Ashbourne, Christmas cards and Stampin' Up! Fitting Florets

Good morning, we had a wonderful day out yesterday.  We visited a garden centre that we havent been to before, Fairways in Ashbourne.  Well worth a visit if anyone is looking for somewhere to go.  This was then followed by a trip into Ashbourne itself.  Oh wow, windy or what.  It has been years since we visited but how nice it was to have a little wander, blow away the cobwebs and nip into some little independant shops.  I even picked up a few bits for Santa.

My November started off very well.  On Monday1st Novemeber I won a draw in our Stampin' Up! team challenge.  I shall share what it was when the postman arrives.  Some of the team made some cards that are one sheet wonders but in the Criss Cross pattern.  See my post here to get a better understanding.  I made the cards in a Facebook Live and then shared them in our team group.  Then the challenge was set.

And then on Tuesday 2nd November I am awarded not one but two achievements in the Stampin' Up! world.   Sales level 1 and Team Building level 2.  I know it wont mean a lot to many but to me it means so much.  I so enjoy crafting and sharing crafting with anyone and everyone I meet.  The nicest thing is the friends that I have met along the way and I do hope that it continues.

Speaking of crafting, today I shall be in The Craft Room most of the day getting the Christmas cards done.  Oh how I am loving it, the boxes are open, the glitter is scattered everywhere and the cards are coming on one by one.  I am so pleased that I started making them early this year (January) and carried on making a few each month.  It is making the putting them all together, a pleasure.

Have you ever done a 50/50 card or a 'cut up the middle' card.  Well this is what these Christmas cards are.  You cut an A4 sheet of card in half.  Then you stamp up the middle of the card and cut it in half again.  This way you have 2 card fronts stamped out in no time.  For this technique I used Christmas Season stamp set along with the sentiment from Christmas to Remember.  Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzaz and Cherry Cobbler were perfect for the stamping, a little blending with Crumb Cake ink and a quick pass through an embossing folder.  Please have a look at the end of this post to see the products I have used.  The embossing folder and the gold twine are no longer available but I feel sure you have something similar.

I have tried to have Christmas card and Chatter nights each month for the last year but the numbers just dwindled and dwindled.  Perhaps its because folk dont want to go out at night?  Making cards is becoming a thing of the past?  I dont know but I shall see if a daytime event would be popular.  I can but try.

Do you fancy a cuppa, a crafty chat and something sweet to eat?  I am having Tuesday at Traceys next Tuesday.  You are welcome to collect your order if you have one or just pop in to see what it is all about.   If you dont know where I am, please get in touch and I will happily give you the address and directions.
