Card Inspiration

Tuesday

Tuesdays Twitterings

Tuesday and I returned to work today, that's it,  moving on.

Do you know I cant believe how many lotions and potions I have started to use.  After the shower and dry and brushing of the teeth its, a cream for the heels of my feet, to keep them soft.  A cream for the dry patches I have on my torso, its a medication one (caused by stress), then its the Molton & Brown cream for my arms and legs to keep them feeling lovely and smooth.  I use a cream to clean my face, yes I know that I washed it in the shower and I used a makeup remover before I went to bed last night but even so.  And then, I put on another cream so that I dont look my age, well I can try cant I.  No wonder I need a good hour in a morning before I come downstairs for my cuppa ohhh to be young again.  I used to get up, have a shower, get dressed and be downstairs ready to go out in 15 minutes lol......

I am sitting here waiting for the UPS man to arrive with some SU goodies. I hope to sort them out, pack them and start delivering tonight so, get ready for that phone call.  If you would like to collect your goodies please feel free to do so.

Here is a card that I rejected for the less is more challenge this week.  I started off with this

but it is a little over the top for me,
So then I made another one, without the ribbon but it still wasnt quite right.

So the one I ended up with will be on my blog a little later tonight with a link to Less is More. I am still working on birthday cards for the family so its a bit of a busy time for me but, I can put my feet up this weekend as Paul is taking me away for my birthday.  Lucky me.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a lovely evening

Monday

Bank Holiday Monday

A later start for me today but it doesnt matter, I deserve a lie in now and again. Unfortunately Paul doesnt get today off work, its just a normal Monday morning for him which means that I get the day to myself.  I shall be going back to work tomorrow which will be nice.
A big *wave* and a * hello*  to my new followers, the numbers are increasing all the time which is lovely, thank you for taking the time to have a read.
Today its a bit of a tidy up, putting things away and getting things ready for work tomorrow but I do hope to get into the craft room this afternoon or evening as I have a few birthday cards to finish off.  I think the majority of our family were born in the month of May as I have lots and lots of cards to give out.
What about this little bag in a box, isnt it lovely.  I received this recently from Elvie, she had made loads of them, thank you Elvie.
Elvies bag in a box.

Here is a card that I have made using some of the new products in the Summer Mini Catalogue.  I saw this on the big wide net and fell in love with it so I cant claim fame for the design but it was one of those that you see and you just have to CASE it straight away, which is what I did.

I have used the new designer papers which are called Twitterpatted and are a must have, really, on one side they are so pretty and femanine and on the other side rather masculine.  Then the stamp set, that is Apothacary which is wonderful.  The buttons match the papers and stamp set but then, best of all, there are some dies which cut out the stamps perfectly.   I am really really excited about this set and want to spend hours playing with it but I cant do that just yet but maybe tomorrow night I will. If only I had felt well enough whilst I have been off work, drat.
The sunshine is out so I am off to open all the windows of the house to get some fresh air in and have a tidy up.
Thanks for having a read and have a wonderful (dry) day.

UPDATED  I finally remembered to put a copy of the new Summer Mini Catalogue on my blog, which should take you straight to the first page so you can flick through it virtually.  If you would like a proper copy, please give me a ring 01332 721877 and I will drop one off to you.

Sunday

So far the weekend is zooming past but hay, it must mean I am having fun.

Dinner is nearly ready so I thought I would update the blog whilst I have five minutes.

I found quite a lot of "card making kits" in my craft room, which I have just never got round to doing and, as they are all cut out and ready, I thought I would make a few up.  Here is the first one, which I made two cards out of.  I am not quite sure what sentiment to put on them at the minute....do you have any ideas?

