DAY ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY ONE - Thoughtful Journey DSP, Antiques Roadshow and last days to grab the Starters Kit

Good morning.  What a few busy days I have had again, sometimes it feels like I am on a roller coaster and do things that need doing rather than doing something I really enjoy.  Hopefully things will get a little easier from now on.

We had a wonderful day out earlier this week in a lovely village called Cromford.  There are mills there and the Antique Roadshow was filming there. I applied for entrance tickets quite a while ago and was lucky enough to get two.  We went with the hopes of showing some  Zippo lighters that hubby has collected from his time working on submarines. However, the day was so wet, soggy, raining constantly and everywhere was muddy.  We had a great time though and saw lots of things.  The experience is one we wont forget.

It started off with queueing to get in.  Queueing at the reception desk to see if we could show the lighters, queueing to  get to the table to show the lighters.  Queueing to see the other tables and all in all, it is a day of queueing.  But what an experience.

My car got returned to me yesterday phew.  It had been in to the garage to be repaired as someone drove into it sometime ago.  I dont know when it happened nor where but I am so pleased to have it back, I have been lost without it.

Here is a card that was passed on this month for a birthday girl.  The typle of card is called a Bookbind Fold and it has been made with the wonderful papers that Stampin' Up! have called Thoughtful Journey.

Monday

DAY ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY - Free shipping and continued birthday celebrations

Good morning.  Another warm day today.  I am busy doing family stuff again today which is a great way to start the week.  I think my birthday celebrations have overlapped my sisters celebrations and we are having a great time.

I shall be meeting up with friends later this evening for our wander and put the world to rights.  These meet ups really do keep me going and keep me sane,  I look forward to them so very much.  It always helps that there is a cuppa at the end and a sit down.

Free Shipping will start tonight (with a £60 order) or if you are able to collect from the Craft Room, do get in touch.  You can add your order to one that I shall be placing and collect it from me.  You dont need a minimum order spend.    This offer will start at 11pm tonight which is perfect for all the night owls.  If you need a bit of a hand with this or would like a little more information, do get in touch, all my details are below.

Here is a card that I made to celebrate my dads 80th Birthday.  You may have to click on it to see it properly.

This was another BIG card that I made.  It is an 8x8 card base with Real Red card as a mat behind the card front.  The stamp I have used is an old one from my stash and its been stamped with Memento Ink and coloured in with Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment was generated on the computer.  He loved it.  I send out so many cards and it isnt often I get to see folk open them so it was nice to see dad open this card.

There were 11 of us that went and spent the afternoon with mum and dad.  We all took food with us to share and eat so dad didnt have to do too much.  Mum was very quiet but I put that down to her not being used to having us all there at the same time.

This is the cake that he shared with everyone.  Mum and Dad freeze any cakes they have left over, in slices so that they can have a treat whenever they want which is a great idea as the cakes are so big.

Would you like to join us at our next Kit Night get together?  If you havent got a kit why not take advantage of grabbing onetonight/ tomorrow, with free postage.  Let me know which kit you would like and I will organise it.  Clcik on the "Kits Collection" image below to see what is available or if you would like a little help, please get in touch.  My contact details are below

Sunday

DAY - ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY NINE Textured Floral 60th Birthday card, celebrations and a trip to London

Good morning, love waking up to the sunshine although mr. weatherman says its going to rain.  Lets hope for more sunshine for yet another day here in Derby.

Well, what a bit of a rollercoaster few days.  Tuesday was my birthday and I am overwhelmed by all the cards, throughful pressents and messages that I received.  It was a super day, hubby took me out for lunch, I went out in the evening with friends for a couple of hours and had visitors in between.  Photos are to follow over the next couple of days.

On Wednesday we got on a train and went off to London to see a show, another wonderful experience to celebrate both mine and hubbys birthdays now that we are both well enough to do so.  We had the most amazing time and saw lots of things we had never seen before.  We went on driverless trains, walked late at night with no coats as it was so warm and enjoyed every minute of it.  Looking forward to the next time we can go.

Then yesterday was my dads and my sisters birthday, he was 80 and sis was 60 and we are having a weekend of celebrations.  So its been a busy time but so nice to spend it with family.

In between decorating some cakes I have made for my sister, I hope to catch up with the blog and facebook and get a card or two written for some special birthdays later this week, things that I really do enjoy doing.

