Friday

Goodbye Liz

Good morning.  Another wet and cold start to the day but never mind, it is Friday.

Today we say goodbye to a dear crafting friend. We met in 2005 and together along with Sandra, Karen, Sam and P.Ann and formed the Derby Dabblers.   I am just so pleased that I got to spend so many hours in her company.  We had lots and lots of laughs and we both learnt a lot. We went to QVC for the day in London, we went on road trips to so many different craft shops and classes to learn the tricks of the trade.

I will miss you.  RIP Liz.

I dont have lots of photographs of us all together but these two are such lovely ones, I wanted to share them with who ever is reading the blog.

Thank you for having a read x

Wednesday

Good news and sad news

Good morning, lots of Derbyshire has snow but us here in the city havent seen any yet.  That isnt a complaint, dont like the snow.

We have heard that Aunty Jean is doing a lot better, great news.  This is the card I took in for her.

It has been made using a retired punch or two.  She loved it and that is what counts.

Unfortunately we have had a bit more sad news, the girls dog, Cutie, who was nearly 19 years old passed away this morning.
She was always being picked on by the cats but just look at them snuggled up in this photo.  She is going to leave a big hole in lots of lives, so sad.

I shall be placing a little order from Stampin' Up at the end of the month, if there is anything that you would like, please do let me know.  Alternatively, you can always shop online yourself by clicking the 'place an order' shopping cart to the right hand side of the blog.

I shall be trying to get to grips with my scan n cut today as I need to do some scanning and cutting.  Wish me luck.  Thank you for having a read and I hope you have lovely day.  Tracey x

Tuesday

An embossed Happy Birthday to You

Good morning and it is a lovely morning, hope it lasts.

We went to visit Aunty Jean recently in hospital.  She was rather confused and talking a bit gobblydegook but looked content.  We heard last night that she is a bit more 'with it' which is great news.

I had a day in my favourite place yesterday, the craft room.  I also met a lovely lady, Elaine, and I look forward to seeing you again at the weekend.  I wanted to have a play with a few things so I did.

This card was a bit of a struggle but with time, patience and a tutorial from Alisa I managed to do it.  The hardest bit was seeing where to colour in once you had heat embossed it.  As soon as I am able, I will be making another.

This stamp is a Sale a Bration set which means it is FREE when you spend £45 on S.U. products.  For anyone that orders this set, I will be very happy to show you how to make the card.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is one that is getting used over and over again.  A really good set and one I can recommend.  I have been asked to show folk how this card was created so for everyone that receives one of these stamp sets FREE with a Sale a Bration order, I will happily show you how it is done.

The redecoration of the sitting room has commenced.   We (the royal we that is) has moved the room around for the 3rd time and I think we have settled on where we would like the furniture.  We are going to see if we can get a corner unit of seats.  They need to be high, because of my RA and I would like at least one of the seats to have a recliner.  I think we are off out today to see what we can find.  The ceiling is going to be replastered (do you know a plasterer?) and we shall have the little lights put in the ceiling with a dimmer switch.  New wallpaper and a paint after the ceiling is complete.  New fire, either before or after the ceiling and a new fire surround (shelf).  The carpet will be the final piece of the jigsaw.  It will take a couple of months as that is how long it takes us to do anything and it will be warmer so we can empty the room and use the conservatory in the evenings.  So we have a plan.

After my late start I had best get a wiggle on as it is now nearly lunch time.  Thank you for having a read and if you would like any help with anything Stampin' Up! or crafty, please get in touch.  Tracey x

Friday

You can never have enough bags

Good morning and brrr it is a cold one.  Up quite early today which is good and with a little help, the chocolate cake and lemon cake are baked.  To be decorated later in the day ready for tonight as I have a crafty get together and we are a full house so lots of chatter and laughter.

As promised another few items made with the Best Dressed collection of stamps, dies and accessories from Stampin' Up!

Sheila had a play with the dies from the set and made the rucksack at the front of the photo as well as the beach bag.  The tote was one that I made but forgot to add the tassles, that means I have to make another *smile*.  These are 5 1/2" x 5" so a nice size and just great for little birthday treats.  If you would like ot have a go at making one, please let me know.  If you would like to purchase the dies, please have a look at the product list at the end of this post.  Dont forget to add the hostess code to your order though.  Alternatively, I would be very happy to order these for you.

