QVC Day Out

I was invited along to the QVC day last week in London and WOW what a fantastic day it was. We caught the train first thing in the morning and got to London. St. Pancras has certainly changed since I was there last. Its like a little shopping mall, very nice. Taxi over to the conference centre and found a lovely pub to have our fish and chips. Then we went and joined the queue to get in. We were given a goody bag upon entering the building and it got more and more things in it as the afternoon wore on. The room we were in was filled with lots of tables from different companies, which I am sure I cant remember them all. I made 5 cards, going around the tables and met a few celebs. I was most impressed with Rosemerry Merry and the American Craft products. Dawn Bibby was there and a couple of presenters from QVC. I am sorry, I dont know their names. KanBan were there, Jolly Nation and quite a few others.

By 5.30 we were shattered so headed back to the train station, picked up a sandwich and got on the train home.

The weather was lovely, not too hot but no rain. The company was exceptional and a big thank you to Liz for asking me to go with her.

Here are a few pictures of the goodies that I came home with

Penny Blacks

A couple of cards that I have been doing over the last day or two. They are both Penny Black and coloured in using StampinUp watercolours, which are amazing. I have two sets of these watercolours and will be adding to the collection very shortly.

The swinging cats card has been cut away around the inside of the swing and the little red hearts are on the inside of the card. The roses have glossy accents on them and stand out. A pity this doesnt show on the scan.

The mice card has been stamped twice with the top image being cut out and decoupaged onto the bottom immage. The rose, tag and leaf are covered in glitter which cant really be seen here.

I am pleased with how both of these have turned out.

Wednesday

StampinUp weekend

What a fantastic weekend I had. Not only did we have a StampinUp party on Friday night but also on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. I have received so many e-mails and text messages saying how everyone had a good time. Thanks for all your suport ladies and I cant wait for the next party.

Here are the cards that we did. We also made a bagalope to put the cards in

Thursday

Stampin Up -Summer by the sea

One of my favourite stamp sets Summer by the Sea from Stampin Up. Not too sure what sentiment to put on just yet, so will wait and see.

I used chalks and watercolours on this.

Using the same stamp set with chalks and watercolours.

We made two cards and a bagalope. Here is a picture at the end of our day

Thursday

Thursday 8th May

Well, where do I start to tell you everything that has been happening.....

The Derby Dabblers had a fantastic day with Gina Martin at the end of last month.

Have been to a demo by Jayne Nesterenko and visited craft shops in Hinckly.

Spent a lovely day with two friends, Viv and Pam from the Batty Cave on Bank Holiday Monday.

Have joined Stampin Up this week and am really excitedly waiting for the starter kit to arrive.

Those that know me will be saying that I will meet myself coming back, and I probably will but this is all so exciting. More to follow....when I am not so tired

Tuesday

Tuesday April 22nd

I know I promised to try and update this each week but even that is proving to be difficult with the busy life that I have. One day it will get easier, thats what I keep telling myself.

Here are a few of the cards that I have done recently, I do hope that you like them

Thursday

3rd April

Haveing a bit of a hectic week but at least its Friday tomorrow and I can try and have a relaxing weekend.

I have already done 8 commissioned cards this week, all sealed and delivered. Took an order for another 7 today but thankfully they dont need them till Monday. Its 9.30 and I still havent got a thing ready for the Derby Dabblers tomorrow night. I can either stay up late and do everything or.... have an early night and get up early in the morning mmmm. Have to think about that one.

Here is a card that I have just finished. As I have been asked for 2 new home cards thought I would use this card for the first Sketch Challange on the Batty Cave. Loved making it, although it was rather time consuming. The picture doesnt do it justice as the ribbon is pulled tight and in a straight line, honestly LOL. My scanning skills need improving

I am pleased with it, what do you think???

Tuesday

April 1st - Daughters Birthday

PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE BEEN REMOVED

Its Sophias and Katerinas birthday today and they will be 15 going on 21. Their friends gave them a surprise birthday party last Saturday and they didnt get home till 4 in the morning. Today they will go out for lunch with a few friends. Always a tough day for me, for those that know me, they will understand.

Here are the cards that I have made for them this year, one each from me, one each from the elder sister and one each, from each other.

I am sure they will love them as they are really girly girls.

Off to start the day job now

Monday

Monday 31 March

Well, I did say that I wasnt very good at keeping up diaries and this blog just proves it.

I will make more of an effort to keep it updated, at least once a week and put some of my cards here as well.

Here is a card that I have made this evening for brother in law. It is a PB stamp and coloured in with marveys. The background has been done with chalk, as has the leaves.

We have just delivered it and apart from the order of 8 cards that I got today at work, I have just had an order for 4 more, for the same person for May. I guess it will be off to bed now and then up at the crack of dawn to get my thinking head on.

I have seen some brilliant blogs over the last couple of days and this has inspired me to get cracking on mine.
