Tuesdays twitter

And what a twitter the feathered species were making this morning I wonder why they are louder on some days.....mmm perhaps I have to google this. I am told it is going to rain today but still stay warm which will be nice as the gardens could do with some rain. After working for half a day I am going to see what weight I have lost this week (fingers crossed) and then its off to see the doc for the MRI Scan results....
Here is another card that I made using up the bits and pieces from the June crafty nights.

I now have to get ready for the July nights....christmas in July. Ohh I am so looking forward to these evenings.

I spent an hour with my new friend last night, my brayer and am so pleased with what I came up with but I realise that I need a couple more ink pads, I will post a picture tomorrow

Have a great day

Monday

Monday morning feeling

It's going to be another busy morning at work for me. When I get home I must clean my craft room as not only the amount of space I have on my desk deminished to about 4" square, I pulled that many boxes out that the floor space has vanished too, ooopps.
I go to the docs tomorrow for my MRI scan results so its fingers crossed. This will also mean that as from Thursday I could be back at work full time...happy and sad about that.
Here are a couple of cards that I have made recently, the first one using both the Vintage Vogue and Bird on a Branch sets...I had quite a few bits left from the crafty nights so I thought I would put them to good use and, I cant add anything else into my "to finish" boxes.

The next picture are of cards that I have mat and layered with SU cardstock and using up some brads that I purchased some time ago. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos but I had to get the cards bagged and ready for the well dressing event in a couple of weeks...a couple of week yikes

Hope you have a lovely day and thank you for your comments, its so nice to read them.

Sunday

Sweltering Sunday

it is going to be the hottest day of the year, says the weather man today....yikes. At the minute is it over 25 degrees and not a breeze in the air, so pleased that my chores are done. I cant do any crafting today as it is too hot in the craft room, hopefully when it cools down this evening I can finish off the brayered images we did yesterday.
And what a lovely day yesterday was...thank you to Emma for her time and patience and thank you to all the lovely ladies that I spent the day with. We had a non eventful drive to Grantham which took just over an hour and the building where the class was held was devine, it's an old school which had a fantastic cafe so of course, we had to make this our first stop.
From left to right you have P.Ann, myself, Liz, Diane and Denise

Here are the brayered pieces that we all came home with. Obviously it was a lot of practise in the morning and then trying to create scenes. I was so impressed at what I had done and you should have seen the others WOW.

And some photos at the end of the day with Emma

The day ended with another drive back to Derby, shattered but well worth it. All I want to do now is some more brayering to see what I can come up with but it will have to wait a little longer.

Thanks for having a read and l look forward to reading your comments. Have a great day

Saturday

Sunny Saturday

I am up with the larks this morning, cant believe what a noise the birds are making and it isnt just the dawn chorus....must be a cat or two around. It's already 15 degrees so I guess it will be quite warm again today, lovveerrrlllyyy.....I am off to Grantham which is about an hour away from Derby and when I return I should have mastered the art of brayering, keep your fingers crossed for me. I can use the brayer on small pieces of card but when it comes to larger pieces I get lines where lines are not supposed to be and the blending of colours is a bit of a laugh.... I will let you see the results tomorrow.
Here is another card that I made using the Very Vintage Stamp set, hope you arent fed up of this stamp set yet as I have lots more to share with you but this one has the new polka dot ribbon on it, clean and simple. The little pearls are from the pretties kit which really is a pretty little kit.

Now that I can do some crafting, knee permitting, I am going through the box of half made cards to finish them off...... I come up with ideas and then go off them so the card just ends up in a box. Is it just me that has a box of unfinished cards or does anyone else have the same?? I would love to know if you have something similar...anyway I am going off what I was going to tell you, I need to get this box all sorted and finished off as I am having a table at the Aston on Trent Well Dressings in a couple of weeks. In this box (actually it's two boxes) I found 8 cards with "caught a bug" printed on them and I cant remember what I was going to do with them so I fished out some embellishments which are at least 4 years old and made these

my photography skills really need to improve. For my birthday I had a lovely little light studio and I forget to get it out of its springy wrapper .... slap on wrists.

