Springtime flowers on a card

Good morning.  I have got up with a little bit of a panic today as I have realised that it is the end of the month.  It is also the day that I put in the Stamperette Order so I have a little running around to do this morning, silly me.  I just didnt realise it, never mind, it isnt the end of the world.

Yesterday was another smashing day, I spent most of it in the craft room.  I had lots of cards that were half finished and I managed to get 14 of them complete.  I also had a play with the First Frost Stamps which really are superb

I wanted a spring like card and I think by using Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron inks I achieved that.  To make this card, which is a 5 x 5 (I have envelopes for this size)

Take a piece of A4 Thick Whisper White card and cut it down to 10" x 5"
Score the card at 5" and fold over to make your base card.
Take a piece of Whisper White card and cut to 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" and run it through your machine with the Subtle embossing folder, it gives it a lovely effect.
Using the large foliage stamp from First Frost stamp it out to the left had side in Old Olive on to the embossed piece of card.
Stamp out 3 small flowers, one in each of the colours Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron and either cut these out leaving a white border or pop them into your machine with the dies and cut them out.
Stamp out 3 larger flowers and repeat as above.
Punch out in Whisper White card 2 of the sprig like babys breath dies.
Again in Old Olive I stamped out the Happy Birthday Sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set  on to Whisper White card and cut out the two frames from First Frost with my Big Shot.
Placed the flowers where you wish around the Old Olive Foliage.
The sentiment I added last and raised it on very thin dimensionals.  I think it stands out a little more in real life as it is set against the embossed card.

If you live local and would like to see this in real life and have a go yourself, please get in touch and we can arrange this.
We had such lovely weather here in Derby again yesterday and I cant believe that we have crocuses, daffodils and snow drops all flowering at the same time.  I do hope they last if the frost comes back.  We managed to get the little garden outside The Craft Room tidied up and sorted out a few little areas on the front.  Still more in the front garden to do and hopefully a little bit will be achieved this afternoon.

SALE A BRATION is still on going, this is where you spend £45 and get an amazing product FREE OF CHARGE.  If you would like to find out more about this please do get in touch.  I will be in the craft room most of today and it would be lovely to see you in you have time.

My next order will be going in today, if you would like anything at all I would be very happy to order this for you. Again, if you would like to see products, try before you buy etc. etc. why not pop into The Craft Room.  If you need directions I will happily send these to you.

Have you ever thought about joining Stampin' Up! and being able to order their products at a reduced price?  If you have and would like a little more information I really would like to tell you about the fantastic offer that is currently availalbe.  If you pay £99 for your initial kit (all of which you choose yourself), you can actually get £170 worth of products.  It is such wonderful value that it is well worth having a conversation about.

I must go and get breakfast organised but if you would like a crafty chat give me a call on 01332 721877 or send me an email, tracey.rossos2@hotmail.com.  You are most welcome to pop in if you are local to Derby to have a cuppa and a conversation or look at Stampin' Up! products and see some samples.

Thank you for having a read and I hope you have a great Thursday.  Tracey x

Sale a Bration Foil Card

Good afternoon.  Very late in my post today but such a busy bee.

I wanted to share these wonderful things that Sheila made using the sparkly foil sheets that you get for FREE with the Stampin' Up! Sale a Bration.

Arent they brilliant.  The card just shines and as usual, the perfect box has been made for it.  Thank you for letting me share this.

Yesterday I was at the Slimming World group and I am very pleased to say that I lost 4 lb last week.  It wasnt difficult so I am going to see if I can do the same again this week, crossing my fingers.  Some of the meals are wonderful but I had forgotten how long everything takes to prepare from scratch, well worth it though.

Mum came to visit me today.  The first time she has been since September.  She had been for her blood test and to have more magnesium.  The good news is that she no longer has to go weekly to have blood tests (the next one is in May) and the weekly magnesium she can have at home in powder form so that is brilliant news.  She is very unsteady on her feet and rather confused/forgetful but I cant tell you how happy I was to see her walk through the door, even though I waswith her last night.  It really cheered me up as today is a bit of a tough day for me.... 2 months.

