Soft Seedlings and Soft Succulent on a Friday

Good afternoon.  What a busy day I have had so far and it wont be long before we cook dinner and then I get time in The Craft Room.  I wanted to finish all my Christmas cards but that wont happen as it is so late in the day.  I hope to get the template ready for my special cards, around 10 need doing so I can soon get them done once the template is made.  Do you do that?  Make a template/sample card and then when you are happy, just go with it?  I find it helps me no end.

Yesterday we ended up in a town called Ashby De La Zouch.  Hubby took me a long way round (think he got the wrong directions in his head) and we saw beautiful scenery, all green and vibrant looking, not autumnal at all.  We had a wander up the main street, a bite to eat and then had a slow drive home (the right way this time).

I only managed the one photo of the main street, the other photo is inside the pub that we ate in.  It was built in the 1700's.  A lovely place for a short stop.  I wonder where we will end up next week.

I have had a bit of a play with the Soft Seedlings stamp set again.  Trying to get lots of samples ready for the Crafty Week at the end of the month.  I believe that the more ideas you see the more vision you get of what you can create with the stamps.

This was created using a tall slim card base and a topper that has been stamped on.

First of all I used the Soft Seedlings stamp set in Soft Succulent colour, inking up as I went along.  Turning the stamp this way and that to get different images on the topper.

Using the Artistic Mix masks and a blending brush, I lightly went over all the white areas to give them a little shading, in the same colour, Soft Succulent.

I then took an idea from Peggy Noe to emboss a piece of card in the same colour as the stamped images and cut a heart out of it.  Well I did that but added another 4 hearts (not embossed) behind it.  I tied a piece of Soft Succulent ribbon (this has now retired from Stampin' Up! but it does come up on the clearance rack now and again), and stuck it on the card with glue dots.  I then added the heart, hiding the knot of the ribbon, it didnt look too pretty.

I stamped out the sentiment, which is in the same stamp set again, in soft succulent ink.  With my scissors I fussy cut the sentiment out.  Oh it took 3 attemps as I never think that they look neat enough but I am sure they do.

I finished it off with good old plain basic Stampin' Up! Rhinestones as they sparkle and shine so much.  I did trim up the ends of the ribbon once the card was all finished.

This card fits in the pretty slimline envelopes perfectly.  To see everything I used, I have listed them at the bottom of this post.  If you would like to purchase any of the items, click on the picture and it will take you straight to the shop.  All purchases via the shop are really appreciated. Alternatively, if you are local, you can always add it on to my next order (which will be 15th November) and collect from the Craft Room.  Please do get in touch if you would like any further information.

Right, I had best get a wiggle on.  Thanks for having a ready, Tracey x
