DAY ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY - Layers of Beauty in blue

Good morning and what a lovely start to the day it is weatherwise.  We have sunshine and its not too cold outside as I have already been out to investigate.

The garden is looking lovely, especially with the sunshine on it.   I certainly intend to sit out and soak it all in later today as well as take a photo or two.

Here is a card that I made recently with the stamp set and dies Layers of Beauty.   I went for Blues on this one, misty moonlight, boho blue and the other colour is beige.  Beige is new to Stampin' Up! and it is wow.  It co-ordinates with everything.

I stamped the largest image out using Stazon ink twice.  I put the image through the die cutting machine with the co-ordinating dies and stamped out another image.  The second image is one that I shall keep with the stamp set so that I can cut out bits as and when I need them.  On this occasion I just wanted one of the flowers on the bottom right of the card.

I set too and coloured it in.  I placed a corner of an acrylic block into the ink pad gently until there was a little ink on it.  Using my water painter, I added a little water, mixed it all in and wiped the painter on kitchen roll.  then I took some of the diluted ink and began colouring in the flowers.  As I said I used two blues and then beige.

I stamped out the Congratulations sentiment and this was also die cut out.

I took a piece of Basic White card and popped it through the Exposed Brick Embossing folder, cut it down and then stuck it to the C6 base card.  Using dimensionals/3D foam pads I added the coloured image to the card.

The Congratulations sentiment was stuck down (a combination of glue and dimensionals) and then I added an additional flower over the sentiment.  No ribbons, no twine and no embellishments as I wanted the image to be center stage.  I really did enjoy making this card and look forward to making a few more.   If you would like to make this card with me in the Craft Room do get in touch.  I would be very happy to show you how to create this.  I have added a list of everything that I used to the bottom of this post.

Well I had best get on and start a few bits and pieces that are on my to do list.  Thank you so much for having a read and I hope you have a smashing Sunday.  Tracey x