Paul and I spent a couple of hours in the garden again today and I must say it really is starting to look good.  We are working our way round and its nice to be able to do it.  a few mishaps with electric cables oppps but sorted now.  We have even got ourselves organised and arranged for a gardener to come to help to do the back garden in April, something to look forward to.

Right then, I must get off to go and cook a lovely tea, a Slimming World recipe.  Thanks for having a read and hope you have a great evening.  Tracey x

Monday

Cards and Hearts

Good morning and brrrr it is only 1 degree outside, hard to believe after all that sunshine over the weekend.

Another start to another week and I am off to Slimming World again this morning.  Last week was rather difficult for me to get my head around what I can and what I cant eat.  I certainly didnt eat as much as I should but hopefully I will get to understand it all soon.  As long as there is a little weight loss Iwill be happy.

We have had two smashing crafty get togethers one on Friday night and one yesterday morning.  It was lovely to see you all ladies.  We shall be having another two this week, Thursday night and Saturday morning.  If you would like to join us on Saturday morning please do get in touch as it would be lovely to welcome you.

I think  I have mentioned before that The Craft Room is decorated in red, hearts and love all for the February theme.  Tricia made this lovely little heart for the tree.

Thank you so much it is delightful.  I also have other bits that I managed to find which look sweet too.

We took daisy (the car) out for a drive on Saturday and as the weather was so good we had the hood down.

I was so afraid of putting the hood down as I thought it would be difficult to do, how silly am I.  It is just all on the push of a button.  We just need even more good weather now and that will be it, so happy that I have this car.

I thought I would share this card that I made.

Soft Sea Foam is a colour that I dont use but I teamed it up with Very Vanilla and some Old Olive and Calypso Coral.  I even managed to do some die cutting and used up some of the Speciality papers.  I put this sentiment on as I dont know who I shall send the card to yet and dont know the occasion.  The stamp set is called Floral Frames and it really is delightful.

Well I had better get a riggle on as Paul has to go to work this morning and we do like to have breakfast together before he goes.  I shall be in the craft room this afternoon and evening if anyone wishes to call in for a crafty chat and a cuppa, collect an order or place one, or anything else.  Thank you for having a read and wishing you a lovely Monday.  Tracey

Thursday

Happy Birthday card

Good morning and its a bit of a late one for me today.  Paul has left for work and I have a few hours to myself to do some chores and then go to the craft room.

We are having a craft night tomorrow night and on Sunday morning.  If you would like to come along and make a couple of pretty cards please get in touch.  There is one place available tomorrow and a few places on Sunday morning.  The cost is £8 per person, everything is provided except glue, which you need to bring with you or purchase at the time.

Here is a card that I made some time ago but I wanted to be sure that the receipient had received it as she reads the blog *waving to Ruth*

All using SU colours and I had a lovely time colouring it in.  I dont think you can see the glitter but it is there.

I had best go and get ready for my day......thanks for having a read and I hope you have a great day.

Tuesday

Love, Hearts, Banners and Spring

Good morning, well I went and joined a really friendly group of slimmers yesterday and now my journey begins to loose a few pounds each week to see if I can get a little healthier.  I am still having trouble with my legs being three times as big as they should be.  Once I finished the steroids I expected the weight I put on to just vanish but urmmmm it didnt.  Fingers crossed that I do it correctly and it works.  Going to the group is so inspirational and listening to everyones week and how the diet has helped them really spurs you on.

Yesterday was so busy I didnt have time to catch my breath.  After the meeting in the morning we had a gardener pop over to visit us.  We are getting re quotes on the garden at the back.  If you know of someone who could take everything away and start again please, do let us know.  Then the Financial Advisor came.....well it is that time of life.  Avon lady popped in for a vist followed by a 'new front door' man.  We may need some building work doing in the hall before we can have a new front door fitted, why does one job always lead to another?  If you know of a builder that would be able to remove a false ceiling as well as a couple of pillars, again, please let us know.

