Grassy grove No 2, Lefkera, Derby Dabblers and more

Good morning.  Another wonderful start to the day with a bit of a lie in.  Yesterday we went to a village at the foot of Troodos mountains.  We again visited the church that Katerina will get married in next year.   Not sure how many people will attend as only a few invites have been made.  I had best get my finger out over the next couple of months.

Just opposite the church was one of the Lefkera lace makers, we had a look at her work, she spoke to us about the church and her work…..turns out she is spent many years in Beeston where her family had the local chippy. Just look at these views.

Today we are having a quieter day.  We hope to visit another resort, if we get there but certainly a lazier day.

Here is a card that was created using the Grassy Grove stamp set from Stampin’ Up! recently.  The Stampin Write markers were scribbled over the stamp rather than using inks. The trees have been scribbled on with different green pens.  This will be added to my ‘go to box’ when a sympathy card is needed.  If you haven’t tried these pens or other water colour pens for stamping with, I shall be showing you how I use them in October, watch this space for details of when.

I will have to start advertising my finished cards again soon as there are quite a few now available.  Should you need a card or two, please keep me in mind.  Or maybe I should look for a local craft fayre?

This weeks Weekly Deals will end on Thursday so I shall place my next order on Thursday evening should you wish to add anything to it, please do let me know.  My contact details are below.  There are some great bits and pieces on offer.

There is still the amazing Perfect Partner Dies offer available throughout the month of September and here are the details,  you may have to click on the image to see things a little clearer.

I would be very happy to order any of these matching dies and/or stamps with my next order on Thursday if you need help.  Please do let me know if you would like anything.

It is Derby Dabblers this Friday evening.  It would be wonderful if you decided to come along and join us.

We are a lovely group of ladies who do lots of different crafts on the night.  If you just want to come along and say hello, you are most welcome to.

Well I had best organise some breakfast, it is nearly 10.30 am, I did say it was going to be a lay day.  Thank you for having a read, Tracey x

Happy Birthday Rose, Weekly Deals and offers

Good morning, what a lovely morning it is too.  The air is fresher, a little cooler and lots of clouds in the sky.

We went to the beach yesterday afternoon but the wind was so bad, we only lasted an hour.  It was too cold for me to have a dip but hubby went in for half an hour.  Then the clouds came so it was a hasty retreat back to the apartment.

This card was made for Rose, out Great Granddaughter.  She turned 2 a few weeks ago and I just adore these cute characters from an old stamp I have in the cupboard.  The clouds were created using a blending brush and stencil and some ink from Stampin’ Up! called Bashful Blue which again is about 12 years old.  The grass is Pear Pizzaz in colour and another old stamp for the little tufts.  I stamped out the image of the characters twice, once onto the card base and once onto Shimmery White card from Stampin’ Up!  I used a mixture of SU inks to colour it all in and then fussy cut it out.  Once cut out I used Dimensionals to stick it the card base.

Sunday

Weekly Deals, birthday card and winery trip

Good morning, I am up early today as I have even more mosquito bites and they were really itching.  I was hoping to buy an Aloe Vera plant to help but not found one yet. I will see if I can find one today.

We had a smashing day yesterday.  It was Sophia’s Name Day so 6 of us went to a village called Kato Drys to a winery for brunch.  As they were  actually collecting the grapes the whole place was swarming with wasps.

I have never seen anything like it but with a couple of tricks, we were able to sit, eat and drink. The first thing that we did was get an ashtray, cover the bottom with Greek Coffee powder and set light to it.  The thing smoked for quite a long time and with a gentle fan behind it, it kept the wasps at bay.  Katerinas FiancĂ© also picked up the wasps once they landed and killed them in a serviette, I have never seen anyone do this before.  We also had a tour around the winery which was most interesting.

Today is Alison’s birthday and this is the card that I hope the postman delivered.

I had such fun creating this one sheet wonder using summer colours and hope to make another one very soon, using some autumnal colours.

Thursday

True Beauty and artistic mix decorative mask

Good morning, well I have been well and truly bitten on my feet by pesky mosquitoes.  It must have happened Tuesday evening and it was a good job we had a day at home yesterday as I can not put shoes on.  Fingers crossed that I can today as we are off out for lunch, a potter around the cemetery before going to the beach.  This will then be followed by cooking dinner for the family and then icing some cakes, phew.

Here is another card that was created by Sally at one of our get togethers.

I have never used Basic White and Very Vanilla card together before but just look how smashing they are.

First of all, the artistic mask was put on to basic White card and the blending brushes were used to create the rainbow background, through the mask.  The stamp from True Beauty was stamped out and die cut and put onto the card using stampin Dimensionals.  The sentiment has been created using the Alphabet bundle which is a stamp set that comes with a punch.  The letters were raised on to stampin Dimensionals.

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! have a stamp sale today?  A perfect chance to get a set or two to add to your collection.  All orders need to be placed today prior to 10.59pm. If you wanted me to order something for you, please get in touch with me by 6pm

Wednesday

Grassy Grove on a Wednesday

Good morning, a bit of a lie in today and a very relaxed day planned.  In fact we shall not be doing much at all.  A ride out in the car and of course our trip to the beach this afternoon .

A few weeks ago, we had a play with our Stampin' Write pens.  By gently scribbling over stamps, a little huffing (which is very important) we were able to create some wonderful projects.  I used different greens on the Grassy Grove Stamp and created this card, which will be a sympathy card.  I don’t have any left in my ‘Box of cards’.  The Crumb Cake pen was used for the birds.

I also used my Stamperatus to make sure that I got a complete image and loved the way is all turned out.  If you have not tried this technique before, I will be creating other cards on Facebook during the month of October and will be very happy to show you how to do this..  More details of dates will be announced over the next few days.

This weeks Weekly Deals will end tomorrow.  Did you want to order something to grab a bargain?  Here are the details below.

I shall be placing orders at 6pm tonight and if you would like to add to that order, please do get in touch.  Collection of your goodies will be from Derby.

There is still the amazing Perfect Partner Dies available throughout the month too
