Sunday

Card Challenge Day 25 and Dragonfly Garden Bundle

Good morning, I didnt know it was Sunday today, really, I am so mixed up with the days but it will certainly be a day of not doing a lot.  I have a few plans that involve crafting and a little advertising but nothing more than that.

Yesterday we had a walk around a local park, Alvaston.  It has a wonderful lake there and we went to feed the birds.  Well what a scare that was.  I took a bag of food out of my pocket and the birds appeared from everywhere, all at once.  It gave me a right scare.

I can tell you, I ran.

I also have a card to share with you from the new Spring Summer catalogue from Stampin' Up' that will go live in on 5th January.  This is my number 25 in the Card a Day Challenge.

It is a stamp set called Dragonfly Garden and it has a punch that co-ordinates, punches out the dragonfly.  It really is one that I adore and have been using quite a lot.  There are lots of other elements that go with this and I cant wait to show you more.

  • I started creating this card by having a blackberry bliss card base.
  • I stamped the flowers out of the set down the right hand side.  Looking at it now I think I should have done them a little closer together.
  • I got an acrylic block and dabbed it into crushed curry ink (yellow).  I used an aqua painter to take the ink off the block and painted all the flower heads.
  • I did the same with the Old Olive ink (green)  and the Blackberry Bliss (purple).
  • I inked up the dragonfly stamp and stamped it out onto a piece of scrap card and when it was dry, I punched it out.  I used the same colours off the blocks to colour in the dragonfly and the added wink of stella to the wings, to give it some sparkle.
  • I then added the sentiment.
  • Once I had stuck the stamped image to the base card, I bent the wings slightly of the dragonfly and stuck it at the side of the sentiment.