Dont forget to slap on that suncream today, you will need it. Have a great day and thanks for reading my post

Friday

ooppss - be warned

Yipee, its Friday...although I am only working mornings at the moment I have still got that Friday feeling and the weather is supposed to be lovely this weekend, yeah.
I was recently playing with the new roller, Very Vintage which is lovely. I was looking though some beautiful cards on the net and I saw this and I just had to case it as it was lovely. Thank you to whoever made the original and although mine isnt too straight, I was happy to roll away a few hours.
Then last week at one of the crafty nights I noticed, IT WAS UPSIDE DOWN.... I didnt realise that this roller had a right way and a wrong way, heres a close up.
Silly me didnt notice that the butterfly was doing a diving spin to the ground and that the writing was upside down so, be warned. Can I please apologise to everyone who may have received a card like this.... opps.

Thanks for having a read and have a lovely day.

Thursday

All of a twitter

we made cards using the Bird on a Branch set as the "other" card during the June crafty evenings, as pictured above. The pink card that has the second bird was created using the reflection technique and the stamp a ma jig. Basically you ink up your stamp, place it on the smooth side of the stamp a ma jig, tun it over and then put that onto your card, rubbing it to get the whole impression. Does that make sense? I did have to do some touching up using the black pen in some areas.

I had the MRI scan on Tuesday and as my leg had to be flat, with lots of packaging around the knee for 20 minutes I left the hospital in rather a lot of pain. Thankfully after a day of chilling yesterday I woke up this morning fine...phew. Thank you to everyone for all your concern and hopefully after the doctors next Tuesday we will know what the next stage of knee repair is. As it's getting better each day I really do think that it's just a case of time...I am told that as we get older injuries just take a little longer to recover from, fingers crossed.

Have a lovely day today and thanks for stopping by to have a read. I shall catch up with comments when I get in from work later.

Tuesdays Twitterings

Phew it was a bit of a scorcher yesterday, temperature wise. Havent heard the forecast yet for today but I dont mind the heat although I do feel for those that struggle with it.... I managed to sleep quite well as I had the windows opened wide and there was a lovely breeze blowing. Today I have my MRI scan yaks...not looking forward to that at all but we are having a Stampin Up get together tonight and THAT is something to look forward to.

The crafty nights that I held in June were really good evenings and I had lots and lots of lovely comments about how much fun everyone had. This is a picture of one of the cards we made from the Vintage Vogue set.

I have planned another 4 evenings in July where we will make Christmas cards. As these are already full I shall try and add another date.

Thanks for stopping by for a read today and I hope you have a wonderful day, whatever you are up to.

Monday

The longest day....

that is today, I am told. Today is the longest day that we have sunlight for.....okay, just a bit of useless information lol. A big thank you to Alyson and Pam who went to Peterborough yesterday. I was hoping to go along to the demo at SS but my knee had other ideas. Pam and Alyson very kindly did some craft shopping for me and ooohhh it was lovely when they returned with my goodies. Not that I can play with them at the moment but at least I can look.
The house is soooo quiet without Paul around but that isnt a complaint. I have sat in the garden for an hour and now about to start chores.
It's Jaynes birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYNE. I know that she like purple so I made her this card.

Thanks for stopping by to have a read and I hope that you have a lovely evening. Dont forget to leave a comment if you can as it really is so lovely to read your messages.

Sunday

Father's Day

I haven't disappeared, honestly. It has just been rather hectic at home and with my knee playing up I havent been able to sit at the computer the last couple of weeks. I did schedule some posts to appear but me and technology didnt agree with each other....instead of putting the post option date of 10 june 2010 I put 6 October 2010 duh!!! so a few posts that were supposed to appear are sat there ready for later in the year, typical.....has anyone else done this??

It's father's day today and I made my dad this card

I hope that he likes it.

I am off for a MRI scan on my knee on Tuesday and then I will return to docs the following week for the results. My knee is certainly getting better it's just a matter of time I am sure.

I hope that everyone who reads this has a wonderful day. Thanks for having a read

Saturday

A sunny start to Saturday

The weatherman promised sun and we have sun...forecast is for a lovely day today but rain tomorrow, I can cope with that. Not sure what we have planned for today but it wont be a busy one, thats for sure.
We have quite a few video tapes of family events that have sat in a cupboard for a few years....well this week Paul decided it was time to put them onto DVD before we lost too much of the quality. We have heard about all the electronic bits you can buy to do this, and the computer programmes that can be purchased but we did it the good old fashioned way, dvd player, video player and telly on top of those, played the video and recorded it on the dvd at the same time. Ok it took a few hours each evening but its done the job. Thought I would show you the artwork on the dvds....my girls will like these pictures and yes, I will get copies sent out to you lol.

