Hello October, Birthday card and new get togethers

Good morning on this, the first day of October.  We have lots of colour changing leaves, cold mornings and cozy evenings to look forward to as well as lots of crafty events taking place in The Craft Room and on line.

Here is a photo that has caused some giggles over the last few days.

I am in the process of updating the blog, throughout the day, it’s quite tricky with the internet access so apologies if things don’t seem quite right.

It was Sheila’s birthday recently and I had seen a card on Pinterest that I loved and I wanted to have a go at making something similar.

To start with I stamped the floral images onto Very Vanilla card, making sure I added some up the sides of the card as well. With one of the Stampin’ Up! Masks and crumb cake ink I used a blending brush to go over all the blank areas.  I removed the mask and continued using crumb cake on the blending brush to darken all the edges, especially the corners.  The  sentiment is computer generated, fussy cut and then dusted over with crumb cake ink.

I shall be making another very similar card during the month of October online.  If you would like to have a go at the same time, with your own crafting supplies that would be wonderful. It will take place on Facebook in a group called The Craft Room, Derby - Craft Forum on Monday 10th October at 6.30pm. If you are not already a member, plenty of time to join.

Our first October in person get together  is this Friday with our Christmas Card and Chatter Night in The Craft Room.

It would be wonderful if you could join us for a few hours of Christmas card/project making.  Not sure where the Craft Room is?  Just get in touch (details are below) and I will send you address details of the venue.

As requested by some of my lovely friends,  I shall be having a few on line card making sessions in the evenings at 6.30pm.  I shall let everyone know what craft supplies are needed so that you can craft along with me.

Should you place an order with me via the online store, pop in the Gift Code under the area it asks for a host code.
