Happy Halloween

Good morning.  Up as normal today so lots of energy and raring to go.  I am having a week on Christmas cards this week and am so looking forward to it.  I cant wait to get all inky and sparkly.

Before I bombard everything with Christmas just look at this stunning card that Ruth made.  She has used the In The Moment stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I just love the idea of it being a tag card and one I will certainly case.

The pretty elements on the back of the image have retired but keep your eyes out on the Clearance Rack, I am sure they will be on there soon.

Off to make a start, enjoy your day and have a wonderful start to a brand new week.  Tracey x

Sunday

An early start to Sunday with In the Moment from Stampin' Up!

Good morning.  I know we put the clocks back last night but I was up at silly o clock.  It was injection day yesterday and I never have a good day with that.  The side effects arent the best but I just chill, relax and nod on and off most of the day.  I went to bed around 10pm after watching The Voice final, did you see it?  Then at 3am *ping* wide awake.  So what is a girl to do?  I certainly cant get the hoover out and start cleaning and I am too scared to go to the craft room (it is outside).  So I have answered all my emails and deleted all the rubbish.  Instagram updated, now to update the blog.  Then it will be facebook to be updated followed by a shower and a nanny nap.

Last week lots of lovely ladies came over to make some cards.

I am learning how to post on Instagram as that seems to be a really popular platform.  Do you use this?  If you do, let me know and I can follow you.  It is all a learning curve.

Didnt everyone make some smashing cards.  Everything used will be listed below but I cant tell you how good it was to see everyone and catch up.  We certainly had some laughs.

For the brightly coloured cards we used an A4 sheet of coloured card which was cut in half.  The colours were Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry.

A piece of cardstock, in the same colour as the base card, was run through the die cutting machine sandwiched in the embossing folder "Timeworn Type".  This gave a lovely texture to the card behind the main image

The card with the pretty scalloped edge and a stitched border was created using the Scalloped Contours Dies and Shimmery White card.  All three main images from the stamp set  "In The Moment"fit on to this size (second biggest).  As mentioned, Shimmery white card was used as this is perfect for a little watercolouring, as you can see.

The images were stamped on to the card using Stazon Ink and left for a few minutes to completely dry before colouring in with the Watercolor Pencils.  A slightly damp water painter (paint brush) soon blended in the colours.  Some of the images were raised with dimensionals (3D foam pads) and other were stuck flat onto the embossed piece which was raised.

There were two types of sentiments, the first was created using versamark and white embossing powder on Basic Black card using the new embossing tool kit.  Oh how it made life so much easier, no mess was made at all, phew.  The little brush in the kit gets rid of the excess powder and the tweezers ensured that no fingers were burnt.   These sentiments were then fussy cut.

Alternatively, we stamped the sentiment in the same colour ink as the card (this is the just one of the reasons that Stampin' Up! works for me, the ink, the card, the embellishments, the ribbons all match perfectly and co-ordinate so well).  So the sentiment was stamped and punched out using shimmery white card, I do feel it needs to be the same card as the main image.  Then a new punch was used to create a border for the circle, this is called a Decorative Circle Punch.  All details of what we used are below.

If you would like a little more information about how we made these cards please do let me know.  I will explain how we made the other cards later in the week.

So there is only today and tomorrow left to join the stamping up family with this wonderful Starter Kit plus promotion.

If you sign up before 31st October you can pick your £154 worth of products starter kit for £99, get FREE delivery to your door, FREE business supplies and become a member of the Stampin’ Up! Community.  I am free most of the day today if you would like to have a chat about this.

Well I had best try and get a little more sleep otherwise I will be fit for nothing today.  Thank you so much for having a read and if you need any help with anything crafty, please do get in touch.  Tracey x