Thursday

Bordering on Romance

Oh I had a brilliant time going round all the WOYWW blogs yesterday whilst I was havin my cuppa, my coffee, my lunch and even last night, naughty me.  So inspirational and I got lots and lots of comments about my desk too, just the tonic I needed. There are still quite a few more places I have to visit but I will do this every time I have half an hour.
Today I shall do a little more pottering, feeling quite a lot better.  I may get into the craft room for a while or I may not.  I seem to have a bit of a problem now with my legs, they are all very very swollen, bright red and I guess just twice the size that they should be.  A good job I am back at the doc tomorrow.
I fancied some proper bread yesterday, you know, from a proper loaf so I nipped out to Birds, very lucky to have this shop round the corner.  Anyway, got my loaf, put two slices in the toaster for lunch and it was scrummy but, what I didnt realise was that the crusts had cut my tongue and my mouth.  How daft am I...so now its back to packet bread again.
In just a couple of weeks I am going to be 50 years old.  I am not too concerned about being that age but I dont want to feel 50 nor look 50 cause inside I am still in my 20's, I wonder if that feeling ever changes?  We have already decided not to have a big Birthday Party (as far as I am aware) but Paul is whisking me away to Amsterdam as I have always wanted to see the tulip fields and what a way to remember the day.  We shall be going out for a meal with the family and hopefully there will be a little celebration with friends.  Something for me to look forward to once I go back to work on Tuesday.
Here are a couple of cards that I have made with the new stamp set, Bordering on Romance.  I have lots and lots more ideas but its just a case of finding the time to make the cards and having the mojo to do them but, I will get round to them, as soon as I can.

I have just realised that I havent put on a link for the new Summer Catalogue, I will do that straight away, silly me.  If you would like a copy of this to flick through the pages, just let me know.

Thanks for having a read today

Wednesday

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 152 for a well deserved treat

I dont want to say this too loud but, there is something yellowy in a blue sky???? Does this mean that today we wont get any of the wet stuff?  After how many days of rain rain and more rain its nice to see some proper daylight, fingers crossed that its going to last.

Do you know, I spend so much time doing all the things that I need to do, doing things that have got to be done etc. etc. that I forget to do the things that I like doing so as from today, I am going to make sure I get plenty of time to do the things that I want to do as well. I am sure that I am not the only one who feels like this at times.  So as it's Wednesday I thought I would play along with What's on your workdesk Wednesday. It is so long since I went and visited everyones workdesk with a coffee that this will be e a real treat.  Yikes, how many people have already posted, goodness, how wonderful.

So here is my workdesk.

Yes I cleared a bit of space for 3 cards, well I had to otherwise you would never have seen them.
It is my uncles birthday in less than 2 weeks, on the same day as my birthday,  so I have been playing with a card I wanted to make for him.  I must admit that I have been tittyfing this for nearly a month, well I am getting older and things take longer lol.  I hope that today I can get it finished and take it to him next week as we shall be away on the special day.  Its a man tree stamp that I thought was fun, for men who have little or lots of hobbies.  What do you think?

Thanks for having a look at my blog and I hope you have a lovely day.

Tuesday

It's the 1st May and perhaps instead of saying White Rabbits I should have said White Ducks.  Well who else feels like a duck, with all this rain?  I am not complaining about the rain as I really dont mind it,  we need it for the garden, its good for topping up the pond and good, if you are a duck.

Well it is time for Tuesday's Twitterings again.  I am starting to feel a lot better now. I went off for a blood test first thing this morning and will go back to the docs on Friday to see if I can return to work next week.  This cold/chest infection really has knocked me for six but as I said....starting to feel better.  Thanks to everyone for your good wishes.

I havent done a lot of crafting, thought about it but not done it.  I havent spent too much time on the computer either in fact, I havent done a lot in the last 10 days but obviously, I needed to rest.  I have watched lots of telly, caught up on the soaps and looked at the crafting channels.  Hopefully now that all the medication is finished I will get a bit more energy back to do some things, fingers crossed.

I can tell you what I have been doing and that is looking through all the new products that Stampin Up have to offer as from today as today, is THE day that the Summer Mini Catalogue is out and I think I know what is on every page now.  There are some lovely new things which, I hope to share with you over the next couple of weeks so you will have to keep nipping back to my blog to see what is new.

I am really excited about a couple of new goodies in particular, I am in love with the new hostess set Pedal Presents and the whole set of Bordering on Romance.  This set includes edgelits dies, embossing folders as well as the stamp set....something not to be missed.  Fortunatly we have until the end of August to play with all the goodies from this catalogue, WHHOOPPPEE.

AND  have you heard the other news from Stampin' Up! today  £99.00, yes £99.00 for the Stampin' Up Starter kit, what a bargain this is.

