DAY SIXTY SEVEN - Envelopes and a day out out in Derby

Good morning.  We had a day out yesterday, I went to visit our local Market Hall.  It has recently been refurbished to the tune of £35m and wow, the building is amazing.  They have done a lovely job however, it isnt a market anymore.  There are tables but not quite stalls.  It used to look something like this

Full of stalls selling fresh fruit and veg, proper prices and such a wonderful, jolly atmsophere.

Yesterday there was an event at the newly refurbished Market Hall and I was expecting hustle and bustle and an atmsophere but was so disappointed.

It felt an empty space, a few folk wandering around and the event was so very disappointing.  I felt so sorry for the stall holders that had gone to a lot of trouble to share their makes.  We thought we would have a cuppa but to be honest, it was so cold, so clinical and the steats were not inviting so we left.  On a positive side, we got out, we had fresh air and I managed to do a little walking before the pain started in my hip.  I think I may have overdone it, oppps.

I did manage to grab some lovely hycinths from the large M&S store and today I woke up to their amazing perfume.  The whole house smells wonderful.

One of my favourite ways to use up (and share) those gorgeous sheets of DSP is by turning them into pretty envelopes. After all, if you’re sending happy mail, the envelope should feel just as special as what’s inside.

I had a little crafty session and managed to make quite a stack of colourful envelopes ready to tuck my little “tweet” thank you cards into. They’re bright, cheerful, and almost too pretty to post.

The only tiny problem… even after all that envelope making, I still can’t see the bottom of my DSP pile. I’m starting to suspect it might be magical and refill itself when I’m not looking.

It is Kit Night this Friday night (or festive Friday for some). Please do let me know if you hope to come along, it would be lovely to spend some time crafting together.

Well I had best start my day, slowly. Thank you for havig a read and I hope you have a smashing Sunday. x