Today I am in the craft room, ALL DAY.  I havent been in for a couple of days and have withdrawal symptoms.  Actually it needs a good clean up and all setting up for our crafty night this Friday.  There are still 2 spaces available if you fancy joining us to make a couple of cards, lots of crafty chatter and home made cakes.  Please get in touch if you would like to come along to reserve your seat.

As promised here is my smashing banner for February for The Craft Room.  This was made by Sheila for the month of February and it is wonderful.  Thank you Sheila.

I am trying to keep the room decorated with red, love, happiness for this month.  Then in March I shall pack all the decorations away and start with the Spring/Mothers Day theme.  I find it really nice to make things for the craft room and just adore all the little things that everyone else makes.  Of course this time next year, the box will come out again and we will get great pleasure from being reminded of what has been made in previous years.

There is a flypast today, sometime between 1.15 and 1.45.  The Tornado will do a farewell fly past over Alrewas and whilst we may not be able to see it, we should be able to hear it.

Finally just look at these, thank you they are stunning.
Spring has sprung in our house.

I still have lots of lovely items on the sales dresser.  If you would like to come for a browse please do.  If you need details of where I am, please ask and I can give you directions.

Well, I had best go and start my day in the craft room.  Thank you for having a read and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday.  Tracey x

Monday

Hearts and Grand Parents

Good morning and here we are a new start to the week.  I am hoping the lovely weather continues so that we can get a little gardening done each day.  I had some new gardening tools for Christmas from Christiana......  They have very long handles so I am hoping to get the garden looking the best that it can this year.

Paul is working mornings again this week so we have the afternoons and the evenings together, chance to get lots of little jobs done as there are still plenty to do.

We had a day out again yesterday mind you, I didnt get up until nearly 10am.  Well not quite true.  We both decided we were going to have a lie in but at 6am the house alarm went off.  We flew out of bed as fast as we could, I followed Paul to turn off the alarm and the box said 'front room'.  We went into the front room but the windows were in tact, nothing out of place except a chuffing big spider sat next to the motion detecter OMG.  My brave hubby hoovered it up and let it go so I went back to bed.
We eventually went to Ikea and got some new chairs for the kitchen and another pair of doors for the craft room, so another little move around is needed in there.

Speaking of craft room, it is red, love, heart theme this month in our crafty space and Julie has made these lovley little beaded hearts for the tree.  Arent they sweet, thank you so much Julie.

We have other lovely things that have been made and I will share them with you during this week.

Here is another card that I adored making last week.  The photo isnt the best but I loved colouring in this image.

I used Stampin' Up! colours and just lost myself doing it.  Very theraputic and of course, congratulations to the new grand parents.

Stampin' Up! still have some wonderful offers on if you werent already aware.  For every £45 you spend you can get lots of different products FREE.  If you have thought about joining the Stampin' Up! family now is just the perfect time.  It will cost £99 and for your money you will get an office kit worth £25 and you get to choose products up to the value of £170.  If that wasnt enough, you can get all your goodies delivered direct to your door FREE OF CHARGE.  If you dont already have a demonstrator and would like to find out more about this please do get in touch.  I still believe that joining Stampin' Up! was one of the best things I ever did.  Not only do I get lots of crafting goodies to play with, I get to do a bit of travelling and I work (if you can call it that) the hours that suite me but the number of wonderful and true friends I have met over the last 10 years is amazing.  I will happily explain how this could all work for you.

Now I need to get a move on as I am joining Slimming World this morning......it has to be done and I am looking forward to it.  Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a great day.  Tracey x

Friday

Happy Birthday card

Good morning and the weekend is just around the corner.  No plans this weekend as yet though. Does anyone know of any crafting events?

It is just 0 degrees outside at the moment but we are due to get up to 13 degrees.  I hope to get the little fairy garden sorted today with a little help from Paul of course.  I couldnt do it on my own as bending down makes me dizzy.....another side effect of the injection but we can live with that.  Lots of little plants need cutting back, broken signs removing etc. etc.