You get to choose £130 worth of goodies to get you started and you pay £99.00.  Your goodies get shipped to you free and you also receive £45 of business supply goods. MAY is certainly the time to join Stampin' Up! if this is something that you have been considering.  PLUS, if you sign up during the month of May, you get your fees for the next Convention in Mainz, German, paid for you.  Yes that is right, £149 Convention ticket all paid for. (you will have to pay for flights and accommodation yourself).  So, what are you waiting for?  Give me a call on 01332 721877 to find out how to sign up with Stampin' Up!, get goodies at discounted prices, get free products and get an entrance ticket to the convention.
Teeny Tiny Tags, Simply Soft, some scrap Tempting Torquoise card, jewlerry tag punch and some brads
I made some thank you cards for May

Thanks for having a read today and I hope you manage to stay dry.

Saturday

NEW STAMPERETTES GROUP

DONT FORGET STAMPERETTES series 8

This is due to start on 28th April. Not sure what the Stamperettes group is? It is a group of 10 ladies who agree to purchase £15 worth of Stampin' Up! goodies each month, for a period of 10 months.  This will total an order each month of a minimum £150 so each person in turn will be a virtual hostess.  That means that you get to hold a Stampin' Up! party vitually, no cleaning, no preperation, no baking, no visitors, no extra chairs to look for and no tidying up afterwards BUT you do get  hostess benefits and AT LEAST £25 to spend in the catalogue.
If you would like to be a part of the next Stamperettes group, just let me know.  I only have 2 places left

Wednesday

Mid week musings

Good morning from a rather warm Derby.  I havent seen the heron for a couple of days so I am hoping that he has given up on my little pond and my poor fish and realised that there are just too many obsticles that it isnt worth visiting me, fingers crossed.

Voice seems to be a lot better today so at least I will be able to communicate with Katerina, once she gets up.  She is a typical student, up half the night and in bed most of the day.  I tried to get her to go to bed at 10 last night, that is when I went up (a bit late for me) but she wasnt having any of it.  It is just so nice to have her in the house.  Paul is staying off work with me again today, to help me, bless him.  He is now suffering with a sore throat and I just hope that I havent passed on my germs to him.

Yesterday we thought we saw the dreamliner plane in the sky, it was certainly extremely long and very slow so not too sure, but we like to think that is what is what.

Here is a get well soon card that I made recently.  I had everything out on my table and had a bit of a play.

There are a mixture of stamps including Bordering on Romance, Hopeful Thoughts and Simply Soft.  I used Neutrals Ivory Card with Marina Mist, hope you like it.

Thanks for having a read and hope you manage to stay dry on what has been forecast a very wet day.

Tuesday

Tuesdays Twitter

Good morning from  a very overcast Derby.   Well I have had the duster out and given the blog a good old dusting down as I couldn't stand the cobwebs on my face when I entered.  It has been so long to post but here I am now.  And just what has Mr. Blogger been up to whilst I was away. The pages have all changed (here behind the scenes that is), I cant find my reading list and goodness knows what else seems to be added but that is progress for you.

Progress is something that I am not making at the moment.  I started with a cold last week and we all know how yakky that is, the runny nose leading the the sore nose.  The aching limbs and being so tired.  Well for me, this has led to a very nasty chest infection.  I have been to see the doc who was in two minds as to whether to admit me or not (due to my health in the past).  Instead I am on numerous tablets including steroids AND antibiotics, told to take things easy, drink lots and lots of fluid and I am off for blood test at the beginning of next week and then to see Doc again at the end of next week.  Fortunately Paul has returned home to look after me he says...bless.  Katerina is on her way home and she is going to look after me too.  I cant talk for too long as this irritates my throat, which starts off a cough so the house is going to be quiet for a few days.

On the positive side, because we just have to stay positive, I dont have a headache today (something I have had for quite a few days). This has kept me off the computer so I shall have a tidy up and a catch up throughout the day.

To share with you today I have another scrapbook page.  I went out with 3 lovely friends to a class recently and met some new friends.  Here is my page, with a special photograph of Sophia and Katerina.  Now uploading these has taken me a long time as I am not really sure of how to do it now in blogger so please bare with me for a few days whilst I get my head around all the changes.

Here is the whole page.  I want to put a title on the top so will get everything ready and finish it off at the next dabblers meeting.
I am still wondering what it was they were looking at.

