Monday

I dare you....

Life is quite hectic at the moment but that isnt a complaint. It is also quite exciting, holidays coming up, a new Stampin Up Catalogue, Stamping up parties, workshops as well as Stamperettes Make and Take events and then its getting ready for Christmas.

I thought I would go back in time, about 5 years ago and show you my very first cards, this is before I discovered rubber stamps, embossing powders, matching papers and ribbons and well
before I had ever heard of stamping up. If I can be brave to show you mine, how about you showing me yours lol. Just leave me a comment and a link to your blog with your first cards on, go on, I dare you

Thanks for having a read, have a great day

My Hero

I think we all have someone that we turn to for inspiration, help when we have lost our mojo and generally think WOW when we see what they have created. Well one of the people that always wow me is Kath. She uses lots of products, different stamps and amazing techniques and some time ago I fell in love with one her cards. It was a card that I knew I must case but you know how that thing called 'time' just passes by, it takes me ages to do the things that I want to do but as it was a fellow crafter, friend and neighbours birthday coming up I thought ohhh, Sandra would love this card and so I started. It took hours to get the embossing right and I can tell you, lots ended up in the re-use pile, then the colouring (that was fun) and as I really am trying not to put inserts inside the card, I decorated the inside too.

I just love what I created, well worth the time and effort. This was using Stampin' Up! bashful blue and I hope to do something similar in a pinky colour soon.

I am sure that you have stumbled across Kath's blog on your travels and if you havent, let me introduce you to her fantastic creations HERE . This is the card that I cased

Thanks for having a read this morning and I hope you have a lovely Monday

Sunday

Soggy Sunday morning

What a soggy morning, everywhere is wet, dark and miserable outside, the only thing the weather can do is improve. Another hectic week gone by but I did manage to spend a few evenings catching up with friends, which is great, getting ready for hols and some time in the craft room. I also managed to see Paul for a couple of evenings just enough time to get his dirty clothes washed, dried, ironed and packed again but I am hoping he will only be away for a few days.

As you have realised by now, I am not very good at taking photographs, sorry. I do try and I guess the more I take the better I will get. Diane came to visit and she had a couple of things to show that she has recently made.
This pictures is so blury but the bird house she made is lovely. She has also created a wonderful picture from an old frame and the Stampin Up butterfly punch which you can just see on the table. We were so busy chatting that I forgot to take a photo of it....

Time for a quick cuppa and to catch up on emails before getting ready for a day of crafting. Today I am going to try and cut out lots of templates for Christiana, get project sheets organised and of course, have coffee with everyone that visits but visitors be warned, you may end up using the big shot......

Christiana has told me that she has started to collect magnets for her fridge. I am trying to hunt down a magnet from Derby so if anyone knows where they sell them, please let me know. I wonder how many magnets it will take to cover a whole fridge door.......

Thanks for having a read and have a lovely day.

UPDATED - I said that the weather could only get better and it has. Sun is out and temperatures are rising....

Saturday

Off to put some more prices on goodies and hoping to see lots of people later.

Have a great day

Thursday

Already another week is speeding by. I didnt do so well with my weigh in yesterday but its the first blip I have had in 10 weeks so I am not overly concerned. Its straight back on the diet today, with a vengence as my holiday is coming up faster than I know and there is so much to do before I go away.
Here is a card that I have made for an order, its for a teenager who is into music, quite apt.

After a busy day at work today I have to get everything ready for Derby Dabblers tomorrow night. Derby Dabblers is a craft club that meet the first Friday of each month. If you are local to Derby and fancy a social night out with other crafters you are most welcome to come along......

Thanks for having a read and have a lovely day

Wednesday

WOYWW - 61

YEAH its Wednesday again, oh how I love Wednesday and playing along to WOYWW but for me its WOYWW, WOYWT, WOYWF, WOYWS etc. etc.....it takes me days to go snooping in drawers, workspaces, floors, on desks and up walls. No I haven't gone potty, nip over to Julias to see what I am talking about.
Lots of lovely comments again last week, thank you. I visited every blog but I couldnt leave comments on some of them, a few took me to different web sites and one of them well....its a good job I am over 18, (just over 18 that is). To answer some of the questions from last week, Julia and Spyder, all the stamps I leave out on my desk are for cleaning, which means that they have been used, at least once
Jozart, I wish all my papermill boxes were full of card but they are storage more than being full with card. One is for decoupage, which I have never finished, two are for cards that I dont like....one day they will get sorted
My weigh in last week was an amazing 4lbs off yeah. Carman, how did yours go and what diet are you on? I thought I was so sad just to go out and buy glue but I am saving pennies for the new Stampin Up Catalogue due to come out in October so I am being good really.
On my desk this week cough splutter....umm what desk, well lets see, after leaving myself enough room to stamp an image, it is chaos, but this is how it was 10 minutes ago.
I am in the middle of finishing some Stamperette gifts, middle of finishing a birthday card and in the middle of finding things to put on my daughters card.....

Have a great wednesday.

Stampin' Up! have a lovely offer for August, 20% discount on some two step stamping stamp sets. I know the phone will ring as soon as this is posted and someone will tell me to get the SU goodies sorted cause they want to pick them up lol

Sunday

White Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit

1st August already, wow this year is really speeding by. I struggled through the afternoon and evening yesterday extremely tired (due to lack of sleep Friday night) and got up today at 5.30. After a cuppa, a tidy and a quick look at computer I thought "mmm this is silly" so I went back to bed until 9.30 so I am really feeling better now, thanks for all your concern. I am hoping to get into the craft room this afternoon as I have 2 card orders for tomorrow....last minute annie. Before that though its the usual sunday chores....ironing, getting everything ready for tomorrow etc. etc. I wont bore you with all the details as I am sure most of you are in a similar situation.

I had been toying with the idea of making jam for a long time, read lots of blogs, watched youtube videos and was given a receipe from Lukes Grandma, ohh more about Luke on another day. So Paul and I went for it, making jam that is and YUMMY. We made a right mess of the kitchen, got jam everywhere, laughed and had a great couple of hours.

Paul in charge of the canning process...as he called it

me stirring the jam

a sticky mess
the 5 jars we made, they just need decorating now

Next day we both sampled it, along with the homemade scones I made, which I have never done before either. I am really impressed with myself so, what can we make next?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PANAYIOTIS - Its P's birthday today and I didnt know until Friday, to late to make and send a card so we hope he has a great day.

Thanks for having a read and so sorry its such a long post today, Enjoy whatever you are upto, until next time
