Good morning. Yesterday was such a busy one with going here, there and everywhere but I managed to get most of the things done on my 'to-do' list which was a bonus. Its official, M&S have misplaced an order of mine but its the first time its ever happened to me so I wont complain. I am told it may turn up by Saturday so we shall be see.
Today is going to be such a terrific Tuesday. This afternoon a group of lovely crafting ladies will come to the craft room for a bit of a get together, a few nibbles, a swap of Christmas cards and to see what the new 2026 Mini Catalogue will bring from Stampin' Up! Always a bonus.
Tonight I am off to bingo with another group of friends so more laughs and nibbles, goodness, it really do look a lot like Christmas.
December always seems to be bursting with birthdays, and this weekend it was my niece’s turn to celebrate. I made her a special card, and I have to say, I absolutely love this layout. To create it, I started by making a simple rectangle mask using sticky notes. Then I blended Pool Party ink, keeping it rich and deep at the bottom and fading it out softly toward the top.
Next came the floral magic, I stamped the gorgeous image from the Stamping' Up! Stippled Roses set on to some basic white card and coloured it with inks and a water painter, then fussy cut it. A little gently shaping of the petals with an embossing tool. Finally, I popped it onto the layered card piece with dimensionals to give it that lovely 3-D look before layering it to the card base. A sentiment and some seqins finished it off. Such a fun project for such a special birthday.