And here are some close ups of the elements of the page.

Thanks for having a read today.

Sunday

Shattered Sunday

What a week and a weekend it has been. Sadly not a lot of crafting but still busy busy busy. After my daughters left me last week I spent the weekend catching up on chores, washing, ironing and boring stuff. I did try to clean craft room but to no avail, i just made it worse.

I caught a train Friday night and headed to Chester, somewhere I had never been before but met up with Paul and Sophia late Friday night. We went for an Italian and then stayed just outside Chester. Up early for breakfast Saturday morning and and back into Chester center and WOW it is beautiful. I do hope that we can go back there sometime soon. Saturday afternoon we spent at Cheshire Oaks, in the rain lol. Again another lovely place and I must admit, I did manage to find a pair of shoes at a silly price. Sophia got a few little bits and pieces and then we got the bus back to Chester. Goodbyes were said to Sophia and she caught the train back to Preston to Katerina. They went to Church last night as today is Easter Sunder in Cyprus. So homeward bound Paul and I came today and now I am in the middle of more washing...its never ending.

Here is a scrapbook page that I did some time ago
I loved doing this and look forward to spending another day making scrapbook pages this weekend.

Well it's a quiet week at home for me this week, I need the rest. Thanks for having a read

Monday

Monday Monday be da be da da da

so good to me ba daba ba ba ba,
Monday morning,
it was all I hoped it would be

Do you remember that song? I think it was the Mammas and Pappas and I just cant stop singing it? Well its a wet morning here in Derby which is great for the plants and I dont have plans of going out until later when I take the girls and their friends back to the railway station. They are all going back to Preston today, via shopping in Birmingham??

Yesterday it was a bit of a busy Easter starting off at a proper time of day around half 7ish. I got everything ready for lunch, baked two lots of cakes and everyone got up.

Here are the cakes, a St. Clementines (orange and lemon)

And some Chocolate Muffins which the Cypriots think are sweet enough but the grandchildren (and adults) liked them.

Katerina did the toast for everyone which is normally Paul's job but sadly, he had to work.
Then it was lunch
and Nana May came to visit. Then the grandchildren came, Sister and Hubby came, then niece, her hubby and little Ollie. I did tea for all those that were here and before I knew it, the clock said it was 9p.m. ummm where did the day go? So I took myself off to bed and left the crew playing cards. It was a wonderful day and who knows what I will get up to today?
Here is a card that I made in Peterborough. I thought I had shared this with you but I think it was on one of my blog posts that I set up that never appeared, lost forever. ...anyway I am rabbiting on.
It is a lovely stamp and I thoroughly enjoyed the time stamping and colouring, so relaxing and lots of me time but then, that is why we go to Peterborough for the weekend of crafting.

A close up of those flowers

And the inside
All it needs is the greeting to write but can I give this away? Perhaps not.

Thanks for having a read of this long post today, I know that Paul and Christiana will visit to make sure they catch up with all the news. Enjoy your Monday and I really do hope that I can catch up with everyone that I havent seen for so long, very soon

Sunday

Happy Easter

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and I hope you are having a wonderful day, whatever you may be up to.

Do you like my Easter Goose or Easter Duck...well no matter what he is, he has been christened quacker. A little bit of Spring on what looks like another damp day.
I decided to treat myself when we went to Craft Central as I am no longer buying cigarettes. Can you believe it is 5 and half months ago that I stopped smoking, a good job really as the ones that I used to buy are now £8.56 a packet.
Here are some Easter items on my table this morning....I am sure they wont be there for long though.

Today I am cooking lunch for my visitors and I know that for a certain daughter lunch will actually be her breakfast. Before that though I am baking. I shall do some small cup cakes and a St. Clementines cake as I bet we will have a visitor or two this afternoon.

Yesterday I went to meet my daughters from the train station
And this is what they needed to recover after 4 hours of shopping. I had a tea well I did need it after bright pink shoes, shorts, dresses, trainers etc. etc. were purchased.

I know that Paul is waiting to see these photos as he is missing the girls. He is still working away but next weekend, we shall all be together, bliss.

And now for something a little different for me, a scrapbook page. I dont have the photograph in place yet but I thought I would share with you something that I am really loving
Now I know why I was saving all the buttons

Thanks for having a read and have a lovely day