Here is the card that I made for my sister to celebrate her special day.

It is a large 8 x 8  square card using the Textured Florals stamp set from Stampin' Up!  The words were generated on the computer and I created a wreath using many different coloured flowers and foliage which were hand cut out.  I loved making this and she was so pleased with it. Lots of sparkles from the various gems in the centers of the flowers.

Did you know that starting at 11pm on Monday (tomorrow) for 24 hours Stampin' Up! are having a FREE SHIPPING day.

If you would like to add something to an order I will place on Tuesday, please do get in touch with me before 4pm on Tuesday evening.  If you would like to place your own order that would be wonderful.  Should you need any help then please, do get in touch as I am always happy to help if I can.  My contact details are below.

Well, I had best get on and start my 'to do' list before going out for lunch, there will be 19 of us, wow.  Thank you so much for having a read and I hope you have a smashing Sunday.

Monday

DAY ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR - Thoughtful Journey

Good morning, what a warm start to the week.  Up at just gone 5am and it is already 15 degrees outside, phew.  Hoping for a little rain tonight as we have re- seeded the lawn on the back of the house.  This is the second time as the birds helped themselves to the first lot grrr.  We have discovered a carpet that you pop over the lawn when you have seeded it to prevent the birds coming down so we shall see how we get on with that.  But water is needed.  It is rather strange as this 'carpet' is white so everytime I look out of the window I think it has rained.

We didnt get to see the Northern Lights that were seen in Derby over the weekend but I so wished we did.  We had no idea that they were expected but wow, some stunning photos were seen on the internet.

Did you watch the Eurovision?  Oh I did, I do love it each year.  It seems that not too many folk sit and watch it any more but we used to have parties with lots of friends round.  I enjoyed it despite all the hooo haaaa about the politics.  It was light hearted, very interesting clothing, or not and the winner deserved to win.

I have been lucky enough to have a play with lots of bits and pieces in the craft room over the last couple of weeks and this is one of the Thoughtful Journey cards that was made.

For this card you take one of the beautiful sheets of 6x6 Designer Series Papers and cut it into a square measuring 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".

You then cut it into 4 strips – the first one is 1/2 ″, the next is 3/4″followed by 1″. This will then leave a strip at 1 and 1/4″

On a card base you add a layer of card that co-ordinates with the image you have decided to cut down.

Then you add a panel piece of a different coloured card and stick the strips onto the panel piece.  The sentiment is from Sentimental Park stamp set and I use the new Happy Little Things dies, which are so cute, well I think they are.  A full list of everything I used is below.

Well I have a busy day today but such a nice one too.  Hairdressers, pharmacy, doctors, dentist, seeing the folk, meeting up with friends for a natter and a stroll followed by a coffee with another friend this evening. I cant wait.

Thank you for having a read and I hope your have a wonderful start to your week.  Tracey x

DAY ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE - Kit nights

Good morning, how are you enjoying the lovely weather?  I do know that not everyone likes the heat.  Personally I like the sun being out especially when we can get the gardens looking nice but not too hot that I am looking for cool places to sit.  The problem I have is trying to find the time to sit out and enjoy it. Hopefully today we will.

It has been a wonderful but busy week, arent they all.  I have spent some amazing time crafting with friends and we have made some lovely cards but today I am taking the time to catch up with myself and get things organised for a busy week ahead, slowly.

At the get together last sunday, quite a few folk said they were getting confused about where to find details of all the dies as they were not in one place at the back of the catalogue as previous years so, I have spent the time to add another section to my blog where you can find all the dies that SU have available at the moment.  This doesn't include the clearance items as these se out so quickly so you will have to look at that seperately but to help, I have added a little button below.

We have a Kit Night once a month and on Friday we got together with our kits.  We had a brilliant night.  If you would like to come to the next one it will be on June 7th, just let me know in advance should you wish to purchase a kit.

Jan is a very talented at knitting, sewing and lots of other hobbies but this was the first time she had sat down and made cards on her own and wow, she did so well.  I do hope she doesnt mind me sharing her photo on my blog

Well I had best go and make a start on my day.  Dont forget that if you dont already have a demonstrator helping you, I would be very happy to offer any assistance that I can.  Thank you so much for having a read.  Tracey x