Here is a card I made for a birthday, fingers crossed she has received it by now.  I sent it by post and sometimes the post is fantastic but other times, not so good.

My little stash of this type of card is growing and growing as I cant stop making them.   If you are stuck for a card for any occasion, just pop round and see if there is something here for you.

I still have lots of lovely items on my sales table although the stamp sets are going rather quickly.  If you fancy popping in later today I shall be home.

The Sale a Bration party with Stampin'Up! has just got bigger.  They have released even more products that you can get for FREE when you spend £45 or more.  I have put up a new brochure on the right hand side but if you click HERE it should take you straight to the Stampin' Up! page.  If you need any help at all please, just get in touch.

Well I had best go and get myself ready for the day, I am at the hospital first thing and a few chores need to be done first.  Thanks for having a read and if you fancy a cuppa and a crafty chat later please do call in. Tracey xx

Thursday

Love you to the moon and back

Good morning and it is cooler today.  Yesterday we got up to 8 degrees but today it was just over 1 degree. Paul made it through his first morning back at work yesterday and I made it as well.  It did help that I had company for the morning so thank you Jayne and George, it was lovely to spend time with you.  Today I am on my own so I am going to see if I can drive to the Range.  I have a couple of things to return.

Happy Valentines day to everyone reading this.  We are having a red/love theme in the craft room this month as we all love someone, parents, children, husbands etc. etc.  Here is the card that I made for Paul for today.

I did enjoy making it and Paul really liked it too.  He got me a lovely card and we got a LARGE box of chocolates to share.  This evening we shall be cooking a really nice meal, starters, steak and a pudding before settling down to watch Pauls favourite programme......Death in Paradise.

As mentioned previously, Thursdays get together on 28th is now full.  Friday 22nd is very busy and there is only one space left.

Plenty of room at the weekends get togethers, Sunday 24th February and Saturday 2nd March.  Just let me know if you would like more informaton.

Thank you for having a read today.  I am off to do a few morning chores before trying to drive to the Range.  Have a great day Tracey x

Monday

A special 30th Wedding Anniversary Card

Good morning to this start to a new week.  Some of you may start your week on a Sunday as has been pointed out but for me, it starts today.  Mr. Weatherman says 8 degrees with cloud and some sunshine so that will do me fine.

As it is a Monday it is a day of cleaning and of course, wash day.  I am keeping my promise of no cleaning at a weekend and it is working.  Yesterday we were brave and we went out for the day, yes the WHOLE day.  It started with a very wet, cold and blustery visit to Mercia Marina.  It blew the cobwebs off and all the canal boats were lined up looking pretty (too cold to hold camera up to get a photo).  We actually managed to buy a kitchen clock from Zing.  Zing is a really beautiful shop full of pretties. I even managed to go up the stairs, now that is a first.

This was followed by a roast Sunday lunch, a visit to see Rob and the girls and then another visit to see my sister and her family.  Paul and I, my neice and her two little ones as well as my other neice and her boyfriend all arrived at the same time, oooppps.  Then it was a light snack, Endevour and bed.  A really good day and it has left me feeling refreshed and ready to do the chores.  Of course once these are done I hope to get to do a little crafting.

Trisha managed to get her very special card made over the weekend and it is a stunner.

I loved the tissue background (yes it is tissue and so pretty), the wording has been created with the Labeller Alphabet from SU and sets the card off perfectly.  If anyone has any questions about this lovely card just let me know and I shall pass them on to Trisha.

There are a couple of places left on the crafty night on 22nd February.  If you would like an evening of creating a couple of cards, tags and lots of chatter and laughter, please do get in touch.

Thank you for visiting and having a read today.  Tracey x

Saturday

Unicorns, baking and christmas cards phew

Good morning.  It seems as though we are in for more rain and more wind today.  I will wrap up warm.

