Good morning and what a lovely morning I have woken up to. Clear blue skies but not for long, there is rain forecast so I will make the most out of the lovely weather while I can.
I am so please to announce that I am a Yaya again. This is grandmother to the latest addition to our family Maximos. He arrived on Monday at 7lb 4 oz and on Wednesday mum and baby returned home. Not long enough in the hospital in my opinion but times change, which I do understand.
So now we have lots of hours watching him move and make noises. He was born with the most thickest mop of hair I have ever seen and it is jet black, just like his dads. We are told that his dad was the same when he was born.
Alexandros, who is now 7 months old now is a wonder and is sitting up, shouting and recognising us which is amazing. He seems to be so big in comparison to Maximos too. Oh the joys.
Well I had a little play with the Delightful Wishes Stamp set and co-ordinating dies along with some of the Floral Delight Designer Series Papers. I saw a card similar to this on my facebook but can I find it again to give credit to the designer, not a chance. Facebook does play games with me sometimes.
Anyway, I started with a 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" thick basic white card base. This was originally an A4 sheet of Basic White Thick card which I trimmed down, scored and burnished. On top of this I added a layer ofLemon Lolly card, well its just so Spring like and bright, which is just what was needed. Then came a layer of Basic White card. I ran this piece of Basic White card through the embossing machine, sandwiched in between the retired Stampin' Up! Subtle Embossing Folder.
I cut a square of the very pretty Designer Series Paper and marked up two sides and scored in between them so that you could see the wonderful checked pattern on the reverse side of the paper. I find scoring gently helps the paper not to fray at the edges.
Next out came the tags dies and I cut out a tag from another piece of the designer series paper as well as a tag from some Lemon Lolly card. I stuck the two tags together at a jaunty angle and threaded some of the new Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon through the holes.
I stuck the Designer Series Paper in the center of the card, well as center as I could tell only using glue across the edges away from the fold. I popped the tag inside the little diagonal area so that it stuck out.
Next came the die cutting of one of the flowers and the leaves which I stuck together and added to the right hand side of the 'pocket' I had created. I used Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive card stock for these.
I made the card with my sister in law in mind so I typed out the sentiment on the computer and trimmed it down adding a Lemon Lolly background piece.
I can honestly say that I loved making this card and cant wait to have a go at making a few more. Details of all the elements I used are at the end of the post and, if you would like to make a similar card over a cuppa, do let me know so that we can arrange a time to do this.
