Normal Service Resuming

Now that the snow has gone, my workshop has gone and card orders are coming in quicker than I can make them, I guess normal service has resumed. Lost my mojo a bit so just be stamping and using my marveys tonight. I hope that tomorrow I will find my mojo and be able to mat, layer and use the images I have done.

If anyone does find my mojo, please send it back to me.

This is the second card we made at the workshop. I personally think that the loads of love set and the accessories are such good value for money as they can be used for so many different occasions.

Update on my new craft room, units are all in and my worktop is now in place. It looks great and I know I am so lucky. Tomorrow we will give it a good clean and dust everything down. Paul will remove all his tools as it looks like his shed at the minute, tools everywhere. Then on Saturday it will be wallpapering and painting.

Thanks for stopping by

For Sophia, Katerina and Christiana... snowy Derby

Rather a long post today, but its a special one. These pictures are especially for my girls, who are in sunny Cyprus

These were taken at 9p.m. last night, you didn't believe we had snow but, here it is. I bet you want to get on the next flight and come home, don't you? I could always send you some snow in the post.
Can you see how big the snowflakes are?

It all started at about 2.00 in the afternoon with a mixture of snow and hail, thats when I telephoned you all.

And these were taken at 6.40 this morning, before we set out for work. Brrrr it was cold.

My car has vanished
Paul starting up his car.

This is what the street looked like first thing this morning, before everyone started the snow ball fights and building snowmen

This is what I came home to at 4.30 tonight. It took me nearly an hour to do a 3 mile trip as the cars were all driving so slowly.

The blackbirds were in the garden and the bird table had so much snow on it. I braved going outside and cleaned the table. I put bread out for them but they didnt come back. Oppps, Paul told me that I had just given the birds the bread that was for our sandwiches for tomorrow. Guess who had to go to the shop to buy MORE bread....Paul.

Sunday

Workshop Card No. 1

I put a post on about the workshop, and didnt share the cards with you...what am I like.

Here is the birth (baby) card. I think it can be used for a small child or a new baby. We made them in blue and pink.

I used the bundle of joy stamp set alone with different pink and blue cardstock. For the papers I used a mixture of Sweet Always, Cutie Pie and Junior Varsity. Put a little button on and put linen thread through the button holes. I cheated and stuck the button on, me and a needle don't really go together.

Update on the craft room - the units are all in. My desk top has been purchased and I think that will go in tonight. I cant find the right wallpaper, which is typical, I really was hoping to put up a coloured paper but it is looking like new wallpaper, and then to paint it. Never mind. Oh I found the most amazing picture to put on the wall at B+Q

Thanks for looking at my blog and for all your comments

Saturday

Workshop

Just returned from holding my second workshop and what a fantastic afternoon I have had. Hope that everyone that came enjoyed it as much as I did.

Here are some pictures of our afternoon of fun and frolics

Before the event, all ready and set out AND COLD

This is the hall all laid out, ready and waiting

Here is Molly after she had set out all the sticky stuff

A few photos of everyone being very producutive ...

Thank you to everyone that came along and made it a really successful workshop.

A special thanks go to Pam and Molly and very BIG THANK YOU to Jayne and Karen.

Its starting to read like an award speach.

Cant wait for the next one which will be at the end of March.

Monday

Phew what a weekend

It was a hectic one. I was playing skivvy to Paul for most of the time but it was well worth it. The units are going up in the C room rather quickly as you can see in the picture.

My daughter is rather upset that I am about to change the wallpaper in this room. It currently has little dogs on it and it wont really match the rest of the room. It is my intention to put pastel pink wallpaper up. She has asked me to send her lots of cards with dogs on to make up for it - oppps. Sorry Sophia.

No cards to show you today as I am busy getting everything ready for the workshop this Saturday. Everything is all cut out and I am busy getting the project sheets ready.

I have been lucky enough to win some Blog Candy and cant wait for it to arrive.

Thanks for all the lovely comments you have been leaving.

Saturday

Cards for new arrivals

This week, in between doing lots of other things, I have been using the Bundle of Joy set of stamps. Here are two that I have made, just simple ones.

And then each time that I have made another one card, I have done something different, added extra little bits. I love this cute little set and will show you some more cards that I have created with it over the weekend.

We will be spending more time putting the craft room together today and I have to choose colour of wallpaper. The carpet is a thick purple so whilst I wanted a pink room, then changed it to pink and brown, I guess it will have to be pink and purple ish.... mmm not so sure.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog and hope you have a great day, whatever you are doing

Friday

My new craft room

.....well nearly.

Had a delivery from Ikea today and here it is. This is going to be my wall of shelving from top to bottom

Here is the room which is getting ready for the units . The bed has been sold and will be collected on Sunday. All the games are going to be given away/put on e-bay. Some of them are over 40 years old and in perfect condition. Paul, who doesn't like to throw anything away, just in case, told me to let them go. Must do it quickly before he changes his mind LOL.

And these are the first of my stash, which has to go. I know that I don't have enough storage space for everything so I am selling off a lot of my stash. It will be hard to decide what stays and what goes but after 4 years, I think I know which techniques I prefer to use when making cards. I haven't used these punches for a while so £20 o.n.o. for the lot, plus postage if they are not collected.

Look what the postman left

Thank you Issy for this lovely card.

It is so nice to find something this beautiful waiting for me at the end of a busy day. It has spurred me on to make and send a few cards out, in the post, instead of sending e-mails.

Do many of us send out quick hellos??

Retail Therapy

Well sometimes, it just has to be done.

Went out last weekend to Sir Stampalot and did a detour on the way home to Kims Crafts, okay so it wasnt a detour as such but we wanted to go.

Had a fantastic day and here are the pictures to prove it.

Pam, P.Ann and finally my goodies, cant wait to play

Thursday

Cards from friends

What a busy time it is for me, thought I would be slowing down after Christmas but havent done yet. I am off work for a couple days and hope to catch up with lots of outstanding things that I have....that doesnt mean housework either.

We are in the process of converting a bedroom into a craft room. Who's lucky? ME. So far we have taken down the built in units that have been there for about 8 years, sold the bed on e-bay and designed my wall of storage. We went to Ikea to order all the units to be delivered this weekend only to find out that they do next day delivery, which wasnt what we wanted. If it isnt delivered the next day you get charged a storage fee, so got to go back to Ikea on Friday.

Apart from it all being exciting, I cant find anything. My bedroom and the other one is a store and I cant believe how changing one room can disrupt the whole house....but this isnt a complaint.

I have received some lovely photographs of cards that people have been making using Stampin Up products so I thought I would share these with you today.

These are from Debbie and I just love the colours.

This is one that Lesley has made.....lovely

I will put the others on here over the next few days.

Hope you have a lovely day, whatever you are doing and thank you for all the lovely comments

Saturday

Last of the blooming with beauty...for now

Here is the last of the blooming with beauty set for a while as I have other cards that I want to share with you.

I have mentioned how I did this window in the card in another post but, if anyone needs help with it, please let me know.

I stamped out a second image onto card stock and cut around it so that I could decoupage the front. My preference for card shapes and sizes has changed, yet again. I really do like 4" or 5" square cards these days. I am sure it will change again in a few weeks.

Would just like to say a big thank you to everyone for leaving comments on my blog.

Wednesday

Blooming with Beauty, again

I do hope you are not getting fed up with seeing cards that I have made using this stamp. Apologies if you are.

These two cards are just waiting for me to put the sentiments on. I tend to make quite a few cards without sentiments so that on special occassions (or birthdays that I have forgotten) I can just add on whatever is appropriate.