Last night was the first 2019 Christmas Card and Chatter get together, something I was really looking forward to and it was wonderful.  Sheila was crocheting away (I think she may start to teach folk how to do this), Pam managaed to get her card finished, Tricia put together all the bits for the card that she needed, Diane and I managed to get a few Christmas cards started and Denise and George joined in with the Chatter side of the evening.  It was so nice just to sit there with like minded folk crafting.  The next evening will be on March 8th  and it would be lovely if you wanted to join us.

Yesterday I tried my hand at baking and decorating cakes, well at least I tried.

Today I have a choice of things I could do.  Go to the Birmingham motorcycle museum craft show.....quite a few lovely things to purchase.  Go to the Swadlincote Scan and Cut meeting, lots of lovely ladies but to tell you the truth, I am not sure I am ready for either.  I think I may just a have a few hours in the craft room with my own Scan and Cut and re familiarise myself with it.  I havent had it plugged in for a few months.

But first we have to take Pauls car to the garage for a service and MOT.  He has only been driving it since July without a MOT!!! We have been lucky not to have been stopped.

Off to start my day.  Hope you have a good day whatever you do and thank you for having a read.  Tracey x

Thursday

Sale in the craft room

Good morning and it is a windy one today, outside that is.  The wind or the flying debris (it wasnt my fence) was blowing down the street and it woke me up.  I do like an early start so I dont mind too much.

Yesterday morning we were out and about rather early.  It was a trip to see the doc and I am under strict instruction to have lots and lots of water throughout the day, some new medication and I am to see him again in 2 weeks.

We called in to see mum who is doing well.  She was at the hospital in the afternoon and so far so good.  The chemotherapy is still playing havoc with her magnesium levels and could do so for many months even though she has finished chemotherapy.  She has to have blood tests next week at the hospital, wait for the results and if all is okay, she can leave.  If not, she will have to stay to have an infusion of magnisium.  I am so pleased we are lucky enough to have the NHS.

Here is another card, that has already been posted out and received I hope.  It was one of those in the kit.

Lovely elements to it and I enjoyed putting it all together.

If you fancy a bargain or two, I am having a sale in the craft room.  Please get in touch if you are free to come over and have a browse.

I have already started advertising some of the items on well known internet sites.  I think it is such a shame that I am not using all these pretty things and so I hope they will go to new homes rather soon.

Thank you for having a read today.  I hope you manage not to get blown away and have a lovely day.  Tracey x

Tuesday

Swirly Bird Thank Yous

Good morning.  Yesterday I got up to it being 8 degrees outside and this morning it is only 0.1 degrees.  Not sure what is happening with the weather but as long as we dont get snow, I will be happy.

Well it is official, my new car belongs to me.
We finally got the number plates on at the weekend.  Previously you had to screw them in to the bumper to make sure they were tight and secure.  Now they are stuck on with 3D sticky pads, honestly.  I was so worried that they would come off.  I wondered about using my hot glue gun on it just to be sure they are stuck but it would be a problem if I had to take the off again.....oh well.  Give me a wave if you see me out and about.

I havent shared this months thank you card.
I have used swirly birds stamp set, a bit of free hand drawing and the matching dies.  I made quite a few and really love them.  I timed myself too, 6 hours.  Yes 6 hours to make them bit by bit of course but well worth it.   I am even going to share a video of how I made these, just in case  you may be interested.  I am excited about doing it, I just need Pauls help to start with as I havent got the faintest idea about editing a videa, but I am willing to learn.

Dont forget this Friday it is Christmas card and chatter evening.

Space is limited so if you havent already let me know you are coming, please get in touch.  It also reminds me how many cakes I need to bake too.  I shall be trying my hand at little unicorn cakes this week.

I shall be placing a little order tomorrow evening.  If there is anything that you would like please do get in touch.  Postage is just 50p if you have it delivered to Alvaston with the rest of the orders and then you nip in and collect.  You are welcome to a cuppa at the same time as well as browsing the craft sale items.  Oh yes I have lots and lots for sale.  I have so many stamp sets looking for new homes if you have chance to visit over the next few days, please do.

Thank you for having a read today, I do hope you manage to stay warm enough.   Tracey x