Thank you for having a read today, I hope you have a fantastic Friday.  Tracey x

Be as bold as your lipstick

Good morning from an upside down house.  Our bedroom is empty so the mattress is in the hall, the headboard in the spare room, the bed bases on the other side of the hall, all bedding waiting to be ironed.  The conservatory is full of bags to go to the charity and the sitting room has bedroom furniture in it, phew....all for a new bedroom carpet.  So excited.  That will mean that our room will then be finished, just in time to start the sitting room.

The sitting room has been moved around to find the best place for our new sofa and new tv.  Where we currently have it is just not quite right so we have to move it around again on Thursday.

Here is a lovely card made using the new stamp set Dressed to Impress and just one of the very pretty Best Dressed 6x6 papers.
Here the card was teamed up with purple posy card and the lipstick was coloured in with the purple posy blend pen and lovely lipstick blen pen.  I think this would be a great card for many different ocassions.

I hope to be spending a few more hours with this stamp set this week so should have even more to show you tomorrow.

Monday

Wool you be mine

Good morning, I hope we all managed to cope with the weather at the weekend.  Lots of rain, very windy but all our fence panels stayed in place. The forecast today is still wet and windy but nothing like we have seen.

We had a smashing family weekend, which was good and what weekends are for.  We havent seen aunty Jean as she has had a reaction to the anesthetic.  Pauls cousin has been visiting along with his family and lots of other close members.  We are being kept up to date and the operation was a success but she is rather dis orientated.  We hope to get an update later this afternoon and hopefully can visit either tonight or tomorrow, such a worry.

Here is the Valentines card that I made for my hubby, Paul.

He doesnt do squares on squares or any layers at all.  He has always prefered the simple card and he loved this, phew.  We were supposed to be going out today for our Valentines treat but as we have a new carpet being put down tomorrow, we have to empty our bedroom today in readiness.  We shall go out another day.

Here are the classes for this month, starting this Friday.  There are a couple of places available if you would like to come along.
Do get in touch if you would like to join us so that I can book your place.

Thank you for having a read today and I hope you have a great start to the week.  Tracey x

Saturday

Its a wrap

Good morning and hoping your start to the weekend is a good one.  Derby has a forecast of 12 degrees, lots of wind and heavy rain showers mmmm.  Larnaca is going to be 15 degrees with rain showers.  Kaaterina has flown out to Athens today for a weekend with the girls.  I cant blame her as I too do like Athens.  It seems that there are lots of folk on her flight wearing face masks, just in case.

Yesterday was a lovely catch up day of some little chores at home followed by a get together of making boxes last night.  Here are the photos of the boxes we managed to make.  I do hope that the ladies now feel confident enough to make boxes for small gifts.

If you would like to make a box but not sure how to please do get in touch as I would be very happy to show you what I know.

We had news that Aunty Jean is in hospital. She had a fall on Thursdy and has broken her hip and had to have emergency surgery.  She is 91 and was doing so well, we hope to be able to get to see her over the weekend.

We are having our Valentines Meal this evening, we treated ourselves to a M&S offer and a bottle of prosecco, well sometimes you just have to.  Thank you for having a read today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, despite the storm Dennis that we are expecting.  Tracey x

Friday

Poppies on a Friday

Good morning and Happy Valentines to everyone who reads this.

Yesterday we had a PLAY DATE in the craft room.  One stamp set, some dies and lots of enthusiasm.  We used the poppies set to play with and just look at what was created.

Lots of beautiful projects.  We shall have another PLAY DATE in March and if you wanted to come along, you are most welcome.  I will give you details as soon as they are finalised.

I shall be placing a little order today for some Stampin' Up! papers.  If you would like to add to the order, please let me know by 10pm this evening.

Tonight we are having a boxes night in the craft room.  If you would like to learn how to make boxes, remind yourself of what to do or just come along for a social, you are more than welcome.  To make the boxes it would be ideal if you could bring some 12 x 12 card and co-ordinating papers.  If you have a scoreboard that would help to and some sticky stuff.  We shall start around 7pm and the cakes are all made and ready.  The price is just £1 to add to the tea and biscuit tin.

If you need help with anything crafty, please do get in touch.  Wishing you a Fantastic Friday and thank you so much for having a read today.  Tracey x
