Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday 157

Woke up this morning to...no electricity HUH.  I didnt know what time it was nor what had happened I just saw the flashing alarm clock.  So up I got, switched on the TV and stood there waiting DUH.  OK it did take a few seconds to realise that the TV wouldnt work without the electricity.  Tip toed downstairs, and please, dont ask why I tiptoed, went into the kitchen and there on the wall, good old clock with batteries and it was 6.00 phew, I wasnt late.  Late for work that is as after the lovely long weekend, its back to work today, for a few hours this morning. Umm how was I to make a cuppa? pan of water on the gas and wait an age for it to boil, drank it and then wondered how was I going to shower?  The shower pumps water up to the bathroom using electricity, my hairdryer?  So I got on the phone to call the electric board, the phone didnt work, good job I have a mobile but what is the phone number of the elctricity board?  The computer could have told me if it worked.  So I found the number on an old bill, just started to call them and puff, the lights came on YEAH.  So here I am, able to make my WOYWW post.  I have had to put the heating on to get the house warm and I have a few minutes before I go and get my shower, I may have to have a hot cuppa cause the last one was just luke warm.  If you are not sure what WOYWW is, just nip HERE to find out what it is all about.

A bit of a jumble today, there is one of my pots of flowers as I am sorting out some flowers for the card I am making, its mums birthday next week.  Some punches in case I cant find the right colour flowers and my tv remote lol.  Whenever I do any crafting, if I have bits left over I always put 3D foam pad on the back of them and stick them to black cards so if I need something in a rush, I can just pull it off the card so that is what you can see at the back of my desk.

Right, off to get ready for work and hope to have a wander around everyone's desk later this afternoon.

Thanks for having a read

Morning Tracey. It's bad enough having power cuts in the daytime but it must be awful when you get up to it! :o)

Your post has made me giggle. We had warning of a power cut some weeks ago and did we remember. I just got out of shower and it all went off! We managed most things, bread, butter and marmalade in pots for brekkie in work, turned everything off, chicken fence - check - has battery backup. House and shed alarm - check - has battery back up. Phew. But. Electric gates?? How do we teleport the car over the gates? Duh!
Great idea of the flowers with foam pads on. I usually keep them in a tin at the ready!

Hi Tracey,

Oh, you had me laughing at my computer screen! You poor thing. I laugh because I've done some things similar when faced with a power outage. My hot water heater is electric and that would be bad.....

Happy WOYWW

We never realize how much we depend on these utilities until they are gone! I'm glad all is well with you now!

Hello!

There is nothing more confusing than to try to determine the time when one has just woke up! Hopefully the rest of your day went well! Your workdesk has many fun items on it - and very tidy! Wishing you a happy one!

Hugs,

Barbara Diane

Happy belated WOYWW from a rainy Pembrokeshire. Shows how much we rely on electricity. I get really lost when it goes off here, despite having plenty to do that doesn't need it. What a good idea, re. sticking stuff onto black card for later use. Ali x #54

Nothing worse than when the power is out. You don't realise how much we rely on power until it's gone. Love all the flowers on your desk and the card is gorgeous.
Have a great week.

Oh my gosh, that's not a good start, and yet you still managed to make a cheery WOYWW post - above and beyond, I would say! Love the idea of the left overs on the black card....does it come in 8 foot sheets?!!
