DAY 57 - Calm and Quiet card

Good morning, up early as out and about before 9am.  Hope to be home for 11am and to crack on with cleaning the craft room.  I cant believe it is taking so long.  Well worth it though.  Then I shall have a catch up with friends and of course being Monday, it is stroll night tonight.

Yesterday got rather busy but it was lovely to spend time with mum and dad and then I went off to see sis and brother in law.  I think this is what Sundays are for, family.  I did manage to make time to photograph one of the cards we all made last week at the get togethers.

This is from the Calm and Quiet hostess set, the largest stamp in the two stamp set. The sentiment is from Sending Stamp Set.  We all had great fun watercolouring this stamp and then chopping it up into three pieces.  This is one of the stamps that will stay in my craft room for many years to come.

I have found that you can watercolour on Stampin' Up! Thick Very Vanilla card.  Obvioulsy it isnt watercolour card but with a damp brush and a little ink/water the fibers dont rub up and it looks wonderful.  This is what I did with these cards.  The image was coloured in with Black Stazon Ink and this dries very quickly, perfect for colouring in with Stampin' Up! ink, (not mentioning the smell)

  • We have a Lemon Lime Twist card base
  • Layer of Pretty Peacock
  • Coloured in with Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Pebbled Path, Copper Clay and Pecan Pie
  • The image has then been slices and adhered to the Pretty Peacock card leaving a small gap
  • The sentiment has been stamped on Very Vanilla card and then trimmed at an angle.

We all loved making these and found it to be calming and theraputic.  Cant wait to try this out with other stamps.

Well I had best get on with my day.  Hope you have a great start to the week and thank you so much for having a read.  Tracey x