And here's the man himself, enjoying a well earned drink last night at 10.00p.m. in the garden, it was soo hot at 20 degrees
Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely day, whatever you are up to.

Friday

Fantastic Friday

Why fantastic you may ask...well it means that the weekend starts tomorrow and I will have company at home all day Saturday and Sunday...YEAH. I cant tell you how quiet it is during the day all on my lonesome which is rather strange as I do like my own company. I think that its because I know that I cant do a lot during the day and get a bit restless. Not moaning of course as I expect that there are lots and lots of people out there who feel the same.

I am STILL working my way through the WOYWW list, phew, so many... please bear with me. I think the problem is that everytime I go onto another blog I have to read all the posts rather than just the wednesday one lol.

Here is another card that I made with Gina a few weeks ago. Its a good job that I have lots of pictures ready to share with you otherwise I would be lost.

Have a fantastic weekend, weather is supposed to be nice and I look forward to reading your comments. Thanks for stopping by

Thursday

a lazy stroll on the beach

Phew its a bit warm out there today, not complaining though. It was lovely to be woken up, for the second time, with sun streaming in through the windows. First time I was up just after 4 but went back to bed....its a silly time to get up for had a pain in my knee and a coughing fit. A cuppa and a walk around soon got me sorted so went back to bed for another 5 hours...yikes, so it was a lazy start to the day really.

Imagine my horror when I came downstairs and realised that the window cleaners had been...I was fast asleep in bed, curtains closed I may add, but my bedroom windows were wide open....I can see you smiling now.

I am slowly but surly working my way through all the wonderful blogs from WOYWW but again, it will take me a whole week to get there. Here is a card that I made a few weeks again with the talented Gina Martin at SS.

It isnt perfect but watercolouring is still my very favourite of all crafty pasttimes, just wish I could get in the craft room to do something constructive....cant be long though.

Have a great day whatever you are doing and really looking forward to seeing everyone at the craft club tomorrow night for a couple of hours. Thanks for having a read

Wednesday

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday 52-Happy Anniversary

I joined this last week for the first time and although I tried and tried there was just no way that I could comment on every single workspace I managed to look at.
Thank you to Julia for organising this and congratulations on your anniversary.
There are some amazing ideas out there and some extremely talented people. I just want to say thank you for sharing....it's like opening up a window to a world of crafters and thank you for all the wonderful comments I received....okay, enough dribble. Knee still quite painful, been back to docs and am off work for another 2 weeks....hopefully will be having a scan within the two weeks. On top of that, as if the knee problem isnt enough, I have a chest infection so am on antibiotics and cough medicine...yaks. It still means that I am struggling to get in the craft room but, over the week I have managed to come up with this for the WOYWW challange

this was a fruit drink container....not a big one

I decorated it with paper that was out, SU ribbon

and then put my flowers on the top of it.

I will be using this to store the flowers in that I make so that they are always on my desk, quick and handy to attach to the projects I make...when I get back into crafting.

This is a picture of a card that has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, it's still unfinished but it will get done, eventually. The red basket contains all my insert descriptions. When I put an insert in a card, put everything in the cello bag, I also add an insert description so that I know what the insert says. I have been building this collection up for over 4 years.
As my desk is rather tidy (and boring), this is what I have on one wall, my drawers full of essentials and my card rack with cards that are nearly ready...they just need a sentiment, an insert or just a bit of glitter.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely day. Off to have a gander at everyone elses work area now....it will take me the week.

The Bank Holiday soon came and went didnt it with some strange weather, no sunshine, no rain but awfully windy and cloudy. Unfortunately I didnt do much at all apart from rest my knee, potter around, rest my knee, elevate my leg, I am sure you get the picture. Paul bless him, has done lots including shopping, gardening, sorting out pond, making me endless drinks and cooking....I am so pleased he isn't working away at the moment otherwise I would be struggling. Back to the docs today to see what he says.

Sorry that I don't have any pictures of cards to share with you today but Stampin' Up! have a great offer for June and July for all those hostesses out there..... an additional £20 of free goodies once your order reaches £250 (not incl. p+p).
