiment on the card yet as I have decided to leave a few cards blank, so they are ready for whatever occasion that I may need them for.   I also have some of the 6x6 DSP left so will be using it to make another card.

These are the Online Exclusive papers called One Horse Open Sleigh .  They are £11.75 for 48 sheets of 6" x 6" papers.  Should you wish to have just half a pack please let me know as there are other folk that would like a share of this.

Thank you so much for having a read.  Hope you have a super Saturday.  Tracey x

Wednesday

One Horse Open Sleigh card no. 1

Good morning, mr weatherman on the tv says it will rain today and continue raining for a week, oh my.  We are just about finished doing the path in the garden on the front of our house.  We just need to give it a good clean with the water jetter so that is todays plan.  I guess it will need to be done early on and then we will have to be sure the water is all swept away, before the downpour.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Last night I went to the local Community Hub for a game of bingo. It is held at our local Football Stadium and it was a lovely night, I even won a game.  We then all played Uno, my favourite card game.  If you are local to Derby and fancy coming along there is plenty of tea/coffee and snacks, a couple of games of bingo and lots of interesting company.  It is on again on Tuesday 2nd November and the more the merrier.

If you fancy coming along to a Scrapbook get together this Saturday at 10am please do let me know.  I havent done any scrapbooking for the last 5 years but I feel it is time to start again as I have so many lovely items and photos and memories.  I am starting small but using a kit from Stampin' Up!  I then have a few things that the girls have asked me to create, so there is always lots to keep me busy.

Today we are off for our Covid booster.  I always have a reaction but today I am telling myself that I wont.  My parents never do but I am being positive as there are lots of things I want to be getting on with.

I had a play with some wonderful Online Exclusive papers called One Horse Open Sleigh with Sheila earlier this week.  They are £11.75 for 48 sheets of 6" x 6" papers.

Here is the first card I made

I made an easel card out of a Crumb Cake card base and matted it with Cajun Craze card.  The piece of 6" x 6" was cut down to fit on the front.  Using Cottage Wreath and Magical Meadow stamps I added sentiments.  I am so pleased with this and cant wait to show you another one, so off to the Craft Room to get it finished.

I had best get off to start my day before the rain arrives.  Thank you so much for having a read and please, do get in touch if you need any crafting help as I am always very happy to help if I can.  Tracey x
